    Kradluk, I think this idea would be good if this were your average game. However for what it is meant to be, it is very heavy handed mechanically speaking. What happens if you cannot find a group because there are not enough people around? I think the idea is NOT to make it completely impossible at all to survive without grouping, but to increase the chances of survival and a little "safer" if people group. The idea is to simulate how a similar situation would play out in real life. You could survive on your own if you really know what your doing, but doing so would be very dangerous and soon or later there would be something(s) that you would another person or other people to accomplish. The question is, what mechanic (that would not be too heavy handed) could be introduced into the "game" to represent the need for other survivors (outside of transfusions) that would be necessary to continued survival? I do not have an idea for this currently, but I'm am thinking.
  2. I was checking out some gameplay video on this. What is up with zombies walking through what should be solid objects? Is that 28 Days (John Murphy) music really in the mod? Love that music. Don't they use that for The Walking Dead TV series too?

    I do not think that anyone is advocating the REMOVAL of PvP, but the focus of PvP.

    ...and this is the type of bullshit I'm talking about. I haven't recently seen any thread that suggests removing PvP. Instead of playing Internet tough guy, maybe work on your comprehension skills. Given your line of thinking, if someone just rolls up on you on the street and busts you two to the head, they're not an asshole or a douche, they're just another human being who just happens to get off on causing other humans grief. If you can't stand the heat, get the fuck out of the fire, huh? I'm sure this is not what your thoughts would be as you're lying there on the ground with your brains all over the pavement. Now given that is an extreme example, but its exactly that line of thinking that is attributed to murderers, assholes, douches....etc...etc. I don't care if it was the apocalypse, this behavior would not be excused by ANYONE except those asshole douches that participate. With that said, player on player violence should not be removed from the game, but it should not be THE way to play. I may be way off the mark, but I doubt the developers intended for this game to be a glorified sandbox DM/TDM with zombies as an afterthought. Also, being that this is in alpha state, you can be pretty sure that this mod will gain new features which modify how it is played and how people interact with each other on a regular basis. Most people who are douches in game are either douche bitches in real life also or closet douche bitches and only do it in environments where there are no possible significant consequences. There should be and will be more to this mod in the future and I dare say that some of it will address the issue of how player killing is handled.

    I agree that there does need to be PvP in this game. I would not suggest removing it. However I would strongly suggest including mechanics that reward working together to survive and penalize (more significantly) those who are just out to kill any and everyone they come across. Perhaps make it much more risky for solo players or small groups so people feel the need to locate or build larger groups of people to give them a better chance of survival. I've read alot of comments to the effect of "this is a wasteland and that's just how its going to be". That is just a lame attempt to excuse being an asshole in an online game. First off, Zombies should be the primary active threat. Maybe they should be a little more of a threat than they are now? Bandits should exist, but they shouldn't always shouldn't be the primary threat. If you were to find yourself in a similar situation, needing to survive and alone, I serioulsy doubt you'd be going around killing everyone you see and taking their shit. (Perhaps some of you would) but this shouldn't be the primary method of play here. I guess what I'm saying is that simply player killing should not be the goal for most players and it should not be so easily a viable way to play the game. It should have larger negative consequences and the primary goal should be surviving the environment and the zombies.
