I maintain a good 30-40 frames on ultra with a 750m by turning down the resolution to 1280x720p. I don't see much of a difference in picture quality, and I record in 720p so I get a 60 fps video instead of a 30 fps video upload speed with 1080.

The HD 5000 would be good enough to play on medium settings I'd assume.

If it has either a 320m or a 330m, it'll run okay. 30 frames with medium settings, low texture detail, no AA or PP, and a low view distance. My cousin plays DayZ on bootcamp with a MacBook pro with HD 4000, so you should do as well or better.

I see this logic a lot. Someone assumes that they have to become an asshole so they don't get killed by assholes. Well, you could be cautious instead of running up to someone expecting them to friendly. KOS doesn't solve everything, and it will do quite the opposite when you get that gracing bandit skin. Now we ALL have a good excuse to shoot you.

HD 4000 is suitable for just low frames, with an average of thirty, if luck forty frames.

High settings, 40 frames.

Even when people buy a good enough laptop to run DayZ on ultra settings, some asshole tells them that no laptop can run DayZ. If you play a grand for a dedicated gaming laptop, 9/10 I guarantee you that you can play at LEAST high settings. A freaking 650m handles fine on high, and you can get one of those in a $700 laptop!

Hello everyone, as you should all know, the standalone is being released very soon. These last few weeks of ardent and persistent waiting(and somewhat limited patience) have given me time to look back on where we have gone as a community. We all have one thing alike. We take out time of our lives that could have been spent being productive or having quality time with friends and family to play, in my opinion, THE BEST FUCKING THING EVER! That aside, we've changed as a community. We started out as a bunch of hipsters thinking we're the shiznit because we play the most hardcore game ever, to a bunch of passive aggressive pessimists that can't help but make fun of the things they love and hate about this game. And with the standalone coming on the horizon, what direction might we take as a community. Might we change for the better or the worst? Or should we, God forbid, stay as we are now? Give me your thoughts, please. Oh, and beans. I like beans.

I'm curious as to if you plan to release the standalone outside of Steam. I understand that Steam is a very good distribution method, but there are still those of us who don't have it(including myself).

I bet you ten beans and a road flare that I can get there first.

Did someone mention a political thread? I'd love a place to let my right wing dribble run loose. Anyways, I think we're just going to go back to the old days when the standalone comes. We'll be learning controls, new areas, and reporting countless bugs via rage thread. Oh, and I'll be the first to settle Utes. Anyone want to challenge me on that?

Very good points indeed. I'm not too fond of the types who act like they're smarter than everyone else here(I could name a few). I don't like talking down to others and starting arguments because I'd rather have people like me than make an enemy. So, I avoid starting a violent argument. I recommend others do the same, because it makes you look less like an asshole.
