*List* TOO Much Realism Is Bad (Please help me add on)
tombom replied to carbine781 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If you're going to disagree with something don't be a prick and just say you don't like it. At least show you have a thought process and give a reasonable explanation otherwise i think you have downsies -

Bro i was weak as hell reading this. You are amazing! Anyway some of the stuff on your list i would want in the game but you make good points on everything. I would hate to have to use the bathroom when are hoard decides to attack and/or a zed bites off my pecker. -
Ideas for Hunting/New Equipment for Standalone
tombom replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
dude this is absolutely brilliant and you have put a lot of thought into it. I hope this gets noticed and added in the game. For real though the snare is an awesome idea and i can already see it being used for protecting camps. I would love to come across a bandit and see them stuck in a tree. -
I like most of what this said. Like i would totally love a flippin guitar especially since i play, i think it would be sick and a good way to get attention and make diversions. The sex part is what scares me, especially your mental health and along with the fact i rarely see women on the map and even then it's possible they are still men, so are you suggesting we all sleep nut to butt and have a sausage fest?

Weaponry that makes sense given the setting
tombom replied to 1clash1's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I agree except the sniper part. Obviously you probably wouldnt find tons of high powered shit, but i am sure you would see a lot of hunting rifles and what not. I mean there is a lot of woodland and wildlife i am sure the former citizens liked hunting, especially with all this camping gear and deer stands you find -

Its not an FPS and you don't need better guns or more to kill zombies. I rape zombies constantly with headshots with a makarov and other survivors. If you suck so bad that you need an automatic weopan so you can spray the whole damn map with gunfire and come away with only a shot to the knee thats your fault go play CoD. Otherwise learn to aim a gun and deal with what you find, just like a real survival situation. -
Standalone - Zombie spawns and Zombie Types
tombom replied to guyver1's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What are you the liberal media only quoting random lines to make it look bad? Read the rest fucktard and you would see i said it mixes 28 days later and romero. Second a fresh zombie would most likely be able to run since decomposition hasn't started taking effect. You're and idiot. Besides none of this would even be possible if rigamortis was in effect anyways. Read a book. -
Interesting concept, it looks like you are actually pulling ideas from Dead Frontier with the whole base thing.

Standalone - Zombie spawns and Zombie Types
tombom replied to guyver1's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Here's the thing, i love left 4 dead i think it is an amazing game and helped bring life to a genre being held together by resident evil, a game not everyone is into, but Dayz is not left 4 dead. Left 4 dead is a different type of infection, Dayz is a more realistic look on zombies. It combines romero characteristics and 28 days later. Zombies DO NOT EVOLVE. They are dead and the only evolving they do is decomposing more and more. Eventually the threat of zombies would go away because they wouldn't be able to sustain themselves any longer and just fall apart. Enjoy the game and remember a little lesson from The Walking Dead: Fear the living... -
Don't even make third-person an option for DayZ standalone
tombom replied to Pomegranate's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
you're retarded... like seriously... maybe you just suck ever think of that? Anyway i play third person purely cause i like to see my character, especially in an rpg. It's an ego thing -
get a better computer

Well yeah if you want to get technical but they spawn pretty far out so i dont see it happen often but thats because the game would lag if they already existed. There is so much code going on so the server can connect to your local connection and help take the load of the server itself. Not the point though, i cant tell you how many times ive run into a building and there is a zombie chilling in it with no one to be seen

[for Standalone]Struggling(fight close and personal) - move-based method.
tombom replied to WiFiN's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Obviously a lot of work would have to be put into it it's not gonna be easy but its not a bad idea at all i think it would only improve gameplay and entertainment -
I get what you're trying to say here and your right. IN THEORY, humanity is what makes us humans and not soul less beast. Killing chips away at the soul and stress can drive someone nuts. Low humanity would mean that you couldn't even reason with someone anymore because they are dangerous. Killing them is the solution which is why you gain humanity for killing bandits, basically you're stopping evil

Obviously you just shoot then ask questions. The system does read self defense but it has to be self defense. Someone has to attack you first for you to get it. So I think you basically shoot people in the face because you get nervous. Plus most bandit are obvious and you get morality for killing them. Stop shooting noobs.

.Zeds already spawn in buildings though. If you're saying that they should spawn in there even after you've cleared it that's unrealistic. Zombies don't just spawn out of thin air. To elaborate on the barricading aspect, obviously if you attract a lot of attention the zed can horde and attack your barricade and bring it down. I don't think they should be invincible I just think they should bea piece of mind that you aren't going to be snuck up on or overwhelmed.

I honestly believe what gives the game a negative effect is that there is no consequence for death. I mean you lose all your stuff and start anew, and i don't necessarily agree that there should be a huge punishment, but in all reality the only people that care about death are the ones who play the game for its true purpose... Survival. Players who grief, not bandits players who just kill to kill, ruin the game for others because they dont care if they die they just want to take everyone with them. Random encounters people get trigger happy all that stuff. In real life people dont immediately open fire because if you die... youre gone forever. I think the developers should just do what they think will make people not want to die and be more cooperative or avoid confrontation.

I mean finding any key is just dumb, honestly the key would most likely be in the car already and if any key could start any car it wouldnt make sense. Now if the original founder of the car has the only set of keys that makes more sense. That way only they could start the car immediately, if anyone wanted to take it they would have to hot wire it every time unless they steal the key too.
