Toombs (DayZ)

I have everything set to Very High expect AA. Have Post Process disabled. I hit 30 to 40 FPS in the cities and 70 to 80 sometimes out in the boonies. I run with a FX-8350 at stock(I might OC soon though to see how much improvement I get.....just to see if it's worth it.) and a GTX 670 FTW. Been worth every penny I spent.....the game runs awesome. Now if I'm playing Breaking Point and that lovely fog rolls out I can dip to 25 FPS......that is a pain.

Me and Walten are still gonna group up. I haven't heard from Warsaw in about a week(real life getting in the way of gaming is my guess......damn real life.) Hey man I've been playing on and off of BMRF for a couple of months now. But I have to ask what happended to you on Redux? I logged in a few times to join ya but never saw ya. I'll once again join ya. Looking at the ages of people who are looking to join I'll be the old man of the group......but I don't need a cane yet!!

I'd like one just to test out the game. Would be sweet to win a contest of some type too. I never seem to win any of these.....let's make it a 1st!!!

Yep I get around the same #'s as everyone else here. Sometimes to make me feel better I'll go on a empty or low pop server and run around in the woods to hit 70 FPS to feel good. Most of the time recently I've been looking at a You Died screen more than anything though :).

Yeah the AMD 8350 runs this game like a champ......and I haven't even OC it cause I don't need to. I also got a GTX 670 and coming from my old computer it's like night and day. I haven't seen my FPS drop below 45 so I'm good with it.

if your using DAYZ Commander go to settings and click the checkbox to allow Commander to use diffrent version to load game. That worked for me. Hope that helps and good luck.

That happended to me last night too. I just clicked the little box to allow Commander to run diffrent version on ARMA to get Steam connection to work(it's in settings). Hope that helps. Good luck.

So I just joined a server today around noon (CST US). Went about my day getting gear. Went to Electro,Starry,Novy then headed up to NWAF. I don't use chat very much cause most of the time I'm just experincing the game the way I like it. I don't like asking for lifts or gear. I don't want to make any buddies cause I don't think that fits gamestyle. No I'm not a bandit.....but I'm not against killing someone if I need to. So the server I was playing on was US 252. It seemed pretty cool....people used side chat more than I would have liked. But hey it's not my server. So around 5:30 ish I was getting hit with some pretty bad lag. The game was getting really choppy. At 1st I thought it might have been cause of the rain.....it seemed to be coming down heavier than normal and I don't exactly play on a great system. So I typed that in side chat to see if it was everyone or just me. Next thing you know I am ported from NWAF to a open field with everyone else on the server it seems. I hear gunshots so I take off running. So instead of dying and starting over from scratch I Aborted like I have seen a lot of people suggest when I hacker does that to save your character and his gear. Well I went to another server to play for awhile and got hit by a hacker there too.....made me and everyone else do Gangnam Style. Logged out and went back to US 252. When I get back on a see a guy in Ghille suit about 200m from me in this field. I hit Z and go prone and make my way to bush. I had him in my sight several times but never fired cause he didn't fire at me.....figured I'd be nice guy. Well then I heard shot fired....I scoped him again and he was looking at me. So to be safe I fire and killed him. Well he wasn't a happy camper according to side chat.....than the next thing you know I am being accused of being a hacker in side chat......people claiming I ported all all over the map. And the big one was I had mentioned lag right before the port and than logged shortly after we had been ported. Next thing you know BANNED!!!!! Now I understand people don't like hackers......but trust me everyone I am not a hacker. I'm a 42 year old guy who plays video games casually. I spent the 1st 2 weeks playing this game on a non PVP server to learn how to play it. If I get killed I get killed. Yeah it sucks but it's just a game. If your gonna accuse people of hacking everytime you get killed and Admin if you take people at thier word without hearing my side than you suck as Admins. To the guy I sniped....sorry you got sniped. I did enjoy your looting your AS50 before the Admin banned me.....but it didn't so no PVP.

While I was a huge fan of The X-Files I really started using the name after The Chronicles of Riddick. Toombs the boutny hunter had all the best one liners. I've used it in most of my online games. I was debating using Ron Swanson or Ash from Army of Darkness fame but decided to stick with what I know. "I should have taken the money" is the line I use everytime I die.

Earlier today I ran off the last flight of stairs at Devils Castle. Yep broke my leg. I just started playing and been trying to stay low of the rader. See if I could survive and avoid people on a full server......so I didn't ask for help over chat. I crawled all the way to NWAF. It was the only place I could think of that might have morphine!!!! To top it off it was getting to dark and I don't have NVG's. I got there after A LOT of crawling.......I'm stuborn!! I ended up getting help though. Heard a voice over direct telling me to drop my weapons and he would help. It was a pain in the ass.....but that's what survival is all about right? P.S. I really hope that doesn't happen again though :)

yeah I signed up for the site last night. Just need to log into the server and give it a go. I got RL stuff going on this weekend(got my son) so might not have time.....but thanks for the heads up.

Yeah I have moved on. It seems like all these private servers have these vent/teamspeak channels that they ask you to join. That's cool....but to honest I don't want to hear people talking while I play....it's bad enough on most of them in side chat. I know it's for quick information about hackers and yeah it's a good way to know if someone is an honest player and not some asshole trying to ruin the game for people. I'm just pissed I got Banned instead of killed. I mean he was the 1st dude I killed in DayZ.....EVER. I wanted to savor the feeling of looting his AS50 and running scared from his friends....but NOOOOOOOOOOO. :lol: !! Oh well.

yeah I know. Just felt like venting for a bit. I just was amazed at how many times people were being accused of hacking when they got killed. Is it like this on most servers? I'm fairly new to the game(just bought Arma a week before X-Mas) and any ideas for a good server to join would be helpful.
