I got the dude with the sweet goatee and aviator glasses. Since my second character is a girl(don't ask why), the best I could get was the aviator glasses without a hat.

As you should know from previous devblogs, there will be no cars at the release of standalone. If you've seen me post on the standalone more than once, I'm a bit, uh, annoyed. Right now, Chernarus(technically only PART of Chernarus, as this only the South Zagorian province), is about 225 square kilometers. That may seem small compared to most countries, even American states, but it can take three to five hours to cross the entirety of the map depending on the route taken. When I first started playing, cars were something I'd never seen and frothed at the mouth at the thought of finding one. When I found my first car, I had the ultimate nerdgasm. I thought it was so cool, and I even still enjoy it today. I've only had two cars since, and that was in November. Back on topic, the new standalone map is going to be even bigger. Not by much, but it stills makes the difference. And with the addition of Utes, the removal of boats and helicopters will also make it a pain to leave the mainland for the amazingness that awaits. Now, I'm still pretty willing to make the long swim to Utes the waking day standalone comes out, but what about the mainland? Without cars, things will get a bit quiet. Nothing scared me more when I was a noob than seeing a Ural pass me in the middle of the night, driver swerving trying to hit my weak, untested character. And they're removing cars because, apparently, they don't "handle" too well. I'm so good at driving, I make Keanu Reeves(obvious Speed reference is obvious) look like a drunk, Asian woman behind the wheels of a bus. Even my friend, who is so horrible at anything to do with ArmA, can drive a freaking car OKAY. And about customization, how hard would it be to modify the textures so you don't have to remove the cars and completely rework them? I can understand it for weapons, but they'll still have the exact same textures as they do know, par the new ones. The only thing I'm okay with being removed is helicopters, as they make the map even smaller than a car does. One time, I was in the wilderness hunting for meat, when a random chopper flies overhead and the door gunner lights me up with 7.62 rounds as if I was a birthday piñata. So, does anyone agree with me? Do you hate my opinion so bad, you want to tear my head off just so you can spit down my gizzard? Please, please share your opinion. Criticism is nothing but helpful!

I prefer the CZ 550 to both, but I'd take the Lee Enfield over the Winchester any day.

The Chernarussian accent was so messed up. To me it sounded like they were French people speaking bad Russian(Chernarussian is Russian with a different name, if it makes them feel any better). -
My current character has been alive for nineteen days, which means he is the oldest.

Savor cars while they last
Cap'n (DayZ) replied to Cap'n (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This Eastern Europe, not Los Angeles. I'd like to see the Skoda from the ACR DLC for A2 added in some way. Such a lovely car, smooth ride, decent interior, not ugly. And the Tacoma(Hilux, I'm murican') MUST be added. If its not, some explaining shall be needed. -
This PC still not good enough.. (?)

You've got a decent mid range CPU & GPU, with those specs I'd expect you to handle well on even medium settings. I don't think that its your computer thats letting you down. -

Jack Daniels is the prime choice when breaking hospital windows. -

My First DayZ Experience With an UNfriendly Player
Cap'n (DayZ) replied to CannedPakes's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Similar things have happened to me, but I wasn't dumb enough to tell them what weapon I had. Besides, look for an AKM. Its the best assault rifle in the game. But still, roadflares are better. If you told them you had roadflares, they'd piss their pants. -
Good Old Friendlies: Let's Make a Comeback!
Cap'n (DayZ) replied to EyeoftheYeti's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm always friendly, but I prefer to stick to the woods of central Chernarus. When I do go out to get a better primary or some food and meds, I'm always aware I might run into somebody. So I make a big deal about seeing them first, and eventually trying to hold them up. It may sounds harsh, but I don't take any of their gear. I just don't like the idea of someone I don't know with a gun right behind me. So, I tell them to drop their gun and follow me back to my camp. I might give them some meds, cooked meat, or ammo, but I'll wait to give them their gun back. I'll place it far away, where I can get a decent shot on the player. And if I seem him again, I'm not taking any chances. -
I don't know if this is something others can relate to, but I don't feel comfortable talking to others over direct chat. I'm no bandit, but it makes it difficult for people to trust me. I have a decent, twenty dollar Logitech mic I bought for Skype. But I almost never use it unless I'm talking to someone I personally know. I can't explain why I'm so uncomfortable with talking to others, but it might have something to do with my age(I'm 14, btw). People tell me I'm mature, but I feel others might not give me full respect. I'm even afraid of getting kicked off of our server because I'm not an "adult"(that generally doesn't go a long way). I'm sure a decent bandit wouldn't segregate over who he shoots, but what about a potentially friendly player? And what if he plans on trolling me, just because? But my question is, is this a dilemma anyone else here can relate to?

Post nuke? Isn't that an alternate ending? I got one of the good endings, the one where you make it back successful. It had a good story and a believable back drop. If the voice acting and facial animations weren't so poor, this could easily be better than many of the triple A titles released every year. -

Cap'n (DayZ) replied to Cap'n (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've met people my age before, but half of them barely know any English. The majority of players on my server are Brazilian, bar a few admins and this creepy Canadian dude I once shared meat with. Out of all of them, none of them are the same age as me. Not even close. So I don't have a lot of people to relate to. Anyone else have a similar experience? -
So I went to the real Chernarus today..

I say we round up some of our favorite forum buddies here, and make a movie. I'd need a lot of CGI to make it look like there is an ocean, and it'd be a tight budget. But we could do it, and I'm sure some of the people on this forum could use an hour or two outside of their bedroom :P -

That's sounds like good advice. I'm a pretty calm, quiet person. I don't get super excited over much of anything, and I don't text speak or use slang in a normal conversation(I think people who do sound, frankly, like complete idiots). My voice isn't chocolate rain deep, but I'm not a squeaker for sure. Any ways, I think you had the best advice. -
I take insult when you mention Counter Strike. But otherwise, I can relate. I'm hoping the devs put some challenge into the standalone other than players. It would sure improve the immersion.

I want to review weapons for you.
Cap'n (DayZ) replied to RainbowDash101's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Many underestimate the true power of the flare, but their weak minds may not be able to comprehend its true power. Although there is no official damage rating, its damage is reportedly too high to measure in blood. I've killed everything from rabbits(can't ever hit the damned things), to pissed off hackers. The catch is, only a blessed few can master its true potential. And unfortunately for the Lee Enfield sniper at the Elektro hospital, I'm of those elite few. So I heed you warning, never cross me. For they will find you with your eye sockets scalded and your body covered with apple butter. -
DO YOU HAVE FOOTAGE OF YOU KILLING ME????
Cap'n (DayZ) replied to XLARGEGAMING's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I could record brutally murdering you, but I'd much rather record me sexually assaulting you. I have a fetish for pinky fingers... -
I lived in Redmond, Washington for a year. So much rain, you'd need a lot of heat packs. Not as many as Namaslk, but a lot. Unless they introduce jackest. I'd pay money to see that. And on another note, one of my favorite pals from the early days is back. Someone kill me and spare the pain ahead.

Who wants to see bears is SA?
Cap'n (DayZ) replied to mtls44555's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I love and hate Putin at the same time. He makes me have conflicting emotions. On topic however, I'd love to see some harmful wildlife. Wild dogs, wolves, bears, and wolverines. They'd have to be super rare and do less damage than zombies however. It would give those forest dwelling hippies a real challenge.
