Try lowering your resolution. I know its not desireable but it may give you a slight increase in fps.

I'm sure you will find all the gear again quite easily, don't fret. The things you mentioned have a very high spawn rate. And the M16, well bad luck.

When you are playing, find a map (they're very easy to come across in the medium-large towns). Open up your map in-game and hold Shift and click anywhere you want to go. This will set a waypoint that you can run towards and discover new areas. As someone mentioned the dayzdb is great and you can use their map to find everything anything you need/want. It shows the spawn points for cars, helis and lootable buildings. hf

Where did you come across this information? Im curious that's all. The DayZ that I see these days is thriving, new players are joining the survival every day, old players are returning to the mod, modders and modding the mod itself, other mods are being released inspiried by DayZ. I just dont see the dead you're seeing. Have you explored the other maps and modified servers on offer? I implore you, please do. Arma 2:CO has been in the steam top sellers consistently since the mod has been released. Surely that is sign enough. The delay on this standalone release just hypes the game even more so. Ive never been so excited for a games release that is just around the corner yet I have no idea when it's going public. Its a new sensation that Im quite fond of. I think they might be quietly eluding to some sort of DLC or even a sequel, or it could just be in relation to the console ports they have in mind. Who knows!

I honestly wouldn't bother dude. You'll just be disappointed with the results or not being able to play at all. Save for a new rig and watch some streams and youtube vids to keep you occupied. Good luck.

First kill was back in the days when you spawned with a Makarov. Was my first night playing the mod, early April. I got spawn killed on the coast 3 times before I decided to do the same. Good old deathmatch dayz. Used to have a ball of banditry sitting up top of the factory cyliners in Cherno and snipe innocents with the Enfield when it was a one shot kill. Those days were hilarious.

I suggest that you and your friend(s) get involved in some of the DayZ communities out there that host whitelisted servers and have active and mature admins. It will make your experience much more enjoyable. xo

Fucken jesus christ man. Why on earth people wanna waste money on useless ram is beyond me. 8gb of RAM is all you will use. Dont be a chump. Its a pretty expensive build so if you've got money to burn go nuts, if you want to be a smart cookie and save some cash while getting almost the same performance then get an i5 that you can oc, get a 670 or even a 660ti if you wanna save even more. Your PSU is overkill as well. Do not buy a razor keyboard, they are fucking trash. In fact the whole line of razor mechendise is trash except for maybe the deathadder. And why not just get a 500gb SSD? It would probably be cheaper than two seperate smaller SSDs. You obviously have a lot of money to waste so you probably wont take any of that advice but I'm poor and stingey so it makes me cringe when I see people go nuts with ridiculously unnecessary builds. Anyhow, good luck with your new PC! Edit: I can quite happily run BF3@70 fps with my GTX560ti (two years old) and i5 2600k. And I can hold a decent amount of frames in DayZ on medium to high settings, if that is any idication to you. If you want further advice the best place to ask would be at a PC dedicated forum.
