STOP The Škorpion (Sa61_EP1) is already in A2:CO, and if you haven't used it in vanilla gameplay, you're sorely mistaken if you think it's a lousy sidearm. Secondly. Stock P-90 doesn't have any magnification OR scope - it's just got a miniature red dot sight built into the receiver group. Effective range would definitely not be augmented by this. And thirdly. Chernarussia's military uses Warsaw-Pact weaponry. It's bad enough that there are HEAPS of western weapons in the game. There's very little reason for there to be another Belgian weapon in there, too. If anything, Warsaw-Pact weaponry, vehicles and helicopters should be prolific, with Western and European weaponry rare or unique-spawn.

Looking for the owner of Anarchy DayZ [US - RI] 1.7.2.4/95417
manta-avoid replied to Brandnew11980's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Magicool. Not cool. Go climb a wall of erect dicks. Brandnew, DayZ servers are not allowed to be passworded, nor are they allowed to reserve slots for donators, shareholders, admins or VIP's. The nature of the game is based upon the sandbox model, and server-instanced persistence. My advice would be to find a gaming community that you see often enough to play with, and join up on their forums or teamspeak server and say 'hi'. If you don't have a microphone, get one and use it. Being heard is definitely better than being read. -
An Upgraded PC same FPS as my old one? I don't understand.
manta-avoid replied to ThelanstaR's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Best comparison is made when running the game at its' lowest settings. Test and post results, you'll see the difference. -
Fresh new scripters caught. :)
manta-avoid replied to MrGreen72's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
See http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/addWeaponCargo for further explanation. -
Not of their own free will, no. I'm not sure which script is executed when a player tries to access the admin control panel (default Shift+P) but I would take a leaf out of the hacker's book, and kick for execution of that script. If they're not accessing their hack menu with the scrollwheel menu, they're accessing it there.

AutoHotkey - OK with Battle Eye?
manta-avoid replied to ryanmulder@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You'd probably be better off asking BattleEye staff themselves, rather than the community here. You'll get an official answer, anyway. Good Luck. -
If that weapon wasn't hacked-in on your server, it was hacked-in on another server and came to yours in the hands of some fool thinking it was a good idea to keep. At this point in time, with 1.7.2.5's changes to the dedicated server the amount of data being logged to server is pitiful. You're better off monitoring layer 3 traffic to and from clients connected to the game, and exporting that to a secure log. Then, at least you can be sure that you will capture all the relevant information required to police your server effectively. Consult the DayZ Wiki or DayZ Database for verification of weapons in game. Also a full list of weapons active in ArmA 2 Combined Operations is here. Pardon the French.

Hacked in AS50 TWS (-Ark- TH3 UN533N) (AU 5)

Less common than many others. It's OK to not like something. But don't be a dick about it. -
AU 5 Invisible hacker North of Petrovka
manta-avoid replied to manta-avoid's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Nothing, no. Due to the reduced logging level in 1.7.2.5, no useful data is available to be logged. We have been working on logging layer 3 traffic, however it needs to be fine-tuned and was not implemented. -
Hi, No, it does not mean that that particular player has been executing that script knowingly. What has happened there is that each player has been the target of a bulk teleport script. The players are innocent. Sometimes, if it is a global action you'll find that the server will be emptied-out, leaving one player behind. I believe you have reasonable grounds to immediately ban that player for executing illegal scripts on your server. However, if you continue to see one player executing setpos scripts, I would suspect them of executing personal teleports. As Christopher Hawken would say "boil them" - Ban them.

