    Jesus, are you here just to argue with everyone? Regardless of how they feel about the topic? I'm not saying they should remove mouse acceleration. I'm perfectly happy with the controls the way they are. They could always have the anim speed and inertia change by varying amounts depending on total gear weight, what type of weapon your trying to spin around. But of course the crysis fans will still say controls are wonky, there is no real winning against the anti-realism crowd. But, like KOS and Dsylecxi before him said its ArmA's filter against COD kids. Guess that's about as win as it gets. Regards.

    Hi. There shouldn't even be a crosshair in this game. Leaving that in was one of Rockets biggest blunders, right up there with 3PP. There's obviously better ways to simulate weapon+gear weight and how it all effects turning speed than using mouse acceleration, but that said, the current method doesn't bother me at all. I have no problem what so ever with aiming, reaction time, or moving(except getting stuck in the occasional doorway, though that has nothing to do with the mouse acceleration). Not sure why people find it so difficult. Either way it doesn't really matter, Rocket will make it however he sees fit, regardless of what the >insert some trashy arcade shooter title here< types think. Regards.

    LMAO ! Thanks, that just cheered me up a bit. :D Don't get me wrong, I'm not laughing at your expense, and to be honest I WISH chernarus was that new to me, while I have enjoyed exploring the new addtions to the map, it would be so much better if the whole thing was new. I basically knew the whole map before the DayZ mod was even released, so the ability to get lost would be better than a can of beans. Regards.

    Hi. Doesn't sound like a trap or anything :D I find mosins every day, usually multiple mosins, but I can never find a LRS. Actually, my luck finding optics on my hardcore character is so bad, that since the hardcore servers started up, I've been carrying both a mosin and M4 to see which one I can get geared first lol. It's so bad I'm almost tempted to join the douche brigade and server hop, almost. Regards.

    To the server hoppers in NE Airfield.

    Hi. There's way too many server hoppers. So many times when a server resets while I'm playing, I will come back in and head for the air base. Since I'm generally alone on the server at that point, I watch the player list and count the hoppers. There's usually always a barrage of single players and groups that come in for 2-5 minutes then split. Needless to say by the time you(as a legit non-hopper) get to the air base the LRS's, magpuls and m4 optics are gone lol. So yep, I tend to look down on server hoppers more than combat loggers. Some douche combat logs, you lose your chance to kill him waaaa, these douche hoppers clear out the best gears before legit players can get there. Then they hop to another server and screw those players over too. I've seen them doing it in groups of 5. How goofy is that lol. Basically I guess I'm just trying to say you server hoppers can eat the peanuts outta my shit. <_< Regards.

    Turn on post processing

    Hi. It would be ideal if the injury PP wasn't tied to the PP settings. Then you could turn the effects off for overall performance and a sharper image, yet still get the blurry vision when injured. IMHO the effect does a great job of reducing a players combat effectiveness while injured. While I've never been shot IRL, I somehow doubt you would be much of a threat after. Regards.

    Hi. I personally would trust Dwardens knowledge about the RV engine. He's been helping people optimize their ArmA games for a long time. To the people that say they notice the difference in game though, are you sure you weren't just testing on a less laggy server or experiencing less lag at the time? I know I personally have never experienced action bar lag and have only had a delayed response when dropping objects a handful of times, it's generally instant, unless dropping them inside a building.     Hi. You know that example is most likely flawed due to the fact the dude has probably practiced that move thousands of times, with the target in the exact same location, until his entire body is actually trained for it. See what happens to the show when someone moves the target 12 inches up and to the side. Without the intense practice it would take to be able to do that, nobody would have a chance of pulling it off. Though I'm not arguing for or against the mouse acceleration, just pointing out a fairly obvious flaw with your example. Regards.

    Hi. Wow OP, just a tad o'er the top, no? :D I do however find the typical 'PRIVILEDGE of renting them' responses rather amusing though. After all, where would this game and all it's players be without those people that actually pay for the servers. If anything, I kind of think its Bohemia that is 'privileged' enough to have the playerbase provide the servers. Don't get me wrong though, IMHO Bohemia is the best action game devstudio there is, hands-down. Regards.

