Removal of elevation adjustments by 100s of meters.
frosti replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Don't forget that players have unreal stamina and can run 24/7 and never get tired, so trying to hit someone who have unreal stamina with real life gun can be tricky. -

Do our characters not have immune systems?
frosti replied to Really Old Man's topic in General Discussion
I drank it right now to see what will happen. I guess now I am waiting for death. -
I once broke my legs while trying to get close enought to m4 under the bed.
-
Will wait at night and check if it eliminates the flash (if I survive to night time).
-
Is it just me or actually crouch running is faster then standing running? Normal run not sprint. For me it feels like I run faster when crouched.
-
Took Tetracycline and it showed up that I had infected wounds (prob after zombie hit). Tetracycline cleared my wounds and I got my healing/healthy buff back. Long live crouch run.
-
Possible that crouch run drains stamina, becouse I was eating and drinking alot but since I did this crouch run I lost my healthy/healing buff and can't get it back even if I drink and eat to full, I just vomiting. Will wait and rest and see if my healthy/healing buff comes back when I stop crouch running.
-
Flash-running? What's that?
-
For me crouch run feels louder becosue guy moves his legs faster and make more constant noise. EDIT: After some more research I think that character indeed stomp louder when crouch run.

Looking tactical

For me , the question is not how much KoS should tehre be, but rather what consequences there should be.
-
Well they kinda did write it down everywhere that it is alpha and you should not buy it, unless you really, really know what you are getting yourself into.

If not limited m4a1 accuracy (to 100 meters) you would be dead in 2 shots. So support m4 accuracy staying as it is for gameplay. You moved behind the cover and crouched or even went prone yes? And you were hit in leg? Or were you? More liekely you were hit in head. This is why: In Arma and so in DayZ when you are crouched or prone you are much more likely to be killed. That is becouse your character is build from (invisible to you) hitboxes. When you crouch or prone those hitboxes are ovelaping itself and it is more likely that you get shot in head hitbox then chest hitbox. In wiki m4a1 is 1 shot kill in body but it is from distance less then 50 meters. Some guy that was standing required me to shoot 6 bullets to his chest so he died. Other one required 4 in chest (he was also standing). I was shooting from 100-120 meters. If they were crouching they would probably die in 1 shot , becouse their head hitbox would be lowered. So keep in mind that crouching (and going prone) just looks tactical but in game it makes you more likely to die when shot at then if you would be standing.

It is normal. I also get those paranoia feeling after living for too long and when I am in high risk zone.

How can we make a players life more important than his gear?
frosti replied to knawx's topic in General Discussion
Couple ideas how to make player character life more valuable and other characters life too. Those ideas are to increase survival aspect of game and gamplay and have nothing to do with 'real life'. I like it. Add more over time character progression, like needing to eat and drink less. Make survived days count more then K/D ratio. Survival is 1% and PvP is 99% of the game. Make survival aspect important more. Problem with banditry is that it takes no effort or skill, KoSing is the easiest and most rewarding thing to do in game. To make a bandit earn the tittle of bandit and not another Call of Duty death match kiddie, it should be that in game you would getting hungry and thirsty much faster with every kill. That would make being a bandit to take some skill and effort, and would also justify bandit KoS life, as he need food, drinks much more so he continues to KoS. All reset upon death. PS. Getting hungry/thirsty much faster with every survivor/hero killed, you make people want to handcuff and rob other players instead of KoSing them. Other players would also rather be robed then killed if their life (progerss over time) would be worth something more then gear they have. -
Too exploitable to spot players hidden behind bushes, fences etc... Too confusing and it will not work on bigger scale.

Kill on sight... my group is doing it now
frosti replied to Nariquo (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I think you nailed it. Game is advertised as survival pvp but in reality pvp is 99% and survival is 1%. Survival is just marketing trick. Characters getting actually thirsty and hungry is step in good direction towards survival but I died only once from dehydration when I first played and completly didyn't know how it works. Now I didyn't died or worried about water or food for 20 in game hours. More survival please.
