Getting your first kill is like losing your viriginity. Its all a rush, and the excitement overwhelms you. After that you get a boost in ego and some lingering guilt. By the second time however, its become apparent that you're now either lucky or a serious man whore. In this case, you're either an innocent survivor put in a bad situation or a greedy bastard. -
This guy has a Mac Pro. I can tell because he has two server CPU's(which work fine for regular use), but he also has a pretty weak graphics card. Why don't you go on Ebay or Amazon and look for a used/refurbished ATI Radeon HD 5870 if you can't afford it brand new. Then you'll have to install windows in boot camp, and it MIGHT work. But I don't know if ArmA can run in boot camp, so you'll have to try.

Set everything to Very High and High if it doesn't have the option, and PP and AA on. Don't like 3 frames a second on your 8800GT and Core 2 Duo? Too bad, because we need to reinforce the stereotype that only rich nerdy jerks with no life can afford PC gaming. Its not like Bohemia needs money to maintain updates for DayZ and ArmA 3, right? -
Not shure where to post this, so I'll just leave it here. I was just curious what graphical settings everyone plays on, as the quality of screenshots/videos on this forum varies greatly. I've been playing it with about 40 frames on Very High with AA on and Post Processing disabled, and some things set to high and medium instead of very high(like object detail and shadow detail). I see people on youtube who have pretty nice pc's that play this on pretty low settings with vegetation and shadows disabled so they can have some kind of tactical advantage(if there is one?). I don't believe in making my game look crappy just so I can squeeze out the extra frames. So brahs and brahs, what settings do YOU play on?

Same here. I've got a sort-of-mid range desktop, with a 7850 and the fx 8350. Of course, it helps to have a monstrous processor like mine because this game is pretty CPU intensive. What are your PC specs? -

I play on a gender enabled server because my GF plays with me from time to time. I suggest you check if your server has gender selection disabled and move to another one, or deal with the fact that your lady friend will be manifested into a mans body. Sounds creepy, right? -

If you don't like it, don't come to us and complain. You even mentioned you'd suggest things that would make the game better, but I don't see anything. And why would you complain that the scenario is unrealisitic when it DOES NOT EXIST. And shure, a lot of people KOS. But not everybody. Its a good 50/50 despite what some say, and that's what I've seen on just about every server I've played on. Why should we even bother reading this thread? -

I actually managed to get on to a server Frankie was playing on. I did make it in to one of his episodes, Hunted I believe. I was the guy with an M9 in the blue van, and I had agreed to help some guys kill the bastard. Of course, we all died but I managed to hit Jack once or twice. All in all, I didn't feel like God just because I made my way into a famous streamers vid. I just wanted to kill the bastard to prove he isn't some ultimate badass as people put him to be, and it was fun while it lasted. Some of the people I met on the server were pretty cool too, and we all had similar goals. It warmed my heart to see so many people working together to be total douchebags. -

The AKM is still my favorite assault rifle. It can be zeroed, has fairly good accuracy, and the highest damage among the assault rifles. Shure, it doesn't have a fancy red dot sight or scope, but it does its job well and its ammo can be found anywhere and everywhere. -

Utes should have its own loot, right? There are plenty of military structures and a few houses. Players on Utes may have better weapons but would have more trouble finding food, so they'd have to take annual trips to the mainland by either swimming or by boat. -
Wait, are servers going to become separated over players who live on Chernarus and players who live on Utes? Utes may not be huge, but it shure ain't a small map. I might even move there myself, see if I can clear out all the zombies and make it a safe zone. Anyone else share similar plans?

I turned down a DMR for a CZ550. I'd rather use something that needed skill, not a long range bullet spammer. I hope the standalone has something to counteract the effectiveness of sniper rifles at all ranges, to maker a fairer playing ground for those of us who choose not to snipe. -
DayZ Standalone and next generation consoles

With the PS4 and Xbox 720(probably) coming out this year, there is going to be a big push for game developers to either port or create entire new games for the new platforms. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that the PS4 will be running on a AMD APU with a 6670 SLI'ed with the APU's integrated graphics. That would run the mod in its current state on low to mid settings, but the standalone will be better optimized. So, could we be seeing a possible console port for the next gen platforms? How do you think this would affect the community, or the game itself?
