Have you tried the following start up parameters? : -winxp, -maxMem=2047, -cpuCount=4 -exThreads= 7 These tweaks made a dramatic difference to my fps + stuttering on my intel 2.6 quad core and allowed me to even up the gfx quality with no performance hit

Good Tips Im also a OFP, OFP:RES, ARMA vet I try to apply as much tactical movement as possible when playing because in this gameworld its actually useful / essential, heres a few more tips (only a few because im not giving them all away ;) ) 1. Never use roads directly, always move parallel to them by a minimum of about 50m, preferably using woodland whenever available. 2. When moving along hillsides never move on the ridge line of a hill as your silhouette will give you away more easily, try to position your self about half way up the hillside so you will be less obvious to peeps that may be watching. This also deters peeps giving chase as their movement speed will be reduced if they try and climb the hill to get you. 3. If moving to a location of personal importance, never travel in a straight line, always change direction when you hit a piece of dense coverto confuse anyone thats stalking / observing you. Also its worth periodically stopping and waiting a min or so to check for following players.

My server turned to night last night and i didnt have any NV so I went to the nearest super market and threw some chemlights down. After looting I went to throw another, unfortunately i didnt press f enough and ended throwing a frag grenade which bounced of the pitch blackness in front of me and blew up in my face!

Hi All, I've been playing day z for about a week now but I am being driven mad by my inventory going walkies when i try and play on official public hive servers. In most cases my characters stats and location are saved but all my inventory is gone, on the odd rare occasion my character data is lost altogether (though this may be down to the server being private and not telling me in the server notes). I have a char on a private hive server and DO NOT experience the same problems however this servers timezone means its dark when i get home and log on and without NV its a bit crap so I want a WORKING public char to hop between servers. Environment: ARMA 2 Free ARMA OA Steam Beta patch 100296 Launching via Day Z Commander which states components are up to date (arma 2 / day z mod) Day Z 'Launch with Steam' + replace Steam files parameters set Only connecting to servers with the same Beta patch version The only thing I can think of is originally I launched the game via a desktop shortcut and tried to join games using the default server browser instead of launching with day z commander + settings detailed above. The reason I say this is I couldnt get VOIP to work unless i launched via Steam as it prevented mic acess for some reason, could not originally launching with steam somehow knackered my public hive character settings? Any help appreciated but please keep your 'only play on private server' responses to yourself please :)
