[uPDATE: We have now changed our server numbers/names to conform to the request made by the DayZ Developers Server Naming Scheme] Dallas 53 -> US 228 Dallas 54 -> US 229 Dallas 55 -> US 230 New Server -> US 231 The point of this thread is to allow the players of the Server Communities on our servers a place to discuss/talk and update us with any bugs/issues/oddities/hackers they've come across.     Banned on all Vigilant Addiction Servers for nothing?

    Your ban was passed down by Battleye directly; not us. I was gracious enough to excuse the ban and remove it from our servers because I couldn't find any evidence locally to our servers that you were hacking. You even came to me directly about it and we handled it; I'm not so sure why you came here... but mark this resolved.

    @LTDestler - There's nothing server admins can do; this is across all DayZ Servers. The game is completely open up to Hackers because of Bypass Scripts which means we can't detect anything at all. We need a name and we have to be around when they're hacking; which has low odds because even then it's hard to confirm on "Official DayZ Terms". Until BattlEye/ArmA2 does some major updating/fighting against hackers; there's nothing to be done. I wish I could say otherwise but this is across all DayZ Servers. We're working on tools to catch hackers but I fear they'll be out too late. However - We have started our own private hives; which are different than the 'Public/Official' hive so there's no 'rules' being broken. It's simply run by us and each server has its own Hive so people can't "Ghost Servers". It's pretty much a "What happens on those servers, stays on those servers."     True, but honestly as an Admin - I could careless where someone is all the time; the system could certainly mask the coordinates and only 'warn' if someone takes an extremely long 'teleport' or something. But, to me personally, location isn't a priority to me; illegal items and kills are. (knowing when someone kills another) Kills, because if I see someone kill like 4-5 guys in 2 seconds... I'm pretty sure they were teleported by a hacker. Or, if the system sees a few people 'arrive' at loc-x all at once it tossed out a warning flag. All I care for is being to identify 'odd' things, having a log of it (IP/Name/GUID) and the ability to add them to my bans list/warn list or suspicions list,

    One abusive server admin would be better than 1,000 hackers freely hacking away in DayZ with no regard or care for others because there's no system in place to stop them. An Abusive Admin can be stopped, easily. You just report his/her server and/or stop going to it. Hackers, right now, are just running freely in DayZ because there's just nothing to combat them. As I've been saying in the DayZ admin channels... DayZ right now is just open season for Hackers; and that's unfortunate. It's also a sad time for Gamers and this generation; as an 'older' (or original gamer) Gamer... it's really sad to see how disrespectful some gamers are and how 'cool' hacking/exploiting and even disruptive some gamers have become. We as Gamers need come together, a movement, or anything, against Hacking/Exploiting... just isn't cool. I laugh, only because how sad it is... lol, but it's like this generation needs the D.A.R.E. program, but against hacking and exploiting.

    Personally I'm more concerned with translations from "RPT/Scripts" talk to "Plain English" for admins to easily read and find people with items they shouldn't have. So, I hope your work leads you in that direction as well. We'll be able to start combating hackers with a tool that can one; give us location updates on people (Yes I see the issue there), parse out and show us 'bad/hacked inventory/items' of people and also give us the whole 'Jim killed Bob; Rob and Tom were nearby'. *I don't actually ever play DayZ anymore; I just admin all the servers and keep watch. This is why having a location update for players on the admin side is a good time; true - other admins could abuse it, but they'd get caught eventually and either lose their player base, or be reported and get blacklisted. We need to bring respect, honesty and trust back into gaming (yea that's a long shot right?), but it needs to happen.

    Sadly I still feel kind of clueless if there's any actual 'usable' function at this time? I get it... that it reads the RPT and gets some other details; but my user list was quite large. In the end I'd want to only be displaying 'Suspicions' (perhaps its own tab) #1 for me is still being able to tell who killed who, when and where.

    5 More servers will be going up soon on the West Coast. I ping an average of 72ms to it from Central Texas. Initially we'll be copying the same server scheme/gameplay we have on our Central Servers; however we'll be lauching a website/forum for all our servers in a week or two and will likely let the community vote on those gameplay styles.     Bad/Hacked item detection in yet? Didn't look like it so I just wanted to double-check; maybe I'm using/reading the program wrong, lol, or just can't figure it out. I'm mainly interested in being able to check when people come on to my server with items that shouldn't be in DayZ; then getting a report/read out of that with their name, IP and GUID information. My secondary interest is in the 'x killed y and z-people were nearby' to find teleporting hackers easier. A third interest would be getting Email alerts on those "odd" items above; or when x-people were killed within y-time; or even on a RSS feed or something.

    Good to hear it man - I was going to have a look at it myself; as an admin for a few servers on a dedicated box. Was there a quick 'how-to' on anything yet; or are things still pretty early? I was able to get it connected to all my various servers on the same dedicated box... but had no idea how to read/use the program effectively; yet.

