I don't think the mod has done anything to deserve a M rating here in the US. Other than blood, which looks like red clouds of pixie dust spewing out your rear. I'm pretty sure the rating board is sensitive to guns n' stuff, with the political climate right now. I don't know what the mod has going for it in terms of ratings, but I don't care what it gets in the end. As long as we can keep anyone too young to recognize the birds n' bees and consider scripts they borrowed from the internet as legitimate hacks, I think the game will be fine as it is.

The first time I found a road flare, I decided to do a suicide run through Stary Sobor with the flare in hand. I was suprised to see that nobody got around to shooting me. But the amount of zombies trailing me was horrendous, and it took me about ten minutes of intense sprinting before I lost the last one. It was awesome. -
I was lucky enough to browse the threads before I started playing this and learned about private hives and the private hive section, so I never ended up joining a public server and meeting any hackers. And about Frankie, I enjoy his vids. Wether or not he hacks, I don't know. I think he just cuts out boring parts of the game(10km runs, lootless loot runs, other actionless parts). Frankie makes his vids cinematic so they'll actually entertain people, and don't ever consider it the kind of gameplay you want to learn from. Jackfrags is more skilled at the game anyways, but the game to me is not about skill. Its more luck and chance than anything.

I heard they implemented third person because it gave a 180 degree field of view instead of the 90 degree field of view granted with first person. I've always found first person immersive but it just isn't the same view as you'd get in real life, and I'm not even sure you could make it like that.

I'd rather have a .22 WMR, better known as the .22 magnum. My father owns a German bolt-action .22 WMR, Anschtuz if I'm correct. I could drive nails with it if I tried. Still, a .22 would be useless for PvP, much like the crossbow. Well, the crossbow is useless for everything pretty much.

I'm pretty new to the whole DayZ thing, but from what I understand, the vast majority of weapons are not from Eastern Europe. Since Chernarus is a fictional Eastern European nation, then why not have weapons from Eastern Europe? You could replace the M107 and the AS50 with the KSVK, a gun from vanilla ARMA. Why not get rid of the Lee Enfield and supplement it with the glorious Mosin Nagant? There are plenty of counterparts for the Western weapons in the game, and I don't understand why it can't be implemented. There are plenty of addon packs at Armaholic that the devs could source weapons from. I want to run around with a worn down Czech UK59 MMG, not some shiny new MK48 with a fancy red dot sight.

Your Shoot On Sight Threshold?

I've been playing for two days, and I have already killed one dude... Personally, I don't believe in KOS or banditry at all, but I can see how it is practical in its application. I won't shoot someone unless they don't respond with VOIP or sidechat, and if they do respond I don't hang around to chat. Besides, most people I've met over VOIP are sore buttholes. But not enough of one to make me shoot them. -
Yeah, I can see why. I know(roughly) the background of Chernarus, and I can understand having more civillan weapons in the game. Personally,the only gun I ever come across is the CZ550. One time I was in Kamenka, and I passed six barns. Every single one had a CZ with ammo. It was freaky.

Who needs gamma & brightness? Then again, who needs chemlights, flashlights, and NVG's? All I need is road flares. -
I did know that Chernarus was based off of satelitte images of the Czech Republic, but I had no idea they actually copied real buildings. Its amazing how much detail the people who developed the map put into it. But on topic, I think it was a good decsion to add the Sa.58 rifles(I'm Merican', and here we call it the Vz.58 :P), since Chernarus IS based off of Czech Republic. If they could replace some of the higher tier AR's with the guns from the ACR DLC pack for Arma 2, like the CZ 705 Bren and the Skorpian, I'd be tickled to death with happiness :)
