  1. I think the point is that no dehydrated, but otherwise healthy person, could ever die of thirst in a rain storm. And to answer your question, yes, I wrung out my watch cap and gloves into a cup. Slamz I wrote a long suggestion about water sources a long time ago that went largely unnoticed, check my sig for the link.
  2. I have noticed this. GTX260. For me it is happening when large groups of zombies spawn or despawn. Even when the spawned zombies are many kilometers away.

Inventory items randomly lost when killed

It has been suggested before, by rocket no less. I agree with it as long as the items are lost the moment you are shot rather than the moment you die. Extension to one of Rocket's idea: Gear damage by gunfire
  4. Military weapons have always spawned in that particular type of building no matter where it is.
  5. If I do manage to spawn I'm in a bandit skin and then I get battleye kicked for a script restriction #16 whatever that is. On Orcon servers I'm getting the same thing but it flashes a message saying I'm using DayZ code 1.71 and the server is using 1.70. EDIT: Fixed the script restriction #16 error. Sometimes I am dumb.
  6. I will reiterate what I said before, if this idea is looked at solely as a 'punishment' for looters then yes, of course it is shit. Items should not be lost on death, they should be lost the moment they are shot or blown up. I know change is hard for some people to accept even in an alpha test but this idea should be discussed and not dismissed with that overused 'don't punish a play-style' argument especially when, if the idea is implemented properly, it does not even apply.
  7. Has anyone visited Debug Hill/Forest? If you searched before you started a new thread you would have seen numerous threads and videos already posted about it. Don't start this shit again, please.
  8. Look at the screenshots they posted, specifically the FPS rate in the top corner. I'd be a butthurt scripter too if I could only run ArmA at 12fps.
  9. My god that is mesmerizing. But it wouldn't work in DayZ over multiple servers and even if it could it would ruin a lot of people's secret camps.

    Should he have died?

Luke, you are a victim of a hacker or a lagmonster. The video clearly shows you hit him at least 6 times. If you post the date, time and server in the cheat report section an administrator may be nice enough to check the logs for you. edit: counted the shots again in slow motion.
  11. Some people are looking at it the wrong way. It shouldn't be pitched as a 'punishment' for bandits, instead it is a new, interesting and realistic mechanic that may or may not require more effort to code than it is worth. [imaginationland] They aren't used in DayZ but bags have hitboxes already and turning them back on might not be that hard. The second step is changing the material so they are bullet resistant instead of bullet proof. Then comes the random item destruction code. Lastly would be item destruction effects; A quick bleeding effect with light brown 'blood' instead of red for cans of drink and food and a spark ricochet effect for everything else. Bonus: Shooting somebody at the base of their Czech pack and breaking some beans will make it look like they're shitting themselves while they're running away. [/imaginationland]

  13. If radios are implemented I imagine it will go the same way as Fonline (Put radio on frequency 0000 for spam.) Otherwise no global chat is a great idea, if you want to ask questions you can alt+tab and google them instead of spamming 49 other people something that's been asked twenty times already.
  14. Yes. I think players should still lose humanity for killing them unprovoked. That way only truly innocent survivors will remain noise free. 21 words. Lord forgive me.
  15. YES Teaches new players how to use stealth and distraction (until melee is developed) and makes firearms precious. Three extra words.
  16. "when will drinking etc when logging in be remedied?" Hopefully never.
  17. Everything on that update list had a soothing effect on my jimmies, never have they been in such a profound state of order. All is well in the world and the world is well.
  18. Oh lordy, is this true? What if you 'save' them after you've died and resupplied at them? If saving doesn't work then all of my things will have disappeared in the last hour or so. Nooooooo!!! My 20 various AK models that I never use! My antibiotics that I'll never use! My beans! OH GOD MY BEANS! Edit: To answer OP's question, I believe there was a bug in 1.6 that made backpacks never disappear until the server was reset. But be careful where you put them, I lost my 24 slot bag when I dropped it in a bush. After 1.7 update I'm not sure, I heard reports that they disappear immediately.

    Filling water bottle with rain

Who told you this? I consider it a community service to tell you that they were incorrect. Why is the gutter idea too much? Almost every single house has open drain pipes. Seriously. I mean seriously. For serious.

    Booby-trapped packs

Running around Chernarus with a live grenade bouncing around in your backpack, what could possibly go wrong?