Hacked in AS50 TWS (-Ark- TH3 UN533N) (AU 5)
manta-avoid replied to Shifty_Pete's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Back to the topic at hand. This is not a bannable offence. Also this is not a punishable offence, however the ARK member in question has been reprimanded by those in his CoC. Pete, if you have a problem with happenings on the server, speak to me. Because you will be referred to me, otherwise. Your shit-stirring with other admins and other suspected admins is not acceptable in our community. Consider yourself duly warned. -
AU5: Banned for being in a chopper (unknown if admin or not)
manta-avoid replied to bjhermann@internode.on.net's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Nifty, has this ban been lifted at all? The tools available to admins don't readily let us determine who spawned the helo, and that is the person who should be banned here. If you removed the creator's control over the helicopter and used it, there are no grounds for you or innocents to suffer a ban merely because you were found in this spawned-in helicopter. Send me your GUID. If it's not in the global bans list, I'm happy to unban you. You can get your GUID by joining any ArmA II server that has BattleEye enabled, and typing the following command into chat: #BECLIENT GUID Screenshot the result, and send that to me. I'll do the rest and let you know the outcome. Apologies for this having gone stale on the DayZ forums here. If there are problems in future, please post a reference link on our forums at www.armaderp.com. after creating your topic on the DayZ forums -
Hacked in AS50 TWS (-Ark- TH3 UN533N) (AU 5)
manta-avoid replied to Shifty_Pete's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
And this is relevant because...? Reconsider your choice of words. 'Gay' is losing its burn, at least in Australia and Europe. No. The ARK member in question here is not on our admin team. Nor are any ARK members proven hackers, either. However, kudos to the cleanup job IRT helo full of players with non-standard weapons. Keep that up! -
Hacked in AS50 TWS (-Ark- TH3 UN533N) (AU 5)
manta-avoid replied to Shifty_Pete's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
You've proven TH3_UN533N had a non-DayZ weapon in his gear pile. But this screenshot of your teamspeak convo - the log entry he produced there? Show me where your identifier is in that string. Have you ever seen an A2DS log entry before? Do you know who the log entry is for? I hate to say it. You like to post and that's cool, but your stories read like the worst chapters of Fifty Shades of Grey. -
It's your choice to play on various servers, and to report hackers when you can, too. Getting a response from an admin can take time - you know the drills. Stick to your guns or drop 'em and run. Personally, I would stick to one server and make yourself known and welcome as a part of its' community. You've a better chance of getting a fast, positive reaction that way than you do if you're flitting about among servers hosted by different crews. I've seen you using teamspeak, and most of the Ausarma servers have admins available. Best make use of them - local bans are fast, but global bans.. you need a lot of evidence for that to happen. If you can't provide much the DayZ hive team has to do all that for you. What a laborious pain in the arse
-
Brilliant. Who admin's AU9? Probs post a note for them to see what they can do. Do you have an exact time this occurred? Server logs can have multiple entries per second, so accuracy to-the-minute definitely makes it easier. Did this hack happen to type anything in Direct, to agitate you guys?

Duly noted, thanks

BattleEye - Client not responding
manta-avoid replied to solidtuber's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
it looks like you've gone through the correct steps here. Can you verify that the problem isn't being caused by a HDD error, or a viral infection? Make sure, because this can snowball and begin to affect other programs if that is the case. -
Due to the nature of the game (playable port of commercial milsim) this is a design feature. Unfortunately, it's also a flaw in this utilisation. Yes, someone has already answered your question. As one of the AU 5 admins, I'd appreciate it if you checked if an admin was logged in at the time, and approached us before blaming us. Locally logged Administrators can be ID'd in the following manner: Using default keybinds: Press "P" Scroll through the list. If you see a player with *Admin* at the end of their name, that is an admin who is logged into the admin controls via in-game login. Admins have the ability to Kick, Ban, Lock, Password, Change Map, Shutdown and Start Up the server. Other than that, no other player-affecting abilities come to mind. If you have a problem with happenings on the server, contact us directly by joining our teamspeak server (ts.armaderp.com) and messaging either myself, |Shadow| or TheCamel. Or, you're more than welcome to post in our forum at www.armaderp.com

Hackers killed the server in AU 5
manta-avoid replied to Wehmer's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
No idea, a shame about the server incident. If you do end up having problems with AU 5, please join up on our Teamspeak server (ts.armaderp.com) and send a message to either myself, |Shadow| or TheCamel. We're more than happy to assist, and are committed to maintaining a healthy server community and admin standards. Our forums can also be accessed at www.armaderp.com -
I've had a look our forum registration process, and it's worked for me. I've tested the mathematics question with both text and numerical answers - working I've tested the Pre-Capcha and regeneration of the challenge - working, with problems. (Challenge must be regenerated manually, it does not automatically regenerate if you fail the registration) Please feel free to retry at any time. If you continue to have problems, contact me directly via PM here on the DayZ forums.

Mate, I understand. I'll have a look through our forum registration process to confirm what's going wrong here. If you were kicked for a script violation, it can be a cause of two things: Accessing the Dedicated Server Control window - You are a player, and you have no business being there. As such, we have an automatic kick in place for this. Your character was involved in an illegal script execution from another player, for example when a hacker executes ThunderDome on you. All players targeted by illegal scripts are automatically kicked to prevent harm to your character. Apologies for disrupting your gaming experience. We would prefer it if you did not suffer at all, but occasionally we have very few choices in how to deal with these problems.
