  1. There has been some popular mods for Operation Flashpoint and the ArmA series genrally called HD Weapon Packs. The HD stands for High Dispersion. In practice they acted just as you described. The firefights were epic and to destroy the enemy you had to use more tactics then just uber gamer hand eye coordination. That being said, the accurate shots in DayZ are most likely coming from someone who is laying in wait and has steadied their aim. I dunno, I've mentioned this in other games (WWIIOL) and people raged as they thought the only inaccuracy acceptable in games is their hand on the mouse even if it makes for unrealistically precise firefights. Not sure it would fly here.
  2. Korgu's idea would fit well with this: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9824

    Forget direction, get dynamic!

I like this idea. Including reduced spawn rates for populated areas. Kinda sounds realistic as well. An area becomes populated, loot is picked clean, zombies move in attracted to the commotion.
  4. True. Thats why this idea needs to coincide with making loot rarer (which has actually been proposed a bunch of times in the last few days). The DMR guy might have a DMR but maybe he ran out of beans and has a red food icon. The game needs to do more to make the players need gear, not simply wan't it.
  5. -The idea a catalyst for social interaction -The idea is authentic, not realistic, as are most of the ingame mechanics. -However, shooting up someone with a backpack full of stuff you wan't would likely damage a lot of it in real life too -In combo with lower supply spawn rates both bandits and survivors, need to take care of their survival much moreso then currently -This idea contains no punishment, no rules, no judgement on a play style and no rewards for a play style. Saying: "Having your gear disintegrate because you got shot (read: your idea) is a bad idea." Is missing the point entirely.
  6. Did you even read my idea or are you one of those guys that just reads one word and then goes "oh this guy is anti pvp, flame on"? This idea has nothing to do with stopping PvP or killing. It's a consequence mechanic based on Rockets OWN IDEA which I quoted for you. Lol, You might wanna go post this stuff Rockets thread about making crows and fly's circle your avatar because you have low humanity if you think this idea is "stupid". Consequences dude, it's what the game is being built on. If you don't like them you should try and adapt and succeed instead of complaining.
  7. Yeah, maybe not. But if people need food, as in really need it, then they are going to have a good think about how to get it (right now noone does or needs to). Go blasting away and you risk either getting shot back or starving. Imagine the interaction between two people with red flashing food icons lol.
  8. Sure can! Or they can shoot you first. Choices, choices, what to do, what to do...
  9. IMO this HAS to coincide with a chance of gear destruction (victims gear) when you shoot people.

    THE FLOOD IS COMMING

Consider 1 makarov+1 bullet *grin* Back in the original Operation Flashpoint you could aim at and shoot yourself in the foot :P
  11. YES This needs to coincide with lower loot spawn rates so bandits can't camp on the beach with 5 days food supply.
  12. YES However, if you shoot someone who you sense is an extreme threat (heavy heartbeat) does that detract from your humanity?
  13. Makes sense to me. It would be hella tense to walk through a town holding a torch for your buddy with the gun.
