If anything, it's more like an exploit. A hack is where you insert coding of your own or change how the game truly functions to get yourself an advantage. Exploiting is where you take advantage of a glitch or bug that can give you an advantage, something that is in the game, accessable to everyone, but wasnt an intended design plan (i/e looking through walls with third person mode, or using a glitch that dupes your character). It is possible he hacked, but given that it is a known bug and has been reported several times, i highly doubt he was actually hacking. If you banned everyone who exploited a glitch in the alpha there wouldnt be many alpha players anymore. Just the other day my brother died, but instead of actually dying, when he cranked up the gama and pressed esc, he was a seagull and he could fly anywhere he wanted. You know that you would have used that shit to the fullest if it happened to you, I know I would have.Just get used to bugs like this and dont freak out. Just be a helpful alpha tester and report the bugs at http://feedback.dayzgame.com.

Bugs in the alpha? lol. those were core features in the mod. I assumed they were deliberate /sarcasm. Point taken though.

While true, it is also true that in walking dead, they dont have a chance of breaking their leg walking down 2 stairs (which has happened to me several times,) or have a chance of spontaneously dying for no apparant reason just by logging in (happened to me and my friends 5 times.). The fact is, dying in this game is too easy, and the slightest mistake, or even NO mistake at all can fuck you over so you have to walk for 2 days to catch up to your friends, assuming they dont die before you get there and then they respawn where you were.

As has been pointed out frequently, this is NOT the mod. In the mod, you had UI. In the mod there were vehicles. In the mod there werent diseases in clothing or bloodtypes. The standalone is evolving as it goes. The difference between a mod and a game is that you can do whatever you want with a mod. A game you have to face issues like balance, playability as well as enjoyability in a game. Bringing up an idea for the game is not the same as bringing it up in the standalone. And no matter how beaten to death it was in the mod, the topic is still just as valid. Stop being rude and counterproductive.

Mojo, no matter how skilled you are at the game, you cant make walking 20 kilometers faster. you would HAVE to loot all the way there for thirst and hunger. It will take a long time. As it is, there are still spawnpoints. I'm not saying that each of those circles represent 1 spawn point. i'm saying that you would spawn anywhere within those circles, you just choose the circle. it would be hard to camp those spawns just like the ones we currently have.

Well, thats why I said you would leave cherno and electro etc out of the spawn locations available, because like you say, they would be the obvious choices. I dunno, I admit the loot situation could be a problem. Got any ideas for a better way to spawn near friend other then choosing a spawn? What about choosing a friend and spawning within an hours walk from them on an east to west scale, but still spawning on the beach? that way all you have to do is go north to catch up with your friends. Would still be a very broad spawning radius. Would need a friend/party system though to work

Now before all of you jump on me saying that choosing spawns defeats the purpose of the game, just hear me out. A big part of the game is about multiplayer interactions, be that pvp, or with friends. As it is, with no choice in spawns, if you are incredibly unlucky (like me) you will repeatedly end up spawning on the opposite side of the continent as your friends. At that point, your options are now as follows: A: Give up on meeting up with your friend any time within the next day or so. B: Try to find one of the rare and elusive zombies that are out there to kill yourself C: Start walking all the way from Kamyshovo to get to your friends at the Balota Airstrip. Now, I understand the counter argument as to why not have choosable spawns. A: Spawn camping B: People using it to try to get their gear back C: Remove the direness of dying, by making it not as costly (i/e having to walk for 6 hours to get back to where you were.) Now, my idea would be as follows. When you die, you see the map with all the spawn locations. Each spawn location could be a wide sphere that you would spawn within which would extremely reduce spawn camping in a selected spawn situation. You could make the spheres quite big, so you will still be required to walk to wherever your wanting to be going, but hey, at least your in the general area that you want to be. Spawns would probably be just like they are already, but you just choose what area you spawn at. To do that you would probably have to remove the spawns at the major cities, but on the whole, I think it would be good. The spawn camping issue wouldn't be a problem in this situation. On the other hand, people would probably still use it to get their gear back, but I personally don't think that's a problem. In any case, if you made the spawn points wide enough, they still might not be very close to where they died. It would somewhat lessen dying, but does that really diminish the gains? As it currently is, it is pretty much impossible for friends to meet up if they don't happen to spawn near each other. No vehicles (yet) make long distance traveling very tedious, and the suicide restrictions prevent you from spawn hopping. I think that this would be a reasonable solution. It could even be a setting set by the server, options from having say 0 choosable spawn locations, to have 4 very large broad locations to having 16 more precise spawns. Any thoughts on this? Did I miss any of the counter arguments? Try to keep things constructive I'm gunna link a verrrrrry rough mockup of what i'm meaning. You would spawn anywhere within those red circles, you just choose which one. http://i.imgur.com/dOdDK1c.jpg?1
