Takes a lot of space, 6 for an engine block, 3 for a fuel tank, 2 for scrap metal, 3 for a jerry can, ect.

1-Maps are found in general civilian areas/stores. They don't show where you are - you have to figure that out yourself. 2-There are, and if a vehicle is able to be used you will be able to enter it. You then have to repair it, there's a guide on the forum. 3-Use "," to cycle through chats 4-You don't, you have to kill them. 5-Nothing loads or plays DayZ well right now, it's very poorly optimized at this early stage. I get 90 fps in Arma II but im lucky to get 40 in DayZ. 6-Same as a map, find backpacks in civilian areas. You might find some in deer stands too. 7-Yes, but only for a short time.

Get a compass, it supersedes every other priority. Knowing which way you're going ensures future food, water, weapons, medical supplies, tools, ammo, ect.
-
Not really. Coordination is more important than numbers. Some guy with a DMR could pick off a group of 10 people from a kilometer away without any trouble. Not to mention the other survivor is not obligated to cooperate with you, and is not bound by the same things he would be in real life. Prisoner's dilemma doesn't really apply here.

G for inventory, right click to use something in your main inventory.

Think this is the wrong section, buddy.

Bullet drop affects all weapons. You'll have to learn how to judge distance and use zeroing/mildots.

Tents are NOT crashed helicopters

He put the stuff that wasn't useful to him back into your tent, think of it like a garbage disposal. He took pity on you, ungrateful plebeian. -
Rocket wants this game to be realistic? Why is everyone tied up in realism?

I never have to worry about stuff like this. I carry a medical arsenal - more than I will ever need. Four bandages, three morphine, two painkillers.

Ghillie suit and Camo for woman please

Wrong section - and I'd rather that the gender reversal bug is fixed first, thanks. -

Choose Starting Items...Ultimate Risk/Reward
lunakhod replied to infinitegrim's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Why are you so concerned with "realism"? That is not what DayZ is about, and should not be your reasoning behind a suggestion. It should serve a purpose within the game, even if its an unrealistic contrivance. What will this add to the game? -

1-Nothing runs DayZ extremely well right now, it's very poorly optimized at this early stage. I play Arma 2 at 90 fps but I'm lucky to get 40 in DayZ. It's very demanding on your CPU, that much I can tell you. 2-You have to buy the original Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead, or just buy Combined Operations. 3-Don't know what you mean, headset doesn't really have anything to do with the game, just personal preference.

Because if you simply cheat to beat the cheaters, you are no better. The second you start making special rules for yourself, the second you try to justify cheating, you become just as despicable as the hackers. Additionally, if you alt-f4'd while in the air you may still die, only to have your body stuck in the sky (Bodies stay where they were created, they don't fall). You wouldn't be able to retrieve your gear. There is utterly no reason to risk alt f4'ing. It happens to all of us, we all have to deal with it.
-
Happens to all of us, be a man - don't alt f4. Just die and go back to your body.

Anyone know how far out Arma 3 engine will render foliage?
lunakhod replied to MASKOAA's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I doubt the render distance would be much farther. Even with the foliage being 2d sprites it's still extremely demanding on your CPU to render that much, not to mention how the foliage affects the lighting.
