    I've yet to have the gall to camp somewhere like Stary, but I have camped helicopter crash sites before on high pop servers - got some of my favorite kills by doing so.

    It helps if you read everything - I only talked about spacecraft to illustrate that people can survive in confined spaces on very little resources for extreme amounts of time. You would also have to survive in a small space on low resources to survive on an airship indefinitely, albeit it would be much easier than a spacecraft. You could live through the entire zombie apocalypse without even knowing that it has ended yet.

    Submersible? Really? So now you're switching it from a boat to a submarine? And you aren't considering the fact that you don't know what kind of boat the pirates could have. Who's to say that they're after your boat, and not just equipment? You can have a worse boat than them and they'll still go for it. Forget what I said, living on the ground/sea is for plebians. Cruise at 50,000-60,000 ft, for better sunlight and so that no one can shoot you down, unless they happen to have a high altitude interceptor or SAM :P

    -The zeds in DayZ are infected, not dead. -They wouldn't even be able to get onto the boat. Most boats have a hull too tall for even a healthy person to scale, there's nothing to grab onto. Imagine yachts converted to do this, boats even larger and more sustainable. Imagine if something like an oil tanker was modified for this purpose - imagine how utterly untouchable it would be. Life would proceed as normal, within the confines of the boat.

Also, we need to think about nutrition, beans aren't a cure all. In fact, in an actual survival situation, canned beans would be pretty useless. But hey, Chef Boyardee is awesome no matter what. Food and water can't run out - convert sea water to fresh water with electricity, and grow crops with hydroponics; no soil required. Gather seeds from the previous generation grown.

    Some servers have things like CH:ON or 3DP:ON in their name (Crosshairs on, third person on). Other than that you just have to find servers you like, and write them down for future reference.

    I just carry three guns. M4 primary, PDW secondary, and an M24 for specific circumstances in my backpack.

    I use the M24 - for threading needles at 1km. Ammo is rare but it's the best scoped rifle I've used.