    Hello again. I tend to agree, I never defended the mouse acceleration. This isn't actually an engine related thing, It's more a Rocket preference, and like others have shown he is aware it needs tweaking, so hopefully by the time this thing reaches even beta status he will have a system in place that everyone can enjoy ;) Regards. Well yes this is personal opinion/preference, but still, there are a lot of people that will disagree, and like myself just can't enjoy the more arcade-styled shooters made in other engines over the past 13 years. Don't get me wrong, I loved unreal tournament and other similar games until Operation Flashpoint hit the shelves. But alas, that would be my personal opinion/preference. I'm sure we could both type till our fingers bleed without convincing the other of anything :D But I have to say, you will never catch me in a COD or Crysis forum telling them they should have used an engine that I prefer.     Hi Ulf. Like I already said, the clunky movement inside buildings isn't caused by the mouse acceleration, its the anims. Pretty sure the patchnotes said getting stuck in doorways is fixed. Though I didn't bother testing this time around, the mad rush to get in a test server just doesn't seem worth it. Regards.

    Hi. I figure the only real way to combat server hopping is to enable gear respawn, which I'm pretty sure is supposed to happen sooner or later. Then the hoppers can gear farm the barracks or whatever until someone snipes them :D Having to wait 5 minutes(or whatever) to log into another server might annoy them, but it isn't going to stop them.   17. Hi. Without reading the whole thread, my answer to OP would be stealth, followed by your number 2 patience. I say stealth because when you are good at it, you usually spot others before they spot you. That tends to buy you time to plan your next move. With good stealth skills you can either slip away, or you can follow the other players until they put themselves in a bad position, then as long as you have the right weapon(assuming you know how to aim), it can be fairly easy to take out a group of 3 or 4 players before they even realize where you are.     Hi. It depends on the type of zombies we have in game really. The classic George Romero/The Walking Dead type zombie obviously wouldn't be climbing ladders, hell they wouldn't even be running. However the 28 Days/Weeks Later rage infection type(which I believe is more like what we have in DayZ), do climb ladders/use door handles and such. I'm all for making the Zeds as hard to get away from as possible, but if the community reaction to the Zed buffs in the mod is anything to go by, they will remain pretty crappy. Regards.

    Hi. My response to OP question would be probably not. IMHO KOS is more a players style/mentality than a gear hunting thing, especially since it may ruin the gear that you wanted in the first place. I think a good/funny way to get someones gear with the new patch would be to stealthily follow them around, then when they log out run up and steal their gear before the character despawns :lol: Would be funny logging in and 1/2 your shit is missing.     Hi Ulf. Sorry I wasn't even referring to the mouse acceleration. Just the comments I saw about the engine sucking and being unrealistic. People having problems moving inside buildings should blame the anims not the mouse though. Regards.

    Hi. I get a kick from people saying the RV engine is garbage and there's nothing realistic about it. I guess that's why so many militarys around the world have spent so much money on it for simulation training.     Hi. While I agree custom paintjob/texturing would be entertaining, it would take up too much server bandwidth causing lag. This is why the DayZ mod server admins typically had custom faces disabled. The only way I could see this being feasible is if it was client-side only, but of course that would kind of kill the whole point of it. Regards. PS is the 1 round mosin bug fixed in the test build?

    Hi. Other than actually making a system that flags people in pvp I don't think there is any way to differentiate between your game crashing or alt-F4'ing. So basically if you have troubles with frequent game crashes/disconnects you are screwed. Regards.

    Hi. How hard can it be to code something along the lines of, if player uses weapon player and his/her target get 15 minute pvp flag. logout during said 15 minutes can't be done. Anything causing client to close/crash during said 15 minutes makes you stay in game defenseless for the remainder of the 15 minutes. I personally think that would be more punishing for the lamers than the 30 seconds, without causing issues for people not in combat. Regards.
