Just gonna switch weapons from my backpack

When running 2 guns: ALWAYS pull the gun out of your backpack NEVER put a gun into your backpack Words to live by. -
Completely agree. Love the tough new zeds, lower loot. Makes the game a challenge ALL THE TIME, not just when in PvP. Only issue I can see is that infection is too easy to get and too hard to cure. Looking at the just updated changelog, looks like chance of getting infected has been lowered which is excellent. Otherwise great job Razor + the team.

Thats a good starting kit, especially the British Assault pack. If your a lone wolf matches, morphine (x2), and antibiotics (x1) should be your next priorities. Probably dont need 6 bandages as their easy to find, 4 is a good number so you can have some side arm ammo. Balota is pretty high risk but if its a low pop server you might have some luck. If your looking at long term survival, head to the NE of the map to set up camp. Usually low player population and Berezino with 2 supermarkets and 1 hospital is close. Also has good industrial loot so you can have a go at fixing up a vehicle for fast raids to Stary. Good luck!

Opps my bad, is it because the change isn't bulletpointed like the rest of the items on the changelog? Me confused, was I not misinformed?
-
Removed from spawn list and existing/hacked AS50s will have a bullet damage of zero blood, so basically useless.

The Snap servers I.P. is 203.37.100.186:2302 Are you using DayZ Commander? There's a search function there that should find it. Sent you a PM with where I am, don't want and sly Bandits ambushing me haha.

Or how about a scoped Enfield! Deadlier than a meth addled bear with a chainsaw.
-
No worries Puk, sounds like your having a blast already! Tried to get a vehicle going yesterday, spent almost an hour looking for one damn wheel. Found one, fixed the car and drove to a hiding place then last minute crashed the damn thing and broke it again.

I'm Geneva in game. Headset is the best way to go for sure, my Skype is fraser0075. When you jump on the Snap server pm me through this forum or Skype and we'll hopefully survive a few days!
-
Yes you will lose your gear but the Snap server is the best in NZ at the moment. Been playing there a few months and no hacker issues. Usually full with 45 players at night so fun times. I'm up north now, if you can make it to Bereznino or Polana I can meet you there and help you gear up. Just grab a hatchet and as much food and drink as you can get then leg it north:-)

Sweet, got 2 little girls myself so I know how it is!!! You should definitely try the snap.co.nz server, the Orcon ones are public hive and I've had a lot of hacker issues there as well as idiots on global chat all the time. If you get on the Snap one I can hopefully pick you up, trying to get a vehicle today;-) I play around same time as you (6-8pm). Do you have Skype?
-
Hey Puk I'm a NZ player too, are you on the orcon or snap server? I'd be happy to meet up and help you out a bit if you want.

Krasnostav, mainly for low player count and supermarket/airfield/industrial/deer stands all close by. Good high hills surrounding the key locations for scoping out.

I think the Standalone will be fantastic, no matter what the other threads say.

My hope is that SA will be more survival focused. Tougher zombies, more ways to get sick and injured, and more co operation needed to repair/build/heal. I'm excited about the crafting aspect and the potential trading economy that will arise. I hope to god that vehicles are not as fragile! Sick of spending hours getting an Atv up too all green status then bump a tree at 5kph and EVERYTHING gets damaged. -
Great update, especially like: Visible empty slots on tents, More guns at deer stands, NEW Zombies!. Changed zombie damage should be interesting too.

Any links to a full list of changes?

DayZ strategic encounter breakdown
Geneva replied to shaneisaghost's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Great vid, subbed. Would like to see some city stuff, and maybe NW airfield pointers as thats seems to be where I get killed the most! -
The NZ Orcon (NZ 01 to NZ 20 or something) servers are shocking, I've been tele-ed on them heaps. The best NZ server is SNAP.CO.NZ's one, good active admin and custom anti cheats. Been playing on there a month now and no problems with hackers. If you wanna team up on it let me know, I'm a friendly looking for buddies!

ROCKET. Playing with friends question (Standalone)
Geneva replied to djshauny1's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
A spawn on friends system would leave it too open to exploitation. An organised group would have one player at each key military location, and then just take turns spawning on each other to rape the loot. It would suck in a fire fight too, pop off two out of three in a group then they just come back in a minute later. It takes away the thing that makes this game so heart pounding- the time invested in you character to get them where they are and death could take it all away in a second. -
Nice user name, my tag in BF3 is Kyuss!
-
I'm keen too, I'm a NZ player tired of being shot on sight by all!! This games so much better with a few friendlies. Just added you DylantheRandom, my skype is fraser0075

Since new patch my tent "rolled back" it's contents to a few dayz ago? Had on me a ak74 Kobra that I took out of the tent and put in there m14aim. Logged on today and still had the ak on me, went back to the tent and no m14 but another ak kobra and ammo?? Anyone else got tent glitches?
-
Its definitely the investment of time aspect that makes the firefights so heart pounding. Knowing that you and the other player have spent days getting to where you are and it could all be gone in one head shot. Also if your Mountian Man-nig it you might have not seen another player or fired a shot for days. Then out of nowhere bullets stard whizzing and popping around you, your heart almost pops! I havent won a gunfight yet but have walked away with shaking hands and a smile because its the most intense gaming experience I've had.

Nice work, especially about the using backpack and free look over shoulder. As a 3 week dayz vet those were the hardest to figure out. I would rate the map as an essential though, so good for planning safest routes to cities. Thanks!
