Running speed should be linked to what size backpack you use. That way the smallest backpack would actually have a point.

YES I really like the sound of this. Brings a lot more tension to close encounters, also might make people more hesistant to shoot others since they cannot track their own humanity. -

Taking the ATVs out for a spin and making ourselfs useful by giving lifts to mates. Let me tell you, these things are a lot of fun. Also check out the other video I posted some time ago(thread got lost after the rollback) How my ghillie suit saved my life:

I didn't. I would have never bought Arma 2 if it wasn't for the mod. Lost all interest for the franchise after OFP Cold War Crisis and its expansions. You never paid a dime for DayZ, only for CO which DayZ is a modification of. Just because you paid just for DayZ doesn't mean you paid for DayZ. Don't get me wrong, I love DayZ. I don't mind the bugs, glitches and whatnot, I know it's an alpha and understand the meaning of it. I just didn't completely agree with your statement.

1000 players in the 255km² world would mean about 4 players on every km² according to simple math. Ofcourse you'll have certain areas with a higher concentration than others(Like Elektro or Cherno, or any other random village in this case). As you probably know, people are already complaining about the constant deathmatch going on. With a mathematical average of 4 players per km² this WILL get MUCH worse. No, please, keep it at ~60.

One of the guys of the HSZ group, who currently have their camp set up in NY8 on 1.6.0.1 at coordinates 146(Top),016(Left) blatantly disconnected when we returned fire after he tried sniping us while we were pillaging his group's tents. If you HSZ guys read this, your tents are empty and vehicles are stolen, don't even bother logging back in. It's frustrating but also saddening when people pull these disconnects. Here hopes for a fix soon.

How is that guy a hacker? Whenever I study any given dead body, I ALWAYS get "This is Unknown and he was killed by an Unknown cause", that is in no way an indication of hacking. So you want big groups of people to be able to hoard 10 ATV's to one server? (leaving the other servers ATV-less since there's a limited amount of vehicles spawning) I no like. It's fine how it is, just find yourself a stable server and get your vehicles on that.

Is it possible to run the beta patch from within Steam? I guess this is just my imaginary OCD but I like Steam to track how long I've been playing the game. Also, I love how fast you're rolling out these updates; that's what I call dedication! Something a lot of developers lack these days.

I thought about gettng a group of survivors together and invade Cherno to wipe it from bandits and keep the city under control. Probably enforce it as DMZ, where weapons are to be confiscated by guards before entering. Make it into a 'safe haven' where people can come and trade with eachother without having to fear for their lives. That would be awesome.

At least you got to choose. The game never asked me wether I wanted to be a guy or a girl, it just kept me as a guy when I started playing after patching... Joined several other servers since and never got to choose.