    Completely disagreeing with your Ganzor and that's fine if we have to agree to disagree; however you're shoving about a month of time together to sound like it occurred within a weeks period of time. Also I certainly am implying that you've "made up" some of your claims; because you factually have. How can I know? Because I have the resources, tools, logs,monitors and system to know exactly what is going on with our servers. So without a doubt I know that what you stated were implications; not fact. Now if you really want to get technical and nit-pick at everything; then let's have it. With some sarcasm; I'm sure you attempted to play on our servers 100% of the 24 hour period in a day, and took into consideration of new patches/updates/betas, everyone else's responses/reports in the community and took the time and decency to report any issues you were having to our website. Have our servers went down? Certainly. A day or two at a time? Nope. You want a fact? The servers were up, online and running 24/7... the issue was with the whitelisting which is out of our control. I noticed you've changed your focus of your implications as well; however, you're going to feel that same "30 seconds to no lag, or 2 minutes of nothing" anywhere and everyone else as it's not related to our servers when issues like that arise. According to our logs and activity; the servers have been playable for a very long time now and I'm interested to know why you came here to vent frustrations and 'leave' and not even inform a soul of the issues you were having? You might have realized then it was felt all across the community of DayZ. I'd appreciate it if you took the time to education yourself on our the servers/hive communication works and how to identify when the fault of an issue falls to a server, or to the Hive/DayZ Communication. It's certainly not easy to understand as I've had to explain it to many. I certainly appreciate you not being a complete tool/troll about the situation; and using the word 'disingenuous' earned you a clap. You certainly could have given us a heads up about your issues/problems on the server; but instead you never got in touch with us and just vent/rant posted this. In the end; you're going to run into the same problems where were you go and I just hope you realize that so you don't end up moving from server to server every time there's an update/release. Oh, and for whoever's server you're on now... they'd appreciate a heads up when their servers have odd things happening. We work extremely close with Ander and a few others; so our servers are usually one of the 'firsts' to move to the latest updates/patches and try them out for the rest of the community. I won't deny that our servers have been 'crippled' due to bad/unforeseeable issues with updates/patches; but we fix them that same day; if not that same hour. As I said before - Good luck on your new server and I hope it stays perfect for you forever!

    @Ganzor - The Ruleset Changes were provided/announced on July 19th - If you don't like what that server was turned into you can certainly just go over to one of our other ones; since all 'Styles' are being provided. All our servers were running "Regular" difficulty which is what "Noobie" is based upon; with changes to one or two things like Crosshairs being enabled I'd appreciate it if you could correct your statement. Our servers have never been down for 'days' from an issue on our sides of things. Nor has there ever been a 'Week of Crippling Lag' on our servers; I'd know it because I have a lot of people that report to me directly about the state of the servers on a daily basis (Yes, they play every day and on multiple servers). There has only been one case of recent 'lag' and that was yesterday and was unrelated to our servers; it's related to an issue/exploit in the server configs that DayZ Supplied; which we believe is now corrected but it's a fresh fix so we're monitoring the effects. The one time our servers did go down for a length of time was because of slow DayZ Support when it comes to Whitelisting new server IP's - Totally out of our hands and with how busy the DayZ guys are you just have to understand it takes time. Also, I hope you realize that no matter where you go you're going to feel the same things did you do on our servers and vise-versa. About 90% of issues you feel while playing on a DayZ Server are going to be Hive/Beta Patch related. The reason why our servers are so popular is because there's Admins like me that do what I can, asap, to locate the issues in new patches/updates and get a fix out to stabilize the connections. Good luck on your new servers and I hope you find a home that's overattentive as we are!

    We are looking to run some various specific server types/styles for everyone so there's a large selection of "Game Styles" people may want to be apart of... here's a few things we had in mind. Remember, we can't break the rules and terms that DayZ enforces on the servers; but hopefully, with some specific changes to the difficulty... we can customize some settings and make some 'Unofficial' servers for various game experiences. Here's what we had in mind: DayZ Server Considerations: #1 A [Hardcore] Server - The hardest and roughest difficulty there can be. Everything is off, can you survive in the toughest conditions? #2 A [Noobie] Server - The easiest settings with everything pretty much turned on. #3 A Large 70 Slot - This size of a server is just asking for a heavy amount of bandits! Form your own 'Death Squads' and kill Survivors; or form up a posse and hunt Bandits! #4 A [Regular] Server - What we current run - Your 'middle of the road' difficulty and realistic settings. #5 A Unofficial [PvP] Server - Like the 70 slot server yet only 40-50 players; with an 'Unofficial' declaration of various 'PvP Areas' near the coastline. #6 A [Regular] Server No 3rd Person - As it states, our normal 'realistic' servers with no 3rd person enabled and crosshairs on. #7 - Community Decision! - You make the call!

    We have updated to 95099 and started up with a fresh scripts file so those of you that might have been getting errant script restrictions may no longer have that problem. However if you do; it's out of our hands and let's hope that we can get some answers/help from DayZ Devs on fixing it.

    All servers are back and just waiting for Whitelisting. Everyone can do their part by sending PMs, emails, etc to the DayZ Staff to attempt to get these servers Whitelist Updated. They'll be 100% once we have our whitelisting.
