I'm not sure if it would require rebuilding the buildings though that's the only problem, maybe if they don't they could add this in, but if they do have to rebuild the buiildings because they are designed as 1 solid structure then I guess another wait is needed :( It's easy to say that though when we have nothing to loose, but from the teams point of view if all the media turn on them, they wont sell nothing the reviews will be all mixed and it's just not what they want.

I won't be the one complaining at all ;) you just said like in real life... I don't see how that happens in real life. Wake up get dressed eat and go kill some people, we don't all do that. Shit on a stick! Lets play Pooh Sticks! Rocket is really interested in seeing how the community in the servers deal with this disease system like how are we going to manage the waste will there be a set point where we go to "go" and how we manage it, to see if we can control disease or just let it spread like wild fire

My thought exactly, what does he think we do feed and cloth ourself then maybe arm ourself to go hunting for each other? >.< Right now I can see the doors happening but not the windows, as Rocket explain in the interview with Shannon the windows are not seperate objects at the moment so not even players can climb through them, although this would be pretty cool ;P It'd stop people camping door ways for sure. So maybe we'll see zombies smash through the doors sooner than windows

No but they could smash through wooden doors :P Missions? Who's gonna stand around with a ? Above there head in the scenerio DayZ is set giving out "Missions" No one >.< The point of DayZ Is to Survive full stop, you have control over 1 thing and 1 thing only. You. The rest of the worlds players could be killing each other off or tampering with water supplies to make them disease ridden, in fact in Dayz all you need to do is keep you alive and there is nothing on your list that makes any sense, once a player is geared what happens then you walk round a corner bang you get shot you are no longer geared... You could do other things with clans / friends or you could go help new spawns or players, you could go fix a car a helicopter go secure a base there is a million and one things to do in the mod when you got gear and the SA is gonna make every single one of them things even harder to do.

Well going on what has been said in recent interviews I think at this stage in the development humanity seems less important with the clothing options now being avalible, I'm sure they will expend the humanity system further but right now I don't think it's at the top of their list

First off I don't know if it should be classed as a FPS game because it's more a sim game really, and I think that's how Rocket has stated it before don't quote me on that though, yes it has shooting aspects but so does GTA whichi you can play in 1st person too but that's not an FPS game. I think the point is that shooting adults over children is more accetable because children are seen as innocent and adults not so much.

Someones been playing MGS4 alot :P I don't think we are going to see stuff like that added in because he's stated there wont be stuff where skills level and your gear is end game basically, so how good you are is shown by your gear, so adding stuff like this wont really fit into this because you will have to have a leveling system for hours played or something

Well again this is going to be down to the individual to make that choice, rob them or kill them. I am hoping that the fire fights are going to be less often but more worth while rather than having people shoot on sight like we do now, but when there is gun fire it should be a good battle between people or even clans

Yeah most things are going to be server side like that so Zombies will get killed and spawn in somewhere I don't know the full mechanics of it but I know that they've said they wont spawn in when a player gets close to a town etc. Some people know how to have a laugh and have some fun you know, hacking was brought up the other night on the interview he did with Shannon, and he said unless you can have the server then it's very unlikely to see stuff like there is now, but people always find ways to hack which I disagree with, but they are addressing that issue too which I am very pleased with. Well if your squad plays at night then I guess there is every chance we could see this happening, alot more team work etc due to the diseases and all the changes being made, I'd love to see that, maybe assigning 1 member of the team to be a "medic" and another a repair guy to help fix broken kit, it'll be really interesting to see what's done and how it all works. They idea though is the devs just create the platform and we use it to make cool things like assigned medics work :) I'm not to sure on the Day/Night system but not many people have asked about this, so I guess we'll have to wait for that :P

I think they have been looking into this, maybe not at release maybe as an update, but I think they are going to be looking into non lethal ways to take players down aswell like maybe choke holds etc. Which would be pretty cool I'd love to sneak up on someone and put 'em to sleep :P This is my point, people read to much into these things, games shouldn't be cancelled or slated for having these sort of things in after all it's a game, parents don't complain when they watch a film where a kid gets beaten up or anything so why should games be different?@Sav112 if you've been following the interviews and dev reports, this is all going to be made possible. Zombies no longer spawn in when players enter an area, they spawn in on a server based action but this wont mean that you can kill all the zombies because they'll spawn back in also no longer making it obvious to where the player is either. They are sorting out the pathfinding etc aswell so Zombies are a real threat to the game, they will be able to actually come inside now and I think their AI will become "smarter" so hopefully along with all the other additions they have been working on this will make the game in general alot harder not just making players a problem, but also zombies, ammo, food, water, diseases etc all of these will always become a problem now. Like oh I need water but this water looks dirty and it's an hour walk to the next water supply now as a player do you take the risk and get some water retreat a bit and try and boil it to make it cleaner? Do you need water that badly that you are willing to risk your health to just drink it without boiling it? Or do you try and find another water supply all together?

Hey LoK :) That's exactly what I'm trying to get across, the media however doesn't see it like that. We as gamers know it is only a game and somethings like have to be done to survive in these types of games. If an infected child was chasing me through a forrest I'd have to kill it or it'd kill me, but it doesn't mean that I'm gonna go shoot a kid in real life >.< Also yes they are not really humans anymore due to the infection so really it's nothing too harmful to anyone if you think they are no longer a living person with a mind and soul they just want to eat you :P I agree I'd be more hesitant to shoot a rabbit, squirrel or any animal in game because to me they are not really a threat to myself or my position.

