Considering that DayZ Standalome will most likely have and not have a CZ550 and M24 (respectively), let's move the discussion to CZ vs Mosin, which is better based on experience from both games?
-
Yes you would, its based on caliber and the AKM fires an intermediate round.

Thank you, I love to prove the idiots who critisize intelligent people wrong.

I honestly must say this a load of bumbling shit. I can say from experience and countless hours of study on sniping and marksmanship, all of these weapons are in their correct categories. I would say he is more correct in every way than you. DMRs The DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle M14/T44/M21), notice that no where in there does it say sniper, long range, or anti-material. It is a converted battle rifle (m14), made specifically for engaging targets out of the range of the typical 5.56x45mm assault rifle. It was never intended to be a sniping weapon, and the m24 is much more commonly used by law enforcement. The SVD is also a DMR, issued with the PSO-1 scope, a 4x close-medium range scope, while your average M24 is issued with an advanced Leupold 10x long range sniper scope, you can see my point. Sniper Rifles Although most uneducated people in his topic (you know who you are, don't be embarrassed, you only sound dumb when you think you know a lot) would say that the M107 (originally the M82) and AS50 are sniper rifles, and to some extent you are right. Both of these weapons were designed to be accurate and powerful at very long range, but their high caliber automatically makes then anti-material rifles, no matter what. The M24 is a dedicated sniper weapon, built from the ground up as a high accuracy, long range rifle. The CZ550 is a hunting weapon, not manufactured to the same quality, or designed with the same purpose. Hunting weapons are designed to be simple and able to hit a fat deer at ranges under a kilometer with a reasonable chance (don't bitch about this, it's a generalization stating a general point). The M24 is designed to be used a highly trained specialist team in high risk areas on high risk missions, not to bring down a buck from 150 meters. Anti-Material Rifles High caliber (.50 BMG, 12.7x108 Russian, etc.) rifles, even if designed for sniping, are not sniper rifles. No matter what, an AS50 will always be a AM rifle because of its caliber, and no matter how much you bitch and whine, is not gonna fucking change. That raps up my rant, I congratulate Zantiago for being the biggest shithead on this post, and congratulation aids of being the most intelligent.

When people ask me why I started shooting at them, killed them, etc. I say that Day Z offers a unique combat experience. You are in a battle, you move to cover and your leg break, oh no. You decide to test out your new AK-74 you found in the fire station, and suddenly the former population is now battling with and against you. You line up the perfect shot, but your enemy shoots first and your aim goes to shit and you bleed. These are things unseen in any other game, and when you stalk your prey, put a lot of effort into the kill, you get a rewarding experience unavailable in any other game. If your kill fails, do a rage quit and come back in a few hours and do it all over again, no two kills are the same, and each one has a rich story that can be told from both points of view. And when people call bandits (I mean the KoS ones, not the old fashion ones) physcopaths or sociopaths, you must remember it's a game, and people like to have different lives in games, I play KOTOR as a major dark side asshole but I help the elderly in real life. Don't take a game to seriously, and remember to have fun, even when you are on the receiving end.

A tactic I use a lot when there aer helicopters (friendly or not) circling around the map, I ask for a pickup, I say that I just spawned or have tons of gear but a gun (m4a3 for example) with no ammo. I camp 200-450m away from the landing zone, and when they land, take out the pilot, then the gunner facing you, then any survivors I go in for a close range mop up with a shotgun, preferably loaded with pellets, or an aks-74u.

Tell us about your most recent kills!
Nothing1231 replied to tacticalbanana's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So here is my first post on Day Z forums! So me and my team (Its a 6 man team, including me) We where flying around in our helicopter (We have 4, 2 are multipurpose, 1 is for raiding and 1 is for air-ground assault which we were fueling up), looking for fuel. Since every fuel station we went to had no fuel tanks (a hacker went on earlier and blew most of them up), so we decided to use the last of our fuel to go to Balota, I pilot it towards there, expecting nobody as about 10 people were on at the time. I go in for a landing and about 24 meters off the ground we see 2 players running into the woods. I take it up to 100m and tell the gunners to open fire. The m240s, which are not especially accurate, only 1 shot hit. He went down, and I took it down to 50m, he had woken up, and I instructed him to put his gun down. Normally I would have told the gunners to replace his chest with a good size hole, but I wanted to flush his teammate out of hiding. He begged us to leave him and his teammate alone. I hovered it there for about 30 seconds, fuel at about 3%. He came to his buddy, and shot our main rotor once with his m4a3 cco sd, but my left gunner, kaVAPOR, made sure he didn't fire the second shot. I gave him a quick explanation of why I made him surrender, and then we shot him. Just before we shot him, I saw out of the corner of my eye a guy with a as50. He fired a shot at me, hitting about 2cm from the my head. I took it back up to 100m before he could fire again. We made about 3 passes around the airfield before the we got then. We landed just as the fuel ran out. I didn't even have to turn the engine off. We fueled it up and went back to camp. Another short one is about stealth. So our team was checking out a heli crash near Stary. We got an m14 aim and some medical supplies. Just then we saw a guy named Quarzago yelling friendly as he landed his AH6X Little Bird. He got out and we said we were friendly. As he checked the heli for weapons, a 7.62mm bullet went though his skull into his brain and then out again. He had made a hard landing so the heli wasn't taking off again. As his teammate came back to get the heli (we told him we left it alone, in reality we hid his body and waited). We damaged it even more for no reason. He landed his Mi-17 and I got in the back. He didn't even notice I was in the heli until I shot him with the PKP mounted on his own heli.
