Your "Revenge is so sweet" story?

Well, I'd taken a new spawn under my wing. He was pretty new, and the same age as me. For a while me and him got along pretty well, but I was pretty cautious about giving him a gun. We came across a barn, and he found a Makarov. I told him flatly: "Put it in your backpack or I turn your cranial lobe into jello...". Well, he put in his pack. After another hour, both me and him had decent loot. After getting to trust him pretty well, I showed my friends camp. After mingling around in the tents, I made sure he hadn't picked up any guns. He didn't. Well, we stayed by the fire for a minute because our temperature was dangerously low. I decide its time to go. He offers to start the car, so I agree. He tells me he needs some food and walks back to the tents, so I go ahead and get in the car. Ten seconds later, everything goes white and the ominous hourglass appears before my eyes. The sneaky bastard waited this long to plant a satchel charge under the car. I spend the next day looking for gear when my friend joins the server; he also states he is accompanied by someone who needs anti-biotics. I'm angry that he is risking us all getting sick, but I get the three of us meds anyways. I see his White Tacoma roll up beside me, and they get out. Well, guess what? My previous "acquaintance" has teamed up with my friend. After clearing up the situation with my friend over Skype, we hatch a maniacal plan. After driving about thirty minutes, we pull up to a gas station near Vybor. I knock the lil' bugger out with my 1911, and we drag him to the building. There he is, unconscious, bleeding, and unaware of who I am. He screams over chat "WHAT THE HELL GUYS!". I speak up, "Remember me? Paybacks a bitch.". He goes silent. After dragging his body for 300 meters, we come upon an unusually large cliff. My friend, having another at the camp, decided it would be better to continue on foot. So, we get the sucker inside the truck, and begin to drive down the slope. I get out, and empty two magazines to make sure its nice and red. The truck rolls down and down, and flips. It rolls for another 30 meters before hitting a tree. Then, the whole area is lit up with the sound of its gas tank imploding. I haven't seen that shrewd coward on the server since.

    how do YOU play DayZ?

I make a break for the north, like a lot of people. I'll hit a few deer stands and barns on the way, just to make sure I've got good enough gear. Then, I'll stock up on food in Vybor before heading to the NWA. If I survive, I'll retreat to the center of Chernarus and go place to place looking for food, hopefully running across someone friendly. I like to stick to the country, I don't know why but Chernarus reminds me of North Carolina a lot.

    dayz female skin

We've seen the new female models for standalone and they're decent by my standards.

The best Dayz tip you have ever heard

Churches and smoke grenades don't get along very well....
  5. So, Griggs was right. There are black Russians.
  6. I agree with a lot of people about replacing our most common western weapons with their eastern European counterparts. The AS50 and M107 should be removed and replaced with the KSVK, a weapon that would be fairly balanced in its current state. You don't have to completely remove American weapons, just make them a whole lot rarer than they are now. And with the new attachment system, this is going to get rid of the billions of M4 variants. But I'd prefer to see the M4A1/M16 being replaced by the AK-74M, being more accurate than its AK-74 counter part. Plus, it can use more attachments. Why not make it to where certain guns can use certain attachments, like AK's using a Kobra only and an M4A1 using a Aimpoint only? All I'm hoping for is that Rokcet has removed too many weapons. It's going to be pretty bland having a choice of Pistol A or B, Rifle A, B, or C. I don't care if they're going to add more in the future, there needs to be SOME diversity even at release. If there isn't, I'll still purchase the game but I'll be pretty pissed off. When I was a noob, I thought there were too many kinds of guns to count. Now I know just about every gun in the game, but that's a load of guns. And cars, don't even get me started about "redoing" cars. I'm an ArmA player who's comfortable with the cars in game and how they handle, but I don't know how others feel. But when was the last time someone complained about the cars being bad? That's not stopping me from buying standalone either. I can go ahead and guarantee Rocket he's getting a share of my hard earned green :)

    My own back story

Hey guys, I posted this in a thread and it was a bit off topic. So, I'll make an entire thread for it! And please, please, please tell me what YOU think about it. Aight, homies? Okay, let me take a deep breath: I have my own personal theory as to why we are immune. Isn't it kind of strange how we can all exchange blood transfusions? Maybe we have a very rare blood type and the virus cannot attach and multiply off of our blood cells. The blood cells carry the virus to our brain, where it reproduces and takes control of our cognitive function. It then proceeds to kill only certain brain cells, leaving only the most basic functions intact(how to walk, scream, eat, drink, that kind of thing). This also makes the infected individual extremely violent, attacking any living thing within sight. But, a individual with said blood type can NOT be transmitted the virus because the virus cannot attach nor multiply off of their blood cells. Thus, they are immune to the virus. I assume that the virus was developed by the Chernarussian government under the guidance of the United States government. It was developed sometime after the South Zagorian war(play the campaign, its got a great story). It was developed at the Green Mountain radio tower, explaining the large presence of doctor/military zombies and the pile of dead bodies that I presume to be failed attempts at the virus. The viruses original intent was to be a biological weapon, but a mishap at the lab caused it to spread outside of the Green Mountain facility. The Chernarussian government is thus abandoned by its American allies and left alone to fight off the virus. After a year or so of military campaign, the military ceases to function as every solider has either died, succumbed to the infection, or deserted the military and become a survivor like us. With most, if not all of Europe and Asia also falling to the infection, the world would slowly collapse into chaos. I'm not going to imagine a scenario for the United States. So, what do YOU think?