Not like them? They look pretty damn sexy to me! Go design us something better? :P

Because the MPs or whatever you have in your Country say we have this freedom of speech etc but really we don't everything that gets aired on TV or whatever has to go through a goverment body that makes sure it's no "too explicit" So really we don't have any freedom. Children should be present in GTA V because GTA is based on real world, real cities and real events so why can't you have a mother pushing her kid down the road as you go speeding by in a car being chased by police, it happens.

    DayZ Devblog 25 Jan 2013

The one where if you went on a website you'd get all the cops in the world after you? I won't mention it but if you've played GTA 4 I'm sure no doubt you've heard of it. There was a huge up roar about it aswell, but after all it is just a game that a few people got upset over, but Rockstar have always been in the medias spotlight with the GTA games but all this stuff gets mentioned in films and books but no one picks them apart for it do they? Edit: Yeah I heard about that too, but the game is set in a warzone and I think the purpose of that scene was to show that cities are war zones and things like this DO happen in real life, not every body who dies in a war is a memeber of an armed forces but civvies too. I guess IW wanted to try get this across to people. Their single player campains are designed to tell a story, like I said before the same as a film or a book, telling a story through a game is just a way to make the user feel a part of the story. Take my favourite all time game Final Fantasy 7 the story behind that is truely amazing, but because it was released years ago no one once compained when right at the start they let the plates loose and crush an entire town which would have have people of all ages in.

I nearly laughed like that women I laughed that hard!Edit: I wouldn't have a problem shooting kids in game, but you can kinda see a shitstorm from the press about it.

The only issue I see with adding infected children to a game like this is, the media's reaction to something like this. We all have our own views on it, yes it'll make spotting them harder and they could potentially be faster or whatever, but if the media backfires on the Dev team saying it's cruel then the game might loose some backing. It's like treading on thin ice really, it's possible but dangerous.

Ivan & Martin Free on bail

Well surely all that matters now is that they are at home with their families where they belong. People can say all sorts on why or how or whatever none of that bothers me. They are back and as a community we should all be thankful that they are home.
  18. Wake me up when it's tomorrow! >.> First thing I'll do when I wake up is look on my phone for the tumblr update. then I shall go back to sleep if it's not up xD! Going into hibernation until my DayZ alarm rings! (I must invent one of them)

Ivan & Martin Free on bail

Well Ivan and Martin, I am truely pleased to see you out and smiling and back with your loved ones. I hope the rest of the legal stuff goes well for you both and we all look forward to your work, not just DayZ or ArmA 3 but everything :) Best of luck to you both! We are all behind you.

    Dying and the Consequences-SA

Leaderboards and scoreboards don't really have a place in DayZ at all, unless when the SA comes out they do a tournament kinda server where using the powers of mathmatical magic and computer know how a forumla of some sorts is created that measures how well a player is doing so it's not just kills, you could include like deaths food, time spent on the server, humanity etc and they could all be apart of your overall score on a weekend tournament or something just for fun really but other than that scoreboards are a no no.
  21. I knew this photo would come to bite me in the rear... Of course I kid xD
  22. Get a wireless keyboard? Also well if the disease can transfer from human to human I'm sure the Zombie genes can be past from Zombie to Animal, this would make it harder for players cause you could be getting mauled by a wolf, a bear, you could have a crazy stalker zombie bird after you this would stop them just becoming a side attraction to the game and hopefully make them more a part of the game. But wildlife is part of life and should be considered into the game either way, but more than just for food, they can spread diseases eat dead players bodies, become zombies, maybe even use their fur for clothing to turn a normal top into a winter top for more warmth?
  23. That would be good because lets face it if a zombie outbreak hit us right now, how many of us would know half of what we can already do ingame? I mean starting a fire can be hard if the wood is damp, who actually knows how to cut the meat off a dead animal? So it should play a bigger part because not everyone can change a tire either. Like Seraphine said more animals would be good, maybe infected animals too from eating zombie meat or the other way round a zombie biting of them too. Animals like bears, eagles, crows are all preditors so having a bear chase you could work out or having crows, vultures picking at your dead remains would add more realism too.

    Dying and the Consequences-SA

No it's unlikely someone will help you out, but this isn't just about your corpse though, you'd have to add an equal risk element to all corpses like they are trying to do with breaking things like NV goggles if you loot some there is every chance they could be broke and need fixing, if you get mauled to death by a zombie or a zombie eats your body then the other chances and things that could be added is your old corpse turning into a zombie adding an extra zombie to the map and loosing all loot you had on you before, but this would go for every player so that could make things very interesting :P

    Dying and the Consequences-SA

Sabotage! I like how you think! That'd be a cool idea too, I mean if you could cut a suit, you are basically using chemical warfare against that person. Patching a suit like that up would both be simple but hard cause I guess if there is a slight gap in the stitching you are in real trouble Although this idea of fixing it fits perfectly into what has been said about the new item system. But anyone who thinks lock out timers once you die is a good idea, it's not think it through if you have friends they can stash everything for you, you want to make it risky to loot a body in general not just your own
