I found a Winchester and I have 12 Gauge ammo for it, but it will not reload, is this a bug?

Doesn't actually explain how I equip my AK so that I can fire it. I know how to pick items up, its the fact the AK is not selectable unlike my 1911, which is.

Hello, I just started playing DayZ today but had a slight problem. I came across an AK but I don't know how to equip it, pressing f doesn't bring it up in the list of items I can use, so how do I equip it?