    Find Agent .C

The first and only no pvp server I played on ended badly for me. I came across a group of fresh spawns on the roof of the hospital directly across from sniper hill, playing ring around the rosie around a campfire. My last frag abruptly ended their little "fiasco".
  9. You don't know what solo is until you've spent a week, alone, in Skalka. You'll come out a changed person.
  10. When I see someone, I do one of three things. A: Turn the other way and run screaming like a small child. B: Take inaccurate potshots at him while hoping he gets mauled by zombies. Or C: Spamming smoke grenades at a building hoping it will collapse.

    Need one or two players!!!

I saw "no one under 16". The first thing I thought was, "Damn, one more year! One more year and people will respect me! Meh, like he'd want to have oral sex with my pet goat anyways...."

    Chernarus real life

Someone get me plane tickets and plastic explosives. I'm off to rid the world of this evil.

    Chernarus real life

My DayZ feature length film shall be made here. Not sure how I'd get the Black Sea in there, since its bordered by a river. All I need now, is a production company, a couple dozen million dollars, a license from Bohemia Interactive for the name, and actors. I could hire some aspiring actors on this forum, but you won't get paid much. I can pay you in beans and roadflares, whichever you prefer. Oh, and some of you need to speak Russian. Chernarussian's don't speak Czech, and Chernarussian is just a dignified version of Russian. If it makes those fictional Chedaki bastards feel any better.

    Are they Zombies?

People call them zombies because it's the most common term for such, but they do not follow the predefined definition of a zombie. Zombies are dead, these are not. Zombies are decaying and thus cannot run, these can out run Usain Bolt in a 300 meter sprint. There is no defined back story, but I made my own and I'd suggest you check it out. It may not be official canon, but its what me and my friends follow by. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/134511-my-own-back-story/

    Your Dayz Hometown?

Using the DayZ interactive map, its 10th North parallel and 7th East parallel. Its in the middle, on the very bottom of the line. Its not the ingame map, I don't have a map or gps right now :( Oh, and I pray to God you don't play on Balota Buddies.

    My own back story

I think mine makes more in the long run. Also explains why we're immune.

    Your Dayz Hometown?

Just as much as everyone loves Skalka.
  19. Cap'n (DayZ)

    My own back story

I used the US because the virus hails from Chernarus: the United States is a close ally to the country(play the campaign!), so I can see them "using" the Chernarussian government to get around restrictions in the States. I'd imagine they would test it on captured ChDkz insurgents(play the campaign), and Chernarus is not a "developed" country per se. They are a newly found democratic republic and ex Soviet client state. Perfect place for the US to make the virus. Oh, and I had no idea it was based of Influenza. Where did you hear that?
  20. Cap'n (DayZ)

Can the SA look like this?

Well, the Source engine could not support an open world game because of the absolute shitty render distance. Plus, ArmA 2 can look very nice: If you turn up the graphics. So many people play on such low settings to get frames per second or because they have shitty computers, that it makes it very hard to enjoy some DayZ/ArmA 2 videos. High and Ultra settings look very nice, and High settings can be achieved with a middle end card(7770, 6870, GTX 650). I go looking for a decent benchmark video and all I find is someone playing DayZ on low settings with vegetation disabled. For a tactical "edge". Bull. Shit. But, seeing as they're using a new lighting engine and higher fidelity character textures, we can all enjoy the standalones IMPROVED graphics. Plus, no more blocky hands. I'm not the only person bothered by this, right?
  21. Cap'n (DayZ)

    Your Dayz Hometown?

That's why we have bear traps :P
  22. Well, zombies should be more of an equal threat as players. They should have a higher chance of infection(not zombie virus :P), and should do enough damage to make them a serious threat but not enough to be overpowered. I have my own personal theory as to why we are immune. Isn't it kind of strange how we can all exchange blood transfusions? Maybe we have a very rare blood type and the virus cannot attach and multiply off of our blood cells. The blood cells carry the virus to our brain, where it reproduces and takes control of our cognitive function. With most, if not all of Europe and Asia also falling to the infection, the world would slowly collapse into chaos. I'm not going to imagine a scenario for the United States as I'd presume they'd have enough knowledge of the outbreak as they were the ones developing it(guiding the Chernarussian scientists), and would have closed down every airport, quarantine every city/town, and gone into hiding somewhere in the Rocky Mountain range. Thus, they abandon their own people who would eventually succumb to the infection from the fleeing refugees of Europe. Okay, let me catch my breath.

    AK-74 series

Well, I'd much rather find the Kobra version. But ever since I first found the Sa-58p, I've fallen in love with it! The sights are WAY better than any AK, takes AKM magazines, has zeroing, and looks freaking awesome! I took one three ghillie guys in Stary with it, all of them had L85's and M4's. I killed them all. I recommend this gun over anything(well, I usually turn down OP guns :P)

    Your Dayz Hometown?

There is a small barn, a few kilometers down the road south from Polana. Its covered by the tree line from three angles, and I've found something useful there every time I stop by. There is a bus, sedan, and chopper crash spawn that within kilometers of the barn. I've found the sedan there just about every time. I have a few tents hidden in a patch of dense vegetation nearby, where I store food and ammunition: the useful things I find but don't carry with me everywhere. I keep a gun or two in the tent in case I die, so I can return and rearm. I've told stories by the fire to friends and strangers alike, and I now call it home. I find warmth, comfort, and peace away from the horror and hell of bandits and zombies.
  25. I wished my CZ would turn into a road flare.
