I noticed loads of empty loot locations last night, stuff just refused to spawn after about a hour playing. When I managed to find a supermarket that actually want completely empty the loot was a bit crap compared to pre patch. Also I think we might have a big problem with loot spawns because of those stupid empty cans you get when you eat / drink. From my experience loot will not respawn if its spawn area is already occupied by an object so if i go to a supermarket, eat and drink all the tinned goods then leave the empty cans where they originally spawned, theoretically no more loot will spawn in those loot areas until those empty cans are moved from the spawn location.

As others have said i does leave you defenceless, also after completing the roll there is a fairly slow transition from rolling to standing back up. This makes you even more defenceless so I think that will deter most players rolling round trying to exploit it. One annoying thing is that it uses the same key as that annoying vault and only works when your character is stood fully up, if you attempt to do a combat roll while in a crouched stance then it defaults to the original vault animation

Looking good especially when going over fences! That god aweful 'step over' animation was slow clunky and irritating especially when being chased by zeds

A good tip to take friendly players off edge is to double tap L-CTRL to lower your weapon, Dont worry about leaving yourself vunerable all you have to do is hit prone and you can open fire as your hitting the deck If the friendly player turns hostile and tries to kill you.

I have a galaxy tab on my desk with the dayzdb map running when i play, makes such a difference (once you remember your log out location :P)

I suggest you avoid all bridges when you unflip your ATV otherwise you will have some uber rage kicking off! :P P.S I once flipped a ATV on a bridge which made it unusable, HOWEVER I randomly passed the spot I left it flipped a day later and a server restart had unflipped and it was still usable. Check its location after a server restart you might have your ATV back!

When I encounter potentially friendly players I tend to take control of the situation quite forcibly just to make sure I dont get caught out. This normally involves me sneaking up on survivors and screaming "freeze! , drop your gun and get on the f**king floor NOW before i put one in your head! " over direct chat. The responses are quite funny and most immediately comply. If they do I will disarm them (if needed) then say "Ok bud on your way!" and then let them move on. Any one who does not immediately do what i say is shot dead and looted, i really dont mess about.

If you are on steam verifiy the Aram OA file cache. I had 8 corrupt files which caused loads of strange problems like messed up UI, not being able to wear a ghillie etc. After Steam fixed those files everything worked again. Before i did this i had given up trying to play on a public hive because my inventory kept getting wiped, Try verifying the file cache It seems that arma files can get corrupted really easily. Ive been too busy robbing tents on a private hive and havent had time too see if my public hive problem is fixed, I'll test when i get home this evening.

I only shoot on sight if someone : Fires at me Sneaks up on me without stating their intentions, last guy that did that ended up being shot in the legs, would have finished him off but ran out of ammo!

have you tried using the -winxp , -cpuCount=4, exThreads=7 in your start up parameters? My fps shot up when i added these so arma would actually make use of my quadcore and force dx 9 also check that vsync is not enabled, when i first installed the game for some reason it was enabled by default

Hi, I have managed to find 2 ghillie suits to date on the private server i play on, however when i have attempted to wear them I have received a "cannot count magazines" error message and the ghillie suit turns to civilian clothing when I move it into my backpack. I have tried googling this problem but cannot find any information on the problem i am experiencing. Its quite common for the server i play on to have at least one hacker fecking things up and causing the admin to restart the server due to config errors they cause, Is it possible the bug i am experiencing is being caused by script kiddies? My environment: Dayz ver: 1.7.4.4 Arma Beta ver: 100296 Any help GREATLY appreciated, I want to wear that ghillie so much lol :D

Yea I suggest leaving immediately and finding another server if you see that Config.bin:00000........ error before you end up dying dancing gangnam style :D

From what Ive read the stand alone will be protected by VAC anticheat, so offset hacking will be minimised greatly. However, you can NEVER FULLY stop offset based hacking because VAC, PB etc can only catch the hacking methods they are aware of. You also have to accept that there are some very talented game hackers that know ASM and memory manipulation so well that they can and will bypass VAC, PB etc within an hour of a hack being detected, thats a fact, I should know because I have associated with such people in the past (one for example was a Cambridge Uni professor that did it for the giggles ). What man can make, man can break. It just a matter of time and effort. (undocumented windows NT memory functions anyone? ;P) VAC + and an active admin will ensure a decent gaming experience for most of the time in my opinion

Do you use Steam? If so verify the ARMA:OA files to fix any errors it finds and see if makes a difference. I did so yesterday to fix UI problems and a bug which meant i couldnt equip a ghille and the steam install was only a couple of weeks old! These game files seem to corrupt really easily. Also use Dayz Commander to launch Dayz, its really good and allows you to filter out servers that may be running an incompatible ARMA 2 beta version which may be adding to your problems.

Hi thanks for pitching in, I dont have the latest beta patch installed becuase i read somewhere that the ingame VOIP wont work if there is a mismatch between the server beta ver and the game client beta ver. After doing a bit more research into the 'can't count magazines' error I think I was overreacting to the possibility of my problem being caused by script kiddies wrecking the server. As well as the config error above I always got other random config errors when joining a game so I decided to verify the ARMA:OA game files in Steam and found 8 file errors which when fixed sorted my problem out! Sadly when i got back to my tent my ghillie was gone along with other gear i collected the same night, Im hoping it was a bug and some thieving git hadnt nicked it lol, luckily I found some camo clothing instead which fitted perfectly :D

My most recent kill: I Had just climbed up into a deer stand and was examining some loot when the bark of a close by enfield made me jump. I jumped from the deer stand and landed hard, for a second i thought it was game over, my legs would be broken and i would be easy pickings! But no, my legs were intact and as a another round wizzed past I ran for it. I hadnt identified the shooter or the direction the shots were coming from so I sprinted through the woods dodging incoming rounds and baiting my stalker over direct comms with comments like 'your sh*t give up m8' and 'im gonna waste all your ammo' :). After about 200m I looked over my shoulder and saw my stalker, a ghillie clad bandit. The chase went on for about a mile, It had become obvious at this point that the ghillie had used all his enfield ammo and was trying to get in close to finish me with a pistol or hatchet. I let him get about 5m behind me, then stopped, turned around, looked him in the eye and opened up point blank with my ak74. Thank you ghillie bandit for all the high end loot you were carrying ive been after nv goggles and gps for ages :D

After doing some research I think my problem is caused by script monkeys screwing the server as Ive just found out if you see a config.bin 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 et error or similar when you join and click continue this apparently allows the monkies scripts to execute on your game client. Ive seen numerous errors like this whilst playing so I wouldnt be surprised if my prolem is caused by their antics. Ive left my ghillie in a tent so I think i'll try wearing it as soon as the server has been restarted and no errors like the one above appear on login

If you go to settings there is a text box where you can put in the additional parameters, just put them in there like you would a desktop shortcut, save and your done :D Dont forget to try exThreads = 7 if you have a quadcore aswell :)
