Combat logging was easly fixed in DayZero mod of Dayz. You had to wait 30 seconds for log out timer and if you logged out sooner or disconected, your character dummy would replace you in game for 2 minutes and could be killed. Until there is no log out timers then you can't really ban people for combat logging.

any1 know how long bodies/dropped loot remain on servers?

As I recall in DayZ mod items droped by you stayed in place as long as you not moved more then 200 meters from them. Droped items would stay untill restart even if you logged out, but you had to log out within 200 meters from dropped items. In standalone I think it is similar. -

And lets not forget admins and admins friends. Public hives in my opinion just needs like 15 minutes lock, on switching/re-joining server, after logging on. -

You can tear shirts to rags, to use them as bandage (those without slots).

I kinda agree, except for the map size. I would not mind if map was 2x bigger then it is, even if it had to be only forest area.

In DayZ mod I used to stuff my backpack with toilet paper and empty whisky bottles. In standalone I stuff my backpack with books.

Similar history happened to me. I was looting barracks when I hear someone saying: "Drop your weapon and come outside with hands up!" I logged out and switched servers lel.

For weapons your best bet are firestations, barracks and ,military buildings. In those buildings with bar you can rarelly find mosin carabine and m4 in this big residental building type. In small houses you'll usually find at best food and water cans.

I agree. Also agree, dark night's without NVG are awesome. I also played about 4 hours, I crouched in the darkness for 3 hours untill finally some bambi decided to lit his flashlight, he died 2 minutes later :P

Maybe some of those guns are jammed as a feature.

Yep, if you want to live long then best is to stay away from pvp hot spots.

Bought standalone yesterday, survived so for 14 hours and counting, killed 5 people.

@Nihilum I want to get a guy uncoucious to test those ropes, duct tapes and handcuffs on him. But so far people die too fast :(

I was running throught the fields with Dallas Mask on my face and axe in hands when I encountered 2 guys with full backpacks, guns etc. They typed in side chat: " can you help us open the can?". I run away and hid behind the tree. When they turned their backs on me and bent over to refill their water bottles and cantina in the pond, I run up to them and killed them both with me axe.

Most of those youtubers are *admin friends* if you know what I mean or use hacks. To legitly find players your best bet will be cherno, elektro, balota and NWAF.

I think it's a bug/glitch. I often hear zombies screams, reloading sounds, clicking etc, and noone is nearby me.

In DayZ mod I didyn't died from hunger or thirst even once. Not even once. More, I didyn't even cared about food or water becouse that was no problem at all. This is how it should be in survival game? Nope. It felt like Call of Duty or Battlefield. Current hunger and thirst system in DayZ standalone feels alright. I finally feel like playing during zombie apocalypse where looking for food and water has point, and not only guns and ammo. -
There was a crash site little north from Devil's Castle. I had a gunfight there with one guy, I killed him but got myself wounded and fell uncocious for long timer ( 8 minutes I belive). The guy I killed just spawned at Devil's Castle run up to me in about 3 minutes picked a weapon from crash site and revenge killed me when I was there on ground uncoucious bleeding. Choosing spawn location is stiupid and should be removed imho and be restricted only to random of Cherno, Elektro, Berezino and Kamenka (coast areas).

Then Devil's Castle along with other places must have been added by server admins that I played on. Gonna suggest then on that server forum to remove far north spawn points then and keep only coast spawn zones. -

Well I can agree with choosable spawn location on the coast. But now when you can basically spawn all around the map DayZ feels too much Call of Dutish to me.
