I'm not a bandit myself so I don't really understand their point of view, but I think some bandits just do it because they are bored...

I don't kill unarmed people of course, survivors only if they attack me or are going the same way as I am, sometimes feel a little guilt. Bandits, whenever I have the chance and it doesn't possibly put my survival in a lot of danger. Killing a bandit... feels like you've made justice, in a certain way :) But never let anything get to you, of course. A millisecond distraction, or getting your guard down after shooting can kill you -

You should write more, a whole DayZ journey, from the moment you begin until you eventually die (like a series). Would be pretty cool ;) Really enjoyed the reading, have some beans

My guess would be, you wouldn't take the whole survivor with you, of course xD It would be just like you do with cows and such, you must have a hunting knife, and you would take pieces of meat, which you would then have to cook Well, maybe it should be even higher than 50% *-* If it doesn't have a high penalty, it will only work as another excuse for players to kill each other, and it should only work as an act of desperation and starvation

What's up guys, BdogZ here, just another gamer girl who absolutely loves post-apocalyptic games, DayZ being the best out there, in my opinion. I'm from Portugal btw, and I have skype if you want to contact me. Now where's my standalone! :P

Exactly, it should only be a last resort sort of thing, that being the reason why the chances to get sick/insane should be way higher, making the players think twice before nomming on a dead body. It should also be restricted by the way the player died, and what his conditions were before his said death (you wouldn't be able to eat a player who died from sickness or infection)

This was very eye-oppening, but I don't completely agree with you, although i respect your opinions. I believe most players have great experiences in this game, and yes, there is no objective or storyline to it... but do you really need one? If it did have a storyline, you wouldn't feel free to do whatever you want, and most important, survive in whatever way you can. As for the Pvp, bandits, players killing each other, I just think... it's a post-apocalyptic game, you can't trust anybody, and if players couldn't kill each other, it would take out some of the "realism" in the game. So the Pvp just helps create this rather realistic illusion of actually living in a post-apocalyptic scenario :)

That's a nicely structured idea you got there. Although, I think the chance to get insane and/or sick should be higher. Another suggestion, if you killed a player by shooting him, it would "infect" the body, so you wouldn't be able to eat him? Also, if the meat was cooked, the chances of getting sick/insane would drop :)
