PSA: If you put "No KoS" in the title of your server, I'm going to favorite it and stop in every day to kill at least one person
Hoj0 (DayZ) replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in General Discussion
its not the exact same spot... there is almost a thousand meters of shoreline that you spawn from. just because you spawn next to a killzone doesnt mean your obligated to go into said killzone. -

You make it sound like they know exactly where your going to spawn every time or something. I've never had issue's with people "spawn killing". those "people" you are referring to, need to stop making stupid decisions, and in turn posting on this forum saying the game is broken because they keep doing the same dumb thing over and over expecting a different result. Example: Spawns at kamenka, komarovo, balota -> runs to airstrip, the following happens: A- dies, respawns runs immediately to the airstrip again if spawned at those 3 locations. If in cherno, runs for a firehouse, if in elektro, runs to a firehouse might get lucky and get out of there, or might just die and start over at step 1. B- lives, gets a gun, runs up the hill to cherno apts, then to cherno, dies C- lives, runs to military bases otw to NWAF....dies these are the people complaining about KoS and Spawn Killing, they keep putting themselves in the worst parts of the map where its guaranteed you will be shot if armed, then rage wondering why ""everyone"" in this game KoS... -
How do you fill a canteen? Can it be done at a pond?
Hoj0 (DayZ) replied to s1rGr1nG0's topic in New Player Discussion
its really glitchy, from what ive seen you have to be at the edge of a pond, looking in some wierd direction to even get the menu option. -
DayZ is the only multiplayer survivor game thing where you can't carry like 10 guns, WHICH IS FANTASTIC, lets keep it this way

having an SSD will improve your FPS, some HDD's cannot keep up with loading textures or data. I know this from experience. I Upgraded the old HD that i had in my system to a solid state and got about a 7-8 fps increase overall. Its not much, but the game ran much smoother and did not twitch as much.

good idea, you should be allowed to disconnect and whatnot, but if you kill your game or loose connection, legitimate or malicious, your character should remain in place for a period of some, giving someone the opportunity to kill you for combat logging. Would probably have to have something in place to where you couldnt change servers for that same period when you disconnect.

I agree, I would like to see more civilian type weapons, with the option to craft attachments. Military loot is fine, but it shouldn't be so commonplace as it is currently.

Mosin by far, if you are going into a city, just take the scope off and use the iron sites.

Suggestion: Beards that grow with time alive.

i like this idea. Increasing the value of the individual character could reduce the KoS encounters. Farther from the coast. I don't however, think it will get rid of bambi sniping. Having a character who progresses the longer he is alive would decrease the likelihood of someone choosing to put themselves into a dangerous situation.

OP Mentions safe zones, definitely not. all that will do, is have people camping outside waiting for someone to cross some invisible barrier and then getting wrecked in the face by a sniper. Sounds like you played Wa-(the game that shall not be mentioned) and actually enjoyed it. If you die, you die, make better decisions next time you see another player and you wont spend so much time trying to run to your looted corpse. The game is about survival. Not Call of Duty with zombies.

You call atlanta a shithole, then you follow up with saying chicago. I live in the ATL area as well, and its not that bad, downtown is decent for a major city, but South of 20 it gets kind of bad, every city has their bad parts, it just depends on where you live.

Ran a search, did not see a suggestion for this. But the Mosin Nagant Thread below got me thinking about it, I would really like to see the animation of the person actually pulling the action back to load the next bullet, right now there is just a set amount of time between the rounds. Would be more immersive if animations for certain weapons were correct. Such as pulling the action back on the nagant or enfield to load the next bullet after you've fired. Just a thought. http://dayzmod.com/f...agant-to-day-z/ Here is a video of what I'm suggesting. He kind of does it wonky because the action is on the right side.

I like this idea, if you see fresh dirt where the body was buried you could try and exhume it.

Why make instanced or underground bases?
Hoj0 (DayZ) replied to Jeremiah Cross's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I dont really care if they add it to the game, but having it so people can flood the edges of the map with random bullshit is what I'm talking about, if its instanced, fine by me. But I just don't want to be running through the woods survivoring and run into a Metropolis of useless unneeded crap. We already have a bunch of cities on the map, theoretically it would be easier to just clear out a city of zombies and burn all the bodies than to build a new one, having small simple structures is fine to me, I just don't want it abused to the point where every server I go to has someone re-spawning and running to their based to re-arm, it removes the whole concept of YOU ARE DEAD Instead it will be, hey i died, let me go grab something from all this gear i stashed in my hovel. People who own servers are already adding base's to their mission files, why make it standard so everyone has to deal with it. idk, i just feel its unneeded. It takes away from the concept of survival and turns this into Sim's 4 with zombies. -

Why make instanced or underground bases?
Hoj0 (DayZ) replied to Jeremiah Cross's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Tents are fine, or even Lean-to's or a bunch of branches leaned up against a tree, even hiding stuff up in trees, but full size structures and walls like what some of the stuff i was reading is suggesting just seems like too much. -
Stuff a bunch of coins down the double barrel shotgun
