DayZ is the Future

I had heard about this Mod from a few friends. After resisting for a week, the curiosity got the better of me, so I bought it. My first experience in this game was being placed in complete blackness, on a cloudy night, and on a hardcore server. I found some traintracks, and crept along them, afraid to toss a flare. Eventually, I was beaten to death by a horde of zombies as I had stumbled into a town and never realized it. fun game!

I have not been able to play more than 2 minutes on any server this evening without getting the "no message received" thing and eventual disconnect. Not getting angry as I know this is an alpha, but I would still like to know if there is anything I can do to increase my chance of being able to play. right now, it isn't the zombies or the other players that are my greatest threat, it's lagging out in the middle of a street where I'm sure to get killed next time I logged in...that's the bigger threat. great game, just want to know if I can do something to improve my connection or if I just need to pack more patience. I'm gonna call it a night in game as I just can't get anything going...been disconnected 10 times this past hour.

can anyone give some information about the blood levels at which your screen starts doing things, and what the proper medical treatment is? Also, the day/night cycle...is it correct to think that it is real time and not accelerated in any way?
