Keep in mind that unarmed bambi is extremly dangerous becouse he can sprint much faster then you with a gun. He will sneak up on you and knock out you that way.

Pack shovel or basebal bat with you in case of such situation they usually 1-2 shots knock out. Eventually you can try knock him out with your fists. You could knock him down and not kill him with it, then use handcuffs/rope/duct tape to tie him for ~10 minutes I guess?

If we want them realistic then let's not forget that irl soldiers often remove plates from their vest, becouse they don't want to carry extra weight. In DayZ players can run unbelivable distance and carry weight isyn't even in game. So if I were dev, I would be really carefull with adding bullet proof vests to game.

Well how many times have you spotted a rabbit in game compared to how many times you spotted players? For me it sure as hell will be easier to hunt down players then animals or even camp for players will be easier then looking throught cities in search for can of beans. Players will be the easiet source of food in game.

I'll start one at NWAF. Just killing and eating players there will be much easier then hunting animals or scavenging cities. You will be able to just camp NWAF all day long and food will literally come to you lol.

Will be abused, exploited. Why search for a can of beans, or rabbits, when you can just kill a bambi, cook him and eat him, and even pack slices of his ass for later. Etc.

I have colored tape stripe sticked to my monitor that is 5 milieters long (half centimeter). Without zooming, if standing player is the size of it then he is 100 meters away. On the zoom if standing player is the size of it then he is 400 meters away. Just use halfs etc to find other disntaces (200m, 600m etc). Other method. Measure player height with the in game gray crosshair dot. Without zooming if standing player height is 2 crosshair dots then he is 100 meters away. Without zoom if he is size of 1 crosshair dot then he is 200 meters away. On zoom if he is the size of 2 crosshair dots then he is 400 meters away. On zoom if he is the size of 1 crosshair dots then he is 600 meters away.

PS. Right now there is crashed heli near balota swamps and other one that I know is near tanker, but they are only for decoration.

I'm pretty sure that some standalone servers in future will have settings that allow you to set waypoints on map or even know your exact position on map.

As it is now (player life being worthless) you will not likely make friends or team with players that you randomly meet in game. Only option now is some pre-made team on skype/teamspeak.
