    I can see where you are coming from here. It was definitely a poor decision to increase, because mugs like me get used to the shorter travel times via foot. I guess with slower running speeds this will make combat a bit better seeing that people can't just dash and zig-zag around like sonic and dodge every single one of your shots. I have though noticed that movement speed has been decreased while holding a double handed melee weapon (E.g. Fire Axe). For me it makes the weapon feel more believable and gives it weight. This has also been carried through with the guns now taxing movement speed heavily when raised. One day we will all get over the speed decrease, but I do actually hope there is a day where holding more stuff = slower running speeds. I never want to see stamina introduced in the game as I feel it killed off Arma 3 for me a bit. You get taxed to a snail crawl movement within second making movement in combat just plain boring and to be honest annoying.

    Read up a changed my full opinion on the situation I am really saying that vehicles have not been completely implemented yet and they are not a reliable mode of transport due to persistence issues. I go on to say that geared players should be taxed for their speed with a weight system. When vehicles are properly implemented I will strongly agree upon a change.

    Vehicles are not persistent yet so you just can't simply rely on them as a main mode of transport, because you only have your hands on them for 2 - 4 hours until they are taken off you and sent to a new location. Vehicles are no way near full release and the running speed should only be tweaked when they come completely into the game (e.g; Persistent, Repairable). Your sacrificing fun for realism here by reducing the running speed. I think I will be done with standalone if they ever add the ridiculously stupid system of getting over burdened in epoch. You collect your gear and get overly punished for it by making you pass out every single minute. It just put more time into lying on the ground fainted when you could actually be doing something. I think a way to fix this whole fast running is to have a weight disadvantage so the more you are holding the slower you run. This gives a chance for fresh spawns to run their little hearts out at full speed to gear up and once they are geared they will be taxed with a slower disadvantage over fresher spawns in the game. I clearly don't want my travel time on foot to take even longer, because longer running = longer time not having fun

    if the running animation was completely fine why replace it with an animation that looks like it was clearly made by a fat guy running. What is your opinion on this new running animation? I am certainly disappointed in their poor choice to change over the animation to something like this.

    To be honest I would be fine with the animation if he didn't lean so far forward as it looks like he has a bad back and the only way to fight the pain is to lean forward. Also his arms sway way to much backwards and also swing out too wide. I don't know if the animations are being done manually or they are being done with those special suits, but if they are being done with the suits, please just get someone that can actually run. I would actually expect a zombie to run like that instead of an actual human being, because the way he runs is just not natural and I hate it.

Shooting on sight is massive topic in DayZ and it is something that rocket has successfully slightly reduced the people that actually shoot on sight which is great, but there are still many people who shoot anyone sight no matter what. The thing I cannot really grasp around is that when you approach a person who shoots on sight and you say "can you please explain to me why you are shooting on sight?" they are stuck for words and I believe deep down inside the cogs of their brain they are thinking "He has got a point". Today I was faced with a guy and a girl who seemed like they were camping the hospital roof with their M4's. I walked past the hospital out in the open and put my gun away just to show them I was friendly just in case they were just looking for loot or trying to hold people up. All of a sudden I heard a crack from the M4 and I ran off running behind a building. I slowly swerved through the streets of elektro and found an opportunity to have a chat with these confused players. Standing in third person I initiated chat asking them "why are you shooting on sight?". I talked for five minutes without them replying until I pissed them off enough to actually start talking. He started with saying "Nahhhhp" until the girl joined in claiming "I had my gun out and that is why we shot at you" after I asked "Why did you shoot at me?". I then proceeded to ask "So why are you shooting fresh spawns on sight" and she of course claimed "We only shoot geared people like you" (LATER WHEN I LEFT I WATCHED THEM FOR 10 MINUTES SHOOT FRESH SPAWN AFTER FRESH SPAWN). I kept protesting against her claims, but she kept talking excuses out of her ass which really left me to the conclusion people who shoot on sight do not know what they are doing and they don't really have a counter argument to "You are bad at DayZ, because you shoot on sight". Later on I kindly left saying "Well A girl like you must be bloody fat" and she replies in a muffled voice "yeahsdfhdfdfdfdfseuif". I have approached dozens of people who shoot on sight in DayZ to have a chat and they either do not talk altogether or they reply in smart ass comments attempting to change the subject at points. Just a few questions If you shoot on sight why do you do it? can you explain to me why you are not bad at the game if you shoot on sight? What is your opinion on people who shoot on sight? Do you think they are just pure douche bags that ruin your DayZ experience? Should they be ashamed of themselves? EDIT: SORRY IF PEOPLE HAVE KINDA MIS-UNDERSTOOD, BUT MY POST RELATES BACK TO THE STORY I TOLD AND IT IS ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO CAMP AREAS NOT IN SELF DEFENSE, BUT JUST FOR FUN. I AM TALKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO GO PLAYER HUNTING BASICALLY!

  14. I would assume they are, but the only thing I can confirm is that the VS3 is going to be the first vehicle we see in the game after watching the dev stream.
  15. I feel like the current 3rd person has just been slapped on and no effort has been put into it. I reckon they should make it over the shoulder with the option to switch over shoulders with a certain hot key. A great example of the 3pp is arma 3 life that is currently in its closed alpha stage right now. It virtually forces you to switch into first person to get the full feel of situational awareness. 3pp is still there, because without it you feel confined to one view and you really never get to visually see you character which doesn't really help when you want to grow a connection towards your character. Even if the 3pp view is not changed they should at least make it so you have to go into the option menu to change your view from first to third. That would stop people from walking around cities and third personing corners, because if they go into a combat situation they would be basically screwed hence they have to go into the settings to change to 1pp so they can aim and shoot back.

    I would believe that the update isn't spot on, because updates don't usually instantly push through steam. re-logging on steam to make sure :D Damn thought it was update... it was insurgency #crie evry tiem I am guessing it will be coming in 45 min from now.

    So today, I downloaded the new experimental update and I spawned on the southern coast :beans: !Finally! :beans: I will kill myself a few times and see if I spawn south again to confirm edit: Southern spawns is confirmed on my end, have spawned south twice now. Things I have found so far - constant annoying crashing 100% confirmed - Doors have opening sounds - Zombies now have proper footstep sounds - Zombies seem to have been tweaked and feel more fluent now (maybe placebo effect) - Wringing out clothing does not work - Different stages of temperature (eg; I am promptly cooling off, I slowly cooling off, I am slowly warming up) - Random sounds bug seem to have been removed though will play more to confirm EDIT #2: I can near self confirm that zombies have been drastically improved as their path finding is now near flawless. I locked myself in multiple rooms and closed the door for at 3 minutes per room and not one zombie poked through the door or anything. Although could be definitely be related to the fact that there is only 4 people on the server I am playing on right now.

    How does everyone here break up the DayZ monotony?

    When I get fully geared, I go to a populated town (berezino) and basically hunt for bandits. I supply gear to the fresh spawns and just wait for the moment that someone fires a round at me.

    the only thing I don't agree with is the no weight limit for DayZ Epoch. For me and everyone I played with agreed that the Weight system just takes away from the fun of the game in many aspects.
