    In Dayz it is important not to get attached to your gear, because when you lose it, (and you WILL lose it) you do not want to be depressed. Also when you are going to go into an area (ie. barracks, city, field...) make sure you scout the area, no matter how much time it takes and no matter how useless it seems because after being alive for a few weeks you do not want to die because you forgot to check the opposing treeline when going into a city. Overall play smart, be patient, and if anything gets in your way of survival kill it (THAT DOES NOT MEAN KILL IF SOMEONE IS 800M away RUNNING THE OTHER DIRECTION) Best of wishes, LieutentantSmurf :P

    My friend and I were on Panthera and we were running around the northern airfield, by arnoldstein. After a few minutes of being logged on we stumbled upon a very well hidden tent with the tip of its corner sticking out of a rock. It took us ten minutes to find the sweet spot to enter this tent, but what sat inside was well worth the trouble. Inside there were two as50's with 15 m107 rounds, 2dmrs and mags, rangefinders, coyotes, nvgs, m9 sd's, and all of the works. We took what we could and ran. Please share your experiences.

    Make sure that your drivers are up to date, and to be honest you might want to scrap this GPU when you can, and save up for at least a 600 series one.

    I feel like this topic is breached every day on the Dayz forums, and this is what I say every time: If you are tired of the PvP, be a hero,and avoid players. Getting killed by someone is not an excuse to be angry at the game. Learn to be more cautious and be smart about how you approach people. The motto I run with in this game that makes me enjoy it to the full extent is... kill only the players that get in the way of your survival Besides this it is a judgment call.

    Here are my 2 cents on this... Being a dayz player for more than a year and a half I do not believe that there was a different feel at that time. I believe that every player has there own experience, and that the feeling of joy and adventure comes depending on how a player approaches the game. If you really want this experience OP talks about, don't watch any tutorials or deep gameplays and learn the nuts and bolts of dayz on your own.

    Some advice, go to big cities when you first spawn to get basic supplies. Then get the heck out of there and move north.
