Raw meat in a deer stand?? Bizarre

Is it even possible to put guns in backpacks? I thought only ammo could go in there. But I suppose that explains the bizarre find. -
Yesterday I made my way to the deer stand near Kamyshovo and found, of all things, a bunch of raw meat steaks as well as at least 4 different kinds of ammo and such. I'm thinking I must have happened on someone's temporary stash or something. Not the best place to leave a bunch of goodies though. Anyone else seen this?

Geez, while we're at it, let's start with only 3000 blood and two broken legs so we have to crawl everywhere until we can find some morphine! :heavy sarcasm intended: That's great if you only want 12 people playing the mod.

Zombie spawns seem weird. By a miracle I actually found a makharov and killed a couple of zombies, but that brought what looked to be 15 out of the woodwork and I was trapped and stuck in a bandaging animation to boot, so I died. Still it looked like suddenly there were more zombies attacking me than there were in town, or at least that the makharov's report carried farther.

Honestly, if no starter weapon of any sort is provided (what's wrong with starting with a hatchet?), then zombies need to be a little less sensitive to sight and sound, because otherwise the only way you don't take 12 years to get into a town by crawling on your belly the whole way is to just yell "cowabunga" (after all, you've got very little to lose) and sprint through town, drawing a train of zombies (and I don't find them easy to lose, either). Hardly something that anyone would do in a ZA.

Just now the servers on the US west coast were super-laggy. I had a Lee Enfield, wanted to swap for a Winnie but it wouldn't let me. Also had dropped some bandages temporarily but then it wouldn't let me pick them back up. If I get injured now I'm dead. Another thing, is there no way to make the hatchet behave more like the pistol in terms of inventory? Having to drop your long weapon every time you want to wield the hatchet as a melee weapon is a pain (and conversely, having to put the thing back in your belt to grab a rifle/shotgun as well).

Quick question--is the whole "having to get up to go through doorways" thing an Arma II engine limitation, or can it be changed in the mod? Me likey. Oh gods yes. Being able to put a pistol in a holster or even in your backpack would be a big plus, especially when you're trying to team up and aren't interested in PK-ing.

Not at all certain that the fact that melee weapons will be available means that we'll be starting out with one of them.

Hooray melee weapons! Now if we can only get them to spawn... ;) I assume/hope that they'll be relatively silent.
