What's an RP server?

Hey guys. What's the easiest way to get together and meet up with people in the game. I find that playing solo can be kind of boring.

So I just watched this YouTube video that FrankieonPC put out on the 11th and it was Dayz, but he was driving around in cars and trucks and building forts and crazy shit. I looked it up and apparently he was playing an Arma 2 DayZ Mod. Now is there a difference between regular DayZ and the Arma 2 DayZ Mod???? Because the DayZ I play doesn't have any cars or anything like that. Thanks for any clarification guys

So lately every time I've been playing and zoomed in the game makes a weird sound and it starts lagging. This happens every time. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this? Thanks to anyone that could offer any ideas.

It starts lagging really bad though and makes this weird noise. It never happened before. I have a GTX 670. I don't know how that fairs with this game.

I'm trying to get into one of those experimental servers and I keep getting this 'Bad version server rejected connection message. Any idea what I can do to fix it????

Okay fairly new player here. I'm travelling for a good 45 minutes and searching for food, water, and maaaybe I'll even come across a gun and I enter Berezhino (?). As soon as I enter the town I'm hearing gun shots and they're barely missing me so I run into the nearest house where I'm currently trapped in lol. I know the second I exit this house I'm going to get clipped by the p**sy who's hiding somewhere and firing at me. Any advice???? Or am I going to have to meet my fate and walk out of here knowing that I'll meet my unfortunate demise.

Thanks for the help. I'm trying to get used to where weapons are, but I've literally never found one. Ever. If I go to those spots after the server restarts how do I prevent myself from getting popped by someone who already got there and is now camping and sniping?

Thanks for the advice I'm going to try it and see what happens. If I get popped then the hell with it. How are people getting all these weapons and ammo??? I literally can't even find food or water it's insane.

Is there a way to get those player's names? I would love to make a nice long list of them and take them out one by one. Over and over again.

That sucks sorry to hear, but unfortunately stuff like that happens all the time and it's a norm in DayZ. I'm still pretty new myself, but all I can recommend is always keeping your guard up and being extremely cautious of your surroundings. You'll eventually get the hang of everything. Not really much you can do to avoid that though given the situation.

Okay so I'm kinda newish in the game. I could never find food that wasn't rotten or water anywhere. Never found any guns or anything. Mostly I end up dying because I can't find food or water. I might just have bad luck to where I loot buildings or houses immediately after someone else does. Until last night. I find myself who knows where because I don't really know the map yet, but I'm in the huge construction place and I'm crouched and running around just checking the place out and I come across this unfortunate dead body who has one of those large orange backpacks on. He also has a Mosin and a handgun that I see. I immediately run over and this guy is LOADED with IV kits, blood, seringes, a compass, everything. My heart is pounding as I transfer everything over so now I have all this stuff. I just know there is someone else there who is going to immediately kill me before I even get a chance to gather myself. As I go to exit the building knowing the guy who probably killed the other guy is waiting out there to kill me my computer dies which never ever happens. So if everything saved and I have all this stuff still what should I do? I don't even know how to shoot the Mosin or any other gun. I can't even tell if the gun has bullets in it. Can someone help me out?

Really sorry to hear that. It sucks that there are people out there who can actually do that after you help them. I really hope that they're a rare breed. I consider myself bambi-ish and would hope that you would continue to help people and fight the good fight. Don't let one person change your mentality of being a genuine good person who wants to help.

I just read this and I can't believe people are giving this poor kid shit for grammar. You kidding? The kid just wrote up a very helpful tip sheet that had to take a while to write up and people are giving him crap for it. That's unbelievable. The same thing happened to me except as I was walking upstairs someone destroyed me with nothing but a bat. Probably because I'm fairly new and suck, but yeah that taught me to be a lot more cautious even if I'm inside of a building. I never had that happen before. Normally I'd get KOSed, but it would be outside.

How do you report someone who blatantly attacks you in a non KOS room, let alone attack from behind like a b**** on someone who barely knows how to play? Is there a way to get there name? Or is there a way to contact the server admin. I don't even know how to check what room I'm in while I'm playing.

Oh that sucks. Well it was actually a blessing in disguise because when I respawned I came across a dead body that was STACKED with stuff like a Rosin, an IV kit, a seringe, an axe, rags and other stuff so I can't be that mad I guess I just have to be more careful. Now I'm on to figuring out how to use this Mosin! Thanks the replies though guys. It sucks that these fools can't be outlawed
