NOPE. -
Good stuff. Sounds like you know what you're doing, and I don't doubt you're yet to do what I would have done. Keep at it.

You're shaking from constipation man, you need to shit.

Wrong place to post this, I think - try Cheat Reporting.

Admins : Start policing your shit.
manta-avoid replied to tandwan's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This is not necessarily true, AFIK. Until recently, there were no community-written tools or dev-created tools for policing servers, other than BE, BEC, and BERCon. A lot of people are pretty keen to host a DayZ server, and they jump right into it without researching their tools. Then they have to put up with huge amounts of hackers, violations etc and they are denied the basic human-level detectors to ID who needs to be punished. It isn't easy. And with the advent of the 1.7.2.5 update, a lot of info that my team and I would normally use to police our server efficiently has been denied us. Trust me. It isn't easy. And we don't like what we're currently doing to get the same result. -
What are your current Video settings in game? What about your video card's settings, on your desktop? Also check that you aren't experiencing any huge HDD I/O (ie, antivirus scan action) going on in the background, while you're playing.

These guys are right. The moon phase is set to the phase for the current date, however it's the phase for the Northern Hemisphere. if you have a google calendar, pick the moon phases calendar as well - you'll know ahead of time when you can expect bright nights, and when you can expect to have to lurk around...with company.

That's right. The post is just to prove they lift bans by umbrella, too.
-
Actually, they did: Global Bans in ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead [ 10.08.2012 • 13:45 ] We're aware of the global banning issue and are investigating since yesterday. Appropriate action will be taken if a false-positive scenario is found. If that is indeed the case we're terribly sorry for it and will take measures to prevent this from happening in the future. An update will be posted once more is known. Update: The issue has been investigated with the help of Ondrej Spanel (BIS lead programmer) and we found that there is a possibility of a race condition on BE's side during the game's disconnect process. It can essentially destroy the integrity of the environment that BE expects and trigger a certain detection. The problem has been fixed and all of bans of the past two days that could have been triggered by such a condition have been removed. There might still be cheaters among those, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that the innocent players should be unbanned now. We're honestly deeply sorry for this and will do everything to ensure that something like this won't happen again.

What are you, French?

DUDE. STOP POINTING THE GINGER FINGER AT ADMINS. They cannot do these things. ONLY hackers can. READ: We don't have the ability to spawn in items/teleport

DayZ people... do you play ARMA?
manta-avoid replied to ruhtraeel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sure I play other ArmA II mods, but I prefer vanilla Combined Ops. I'm looking forward to trying out the new DLC, Army of the Czech Republic. That should be pretty interesting :) -
A Hacker has ruined my DayZ Experience...
manta-avoid replied to Chronokiller's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Add: 3. The player slot you occupied when you joined the server was previously occupied by the offending player. So he left before the admin put the ban command through, but not before (or at all) realising that his ban command by playerslot would take effect on you. Did you appeal this ban on that server's forums Chronokiller? -
A Hacker has ruined my DayZ Experience...
manta-avoid replied to Chronokiller's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
That's a shame, Chrono. Have you heard of myg0t? They live for this sort of reading material. Best not to post stuff like this if you can help it. Which server was this? Admins get things wrong, too. And some are quick to jump to conclusions without fully-backed evidence. -
Looking for the owner of Anarchy DayZ [US - RI] 1.7.2.4/95417
manta-avoid replied to Brandnew11980's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sounds like the server might have gone down, or your internet connection could have had a hiccough. It happens, though. Keep at it though! This game is really enjoyable with at least one or two good friends, amd one good server. Even if you do have to wait, and spam Enter for ages :-) -

hehe... BUTTHURT! At 2:30am, I just *have* to say it. Anyway if you're not going to pay attention to my post, and tell me I'm trolling, well then. I must be trolling then? tl;dr, quit your bitching and get some nuts. Do something about your situation that solves both long and short term goals. If you refuse to be a part of a server's community via forum/voice server, and want to rely on side chat, then all you need do is play on servers that run a particular version. It is THAT easy. Far be it from me to suggest you play on a server with proactive admins... -

@ Takfar They just set themselves up to fail by broadcasting all the necessary details to land a hit to everyone on the server, regardless of the recipient's intentions. That's why I would rather you used a voice server. Because you can control who you talk to. -

Define 'works' - AFIK the only anti-cheat that is immune to leading-edge hacks is the proprietary engine used by CCP, for EVE-Online. Now, that would be nice to have, but you see, ArmA II works differently to EVE, and so it is unsuitable to employ in this environment. In saying that, you are lucky to have any protection at all. But moving onto your point regading teamspeak and voice servers: Find one. Visit the forums or webpage associated with the server. Search for details, and failing that post a request for one. Failing that - email the webmaster. Sure you might not get a response. If that's the case, the team responsible for your chosen server are blithering idiots, and don't need your custom. Go play elsewhere. Rather than playing on ISP-hosted servers, look for the unique servers. Contact their admins, find out if they are readily available to respond to hack reports, and how best to report them for that server's admin team to address them. Mate, all in all you sound a bit butthurt by this, and I can understand that. But you have to be pro-active in addressing these shortcomings. You have to have the initiative to seek what you need. No-one owes you these things. Yes they are relevant to your gaming enjoyment, but if you prance about with a prima donna attitude on the internet, you won't get anything. No hard feelings, but get out there and find something that works, or MAKE IT HAPPEN. -
He's onto you, woman! Of course girls play DayZ. So do transsexuals, transvestites and hermaphrodites. :-)

Guys, forget side chat. Get with the flow of modern gaming. Just get on the server's mumble/ventrilo/teamspeakchannel, and set a key to whisper to one of the admins. You don't need to tell other players there's a hacker. Only the admin. -
Where are the arma II patch files located?
manta-avoid replied to Muncywolverine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Try google, however you've asked here so I don't see why you should just be given a stupid answer. Information on using Beta Patches Beta Patch Download Location Directory Structure location of Beta: Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\Beta -
Check Dayzdb. com or.. Why don't you... Load up Combined Ops, open up the armoury or editor and try it for yourself? Get a feel for how these weapons sound and behave, because like it ir not, you will be on the recieving and of each one. And it is in your best interests to know their basic characteristics, eg sound, rate of fire, effective range.

Haven't seen a respawn on AU 5 yet.

AT TIME: 8:42pm GMT +10 13-AUG-2012 AT SERVER: AU 5 WHAT HAPPENED: I'd connected to AU 5 at about 8:15pm (GMT+10) tonight - located in forest. Heard footsteps very close-by, no visual. Logged out to confirm if it was any of our crew who were on Teamspeak, but not in the same channel. None of our guys. Didn't log on again until the server was restarted at 8:30pm. I logged in once the server was back online, and relocated 50m to the west, lay prone and observed the area. Shortly after (8:42pm) I heard footsteps, and began recording in FRAPS footage at full res. Looked around, to my left - and a satchel charge had appeared there. I panicked and rolled away. I then rolled back towards it, and tried to defuse it - no menu appeared for me to interact with it. Then heard foosteps running away, still no visual on the player. The charge was then detonated. I was logging GUIDS on connection. I have a list of GUIDs for players who were connected from 8:15pm to 8:45pm Complete GUID List Line 1 entered approx 8:15pm. Line 53 entered approx 8:32pm GUID List of players who were present at 8:15pm, and connections from 8:30pm to 8:42pm Video will be posted tonight. Private Link active. Please forgive the dated filenames - I was stuck in the past. They're supposed to be name-dated for 13-AUG-12.
