    just saw your thread and the picture of the fresh spawn vs. the experienced guy it is a perfect example of what I had in mind! The only detrimental thing would be loop-holes allowing people to exploit/powerlevel as orlok said (I still remember in Morrowind how you could reach 100 shield skills by finding an extremely weak enemy,have an automatic health reg-en effect and simply ... Leave the game, go out with the friends and come back after a few hours having a character with 100 shield skills). _Anubis_

    Everyone kills me

    Good strategy. Grab an hatchet and wherever you are, head straight to Berezino and NEAF - pretty much desolated places but you can find there everything and depending on where you spawn you can always hit a town with a supermarket (2 in Berezino). Once I spawned near Balota, had a quick check there and made one big run to Berezino with a single stop in Polana to get food. _Anubis_

    Suggestion for killing on sight

    You can force teamwork by making looting very risky, however you can't reach the stage in which looting is possible only by a team because you would loose a lot of lone wolves player types. If you want to discourage KoS/PvP you can simply, as already pointed out, simply reduce drastically the amount of ammo especially for sniper and assault rifles. _Anubis_

    Full moon nights are acceptable and provide a very nice atmosphere and balance. I wouldn't play during dark nights against players NVG equipped because there are better ways to commit suicide. And nobody uses flares/flashlight alone, unless he's a fresh spawn.. _Anubis_

    Look for private servers since the users are always the same. Some private servers have a relaxed ans mature population, some more KoS oriented/raging. Leave the coast and go North for a while to get better gear and more experience, avoid contacts for a while. _Anubis_
  8. Just keep practicing with the hatchet and you will quickly forget Z exist. Even If you have a train of them following you just find the nearest building and wait for them inside and slay them with the hatchet as they come. With further practice you will be able to do that outdoor as well. Sometimes I kill an animal with the hatche(no noise) and gut it and kill also the approaching Z during the process. And believe me I am a lousy player. _Anubis_ ps when you spawn run to the nearest hospital to get morphine you will not regret it later...

    Well, let's hope to have in SA Quality and not Quantity. You can't simply make the game more difficult by having an horde of Z, that would only suck big time. Better tracking and more resilient Z, that should be the way. _Anubis_

    Can you still easily kill them with an hatchet? Even in dayz Zombies running outdoor can be killed (e.g. in the airports hangars they run), what I hate is their turbo-mode attack when they get near to you. _Anubis_

    Buy it. The SA may be many months away, so while you wait you can play and get experience and most of all, have fun. _Anubis_

    We could add as well a "Revive Dead" magic liquid to put emphasys on social interaction. This could be used only once by another player on your dead body to bring you back to life. Hmm... Maybe Mountain Dew so the bitmaps are already there. _Anubis_

    Collect what you need and then go to a map border (N or W). Nobody goes there. No more PvP and you can amuse yourself watching players making a mad run toward NWAF (and often being sniped there). I play Lone Wolf/Hero but if I decide to wander around Cherno I must be prepared to pay the price. Is is your story. _Anubis_

    It happens. I dropped once an M4A3 CCO close to a tree and I was unable to retrieve it. It was visiblle between leaves and branches but I was unable to pick it up. I sweared for a good 5 minutes and then I headed for Berezino (mind you, I was N of Zeleno, so the opposite corner oc Chernarus) to pick something else because the server was flooded with death messages at cherno, elektro and nwaf. _Anubis_
  17. I am asking this because since a few days I have started to frequent more the NE corner of Chernarus and even with 30-40 players Berezino is the most lonely place on the island... Nobody around, I spent hours and hours running there, yet there are 2 supermarkets, one hospital, 4 mil. tents and plenty of buildings. On top of that, the area around is almost flat and the town is wide, so snipers have a very hard time picking targets _Anubis_

    More than happy to not see anymore "insta-kills" such as the AS-50. An ordinary L-E/CZ-550/Mosin Nagant with a moderate scope should be the top. _Anubis_

    I envy you... First day! Want a quick tip? Once spawned, run to Zeleno and grab an hatchet in the first farm you'll find. Forget the coast and don't stop for any reason. Once in Zeleno, loot the supermarket, breath and begin to play. _Anubis_

    Patches are, from the company point of view, a 100% monetary loss because those are free yet the company had to pay for their software engineers and testers to work. Nobody does patches happily, they issue patches because there is some huge disappointment in the customer base about bugs and/or design and/or performances. They don't do enough testing, that's for sure. Mostly because (once again) money plays a very important role and a game has to generate a ROI or the company will go bust: so what happens is simple: 1. game X is supposed to take Y calendar months and Z amount of man days (effort, hence money) 2. plans are man made, so 99% of the times you have a time/money overrun 3. The ROI has to be preserved no matter what so something has to be cut 4. What do you have at the end? System Testing (if you follow some V-based/agile model to develop hopefully) 5. So testing is cut/reduced in scope. It is a gamble. Too much outcry after? Make a patch. What you are seeing now with the pre-sales concept of "alpha/beta/bla-bla-bla releases" is another (IMHO better) strategy to cope with this issue: release the game, albeit unfinished, do not ask for too much, watch the sales and go on with more and more polished features. Releasing an alpha means cash-in so the ROI break-even date gets closer. _Anubis_

    I am not a fan-boy so I am not setting myself for anything... :D If the SA will deliver value-for-money I will gladly buy and enjoy it, otherwise I will wait for the hype to settle and the bugs to be fixed. I understand the Alpha SA has to be paid with money, or do we have the concept of Alpha money as well? _Anubis_

    No problem with missing features. It would be fair to know the roadmap (what is planned to be added) before the SA will be in stores, so people can decide before forking out money. The real issue is whether the SA alpha/foundation/you-name-it release has all the available features 100% working or not. If it comes out with glitching/psycho or dumb zombies/disappearing items/choppers leaking fuel from glasses, that will be nasty. _Anubis_

    Zombies now spawn in open fields. If you want a 100% zombie-free place, look for a forest (go deep inside, not at the edge). _Anubiw_
