    DayZ Mod 1.8 Update

Does this mean that combat loggers become infected?

I also was wondering this. IT would be funny if a really damaged vest had items fall out of it (from holes or whatever).

I haven't seen this discussed yet, but will there be a way to repair damaged items?

    A few suggestions

Hi guys first time post on these forums, long time lurker. I just had some thoughts I wanted to get evaluated by the community, regarding ways to improve the Dayz experience. First is regarding item abundance. When playing Dayz there is an abundance of things like flares, food, ammo, drinks, and other various items. Other items such as cars, military weapons, and other high end equipment are more rare. This for the most part makes sense. In a zombie apocalypse there would be an abundance of household items such left lying in houses, this I do not dispute. Military items would obviously be rare, as they currently are for the most part in game. My gripe is the abundance of specifically food in areas that are relatively easily accessed. Houses in the less populated areas which should have been stripped of food long ago(because there would be less zombies populating them) are still often full of food and water. It seems to me that these locations should very rarelt hold food or drink items as in a apocalypse scenario these would have been some of the first to go. Areas such as cities/heavily populated areas should still have higher amounts of food and water as the citizens living there would probably be wiped out mroe rapidly because of how close proximity they would be during an outbreak, and the ensuing zombies in the area would ensure it would be difficultto gather these supplies. If Dayz were to implement this food and water scarcity more I think it would do a few things: 1. People may KoS even more in order to get not only better weapons but food and water as well. 2. People could do the opposite and band together to raid cities (which should have even higher zomie counts IMO). Basically, as Dayz currently stand there is too much emphasis on finding guns as opposed to food and water. In an apocolypse I think people would be concerned with guns, but food would be a higher prioity than it is now. P.S. How do people feel about zombies spawning inside buildings in the SA? I think it would add even more to the anxiety, especially like the game feels like in the beggining before you understand zombies walk inside buildings/ do not spawn in them. Thanks for reading and please let me know your thoughts.
