Are you serious? -_- They've been working on adding new villages and improving everything to make the standalone great, making most buildings enterable and so on... and now they'd delete everything and take one more year to build an entirely new map...? Nope. Also, they don't have to just remove Chernarus, they can create another map and keep both.... but I prefer that they focus on Chernarus right now, and making the SA awesome

Listen up kids, it takes math skills to be a sniper! ;)
-
Rocket is already considering litter, as for when you eat a can of beans and leave the empty can on the floor, and that could be a nice way to track people down. Also, that about the backpack leaking items would be kinda cool, but REALLY annoying... so if some bambi with a bad aim hits your backpack, you're screwed :/
-
I think the damage dealt by the gun should be the same, although it could lower a bit the more damaged it gets. I think the way to go is having the aim become less and less accurate, but not to an excessive point
-
Sounds awesome, they should really add this to the game I like your ideas, but this one doesnt sound good... I think some players would eventually abuse this privilege, and they'd end up with some disturbing images on their clothing for everyone to see x)

The easter egg idea sounds cool, but as you said, it cant be something silly nor simple. Your idea was good, but we'll see what they come up with if they do add this. Also, turn the heat up during summer, turn it down during winter, and you have a realistic gaming experience - you'd have to drink water more often during summer, and you should really get a jacket or make a fire during winter time, or you'd freeze...
-
That sounds great to me, it would add to the realism of the game, but also make it harder to keep something for a long time, and it would force people to go back to cities for looting if they're trying to keep away from them, which I think might be good. But how would you know if a gun or hatchet is wearing out? Would you get some sort of warning, would it change appearance...? Or maybe a damage bar (like you get in Minecraft)?
-
I'm not sure about the car key idea... yes, it would be more realistic, but how would you hotwire the car? Would you have to get some special equipment, or could anyone do it? About adding new islands - I think the world is pretty big already and you have plenty of good spots to make a base. A new island could be good, but only if it was small and not very far from the coastline, but I don't see the need to add a new one ;)

I find that really cool actually! You'd be able to tell a lot more about the person you killed or found. It wouldn't just be "another dead player", it would add some more individuality to each person, you have my beans :D
-
Awesome idea, it would be a great addition to the game, and add to its realism
-
I think that would be fine, but it wouldn't have a save option, and it would instead save only the highest scores - most players killed, most zeds killed, miles walked, etc. The "alive time" would be counted as how much time you're actually playing. Good idea though, but I dont think you'd get any reward or gratification for having high scores, I think the game does it itself ;)

That sounds like an good idea, but would you have some sort of additional slots to place the dog tags (thus making them visible to other players), or would you just hold them in your inventory, or something like that...? On the other hand, if the players where civilians before the said "apocalypse", why would they all carry dog tags? Also, this would greatly increase player killing :/
-
I get what you mean, and I actually agree with that. It is not very realistic for you to put some ammo on a full backpack and for it to get destroyed... it would be much more pleasant to get some kind of warning, or just to not be allowed to place the said item in the backpack

I think death already matters enough in DayZ, a timer after death doesn't sound like a good idea and would actually be really annoying and not very welcoming to players who get spawn killed. But changing the permissions on looting would probably be a good idea ;)
-
The landing animation looks a bit odd, but otherwise I find it kinda cool :D Not very realistic, but still...
-
Nice ideas you got there, although if the game had all these, Chernarus would be destroyed in less than a week xD

Dayz standalone suggestions are just getting out of hand.

I don't actually agree, I think it would jut be a waste of time doing so, but hey, i respect that opinion but it's way too much realism -
How to be "friendly" without getting killed?
BdogZ replied to adunato's topic in New Player Discussion
Don't know if banditing is actually a good tip, kill people who you find will threaten you, this is, if you have a camp, for example, you don't people wandering around it -
There are some great beginner guides in this community, as well as a DayZ Wiki, which provides some more tips and other info. I would recommend checking these, but you learn from experience, you'll see that after some days playing, you'll be used to the controls and if you follow the tips, you might succeed on surviving for a long time :)

If you're playing in a private hive (a private server) it will only save your progress on that server. If you play on a public hive (public server), your progress will be saved so that whatever public server you choose, you'll be on the same spot with the same gear you had when you disconnected :)

Exactly. Do not trust anyone, and anyone you see might be a possible threat, so either kill them or keep them in sight at all times -

First of all, always try to see them before they see you - this means you can talk to them while they cannot see you, and take control of the situation. Second, always make clear you WILL shoot them if they point their gun at you, so never loose them out of sight. So always be in control of the situation and you will eventually be able to engage in a talk, but still, NEVER trust anybody you don't know. Just because you've been talking to someone for a few minutes doesn't mean they won't shoot you when they have an oportunity. Also, on the second case you described, the player may not have heard you. This happens sometimes, so always make sure the other player can hear you, otherwise type in the chat. If you are pretty sure the player heard you, but he didn't answer, you should really look out for him, as he might want to kill you -
I'm portuguese too, but I think that if this was in english it would be way more appealing to the community :)

150 players in a map... that's gonna be a little bit claustrophobic, as I don't really know if a lot of players are going to stay near the big cities... But I would like to see how that works, even though player encounters will turn a lot more regular. But what is really making me look forward to the standalone is the fact that we will now have to find batteries (which makes a lot more sense than having infinite everything), the new guns, zombies mechanics, and as I am a lone-wolf most of the time, the idea of new hunting objects, and wild animals sounds thrilling :)

So your story is that you almost fell asleep, touching the trackpad, when you were accidentally pointing your gun directly at his head... I would understand him if he didn't believe you xD
