100% agreed. Why not just add the basic Fn Fal to the base military loot table. It's basically m14 aim, just without the scope.

What the crossbow really needs is an iron sight of some sort, most common is the 3 point sight, or we could have it mounted with an optics, why not both?

100% agreed with op. This needs to be fixed asap. it was fixed in one of the resent patches, but it was making duplicate versions of the player characters, so it was taken out. I assume it's still being worked on? -
Really? You bring realism into this? Here's your realism, buddy.And people who whine about low body awareness in 1st person, learn to use left-alt; problem solved. Also protip: you can change your FOV from the .cfg file so no more whining about low visibility. I personally wouldn't mind if all the different server types had different characters. Hell' date=' ditch the whole hive database and give all the servers different characters altogether. As for the realism part, check the video in my post for laughs.

Same happened to me, lost m249 & 3 belts to it, m9sd (was replaced with makarov & 3 mags), bandages, food and gps.. What's going on? People you got to remember this is an Alpha and the devs do not have to give your items back.

I personally thought this was somekind of an sick joke from Rocket. Hoping i was right and he will remove it in future patch.

This. I, as many others suggested this many weeks ago, but it did not get any attention from the devs, nor the forum users. Actually, now that i think about it, i think it was quite close to this when the arma: oa patch came that made nights darker. Again, would love to hear thoughts from the devs.

I don't know what's the idea of changing the night time brightness from version to version ( i guess now it's the time this being alpha and all..) But didnt the ArmA: OA beta patch try to fix the gammawarrior issue? Now it's back as you can see. Default settings: Gammawarrior: Makes no sense. Basically free nvg. -

It looks like you're not launching the beta, and somehow getting into a server that's not forcing the beta client. Actually i am running the latest beta. It's the new Tone mapping that makes it possible to up the gamma again.

Really now? It went from pitch black to this. with default settings: gammawarrior settings: Too dark you say? I say it's free nvgs for everyone.

Rocket, "[NEW] Tone Mapping to enhance nightlighting conditions." So after trying out the 1.7.1.2 it seems it's possible to turn a nearly pitch black night into a black & white with nearly as good visibility as if it was daytime. Is there no way to fix this? Are there only these two choises, either pitch black or suffer the gammawarriors? This only benefits the cheaters so, in my opinion it should be an even ground for everyone. That is if upping gamma/brightness to 1.5/2.0 is concidered as a cheat ofcourse. It is the gamma that gives you the greater advantage over default 1.0 setting, brightness atleast at my end has very little effect on how well one can see, tried it from 0.1 all the way to 2.0. It goes from: to this: I think we need an official statement on that.

Date/Time: 17.6.2012 3:54 What happened: I learned that there's a way to read the mission file from dayz and see all the loot & vehicle spawns. You can even see when other players are nearby by seeing their inventory data pop-up into the software. I also found out there's some way to constantly keep track of your and anyones, the location can be made to update in to an map software in real time. It's been done by checking the traffic between clients & server and the mission file. *Current installed version: ARMA2_OA_Build_93701, DayZ 1.7.0

I would like to see nvgs removed till it's impossible to dupe them. As it is now, they give a huge advatange to cheaters. Maybe bring them back when duping and the night is fixed so that you could actually see atleast your own freaking hands and maybe couple of meters longer, but still couldnt fuck around with the gamma & brightness.

Date/Time: 18.6.2012 What happened: You can run faster than you can normally by tapping W button in right sequence, easily done with a macro. Same goes for guns without rate of fire limit, such as dmr/m14, fn fal, most of the handguns.. etc. and this is with really high accuracy, one can empty an g17 in less than a second with great accuracy as recoil does not effect rightfully. What you were doing: Saw people run abnormally fast and shoot full auto with handguns, so asked 'em how they did it. *Current installed version: Latest ArmA 2 beta patch & 1.7.1 DayZ
