    Ammunition types

    I like the multiple types idea, partially at least: HE doesn't really exist for rifles IRL, so no incendiary is only useful against vehicles, I wonder how much use it would be? Subsonic... only for larger calibres (nope, there is no 223/M16 subsonic ammo, AK subsonic is also just about non-existent, so 308 and pistols only...) but with totally different balistics holow-points - OK would include a special "sniper" HPBT ammo which would make the sniper rifles a lot more accurate (so with regular cheap army ammo they would not be as accurate as they are now) how about AP ammo?

    copter variants and weapons

    avoid getting shot and wait for it to run out of fuel; or try this: either way, you are fu**** On topic: choppers are OK, end game for a lot of people, BUT no weapons on them, and probably should take a lot of work, maintenance could/should also be included.

    Thoughts on the M107 / AS50

    Have no experience with ACE, but I thought the whole thing was to be done without HUD or other help (so you learn to estimate wind strength &direction), also range table would have to be a lootable item (if you find it with the rifle you're good, if not you get to make your own for the specific rifle/caliber). Can't have it all I guess

    EASY MODE!

    This - once rocket opens the SA for modders, this will be a legit option, so why implement this now? And once SA has sold 1mil copies easier version will be developed, rocket has said it already (xbox ;) The biggest problem wiyh easier gameplay - do you really expect people will move from easier to harder once they' ve got used to easy? I don't think so...

    Shotgun pellet improvements

    I just checked, you are correct, shotgun is one shot kill in theory, I must be a crappy shot with it cause was never able to immediately kill with one shot of pellets

    which part of the dayz do you enjoy the most? to each his own, but for me the first couple of days, when I didn't know sh**** and than actually found a lee, I really felt I achieved something; and as I was playing assassin creed couple of days ago, it just didn't give me that feeling of achievement; if you offer people easier gameplay, they are just playing for bragging rights, but miss the best part of the game... And I would have less people to mess with. And devs would have to spend their time to implement these options instead of presenting the game sooner, arghhh

    Thoughts on the M107 / AS50

    IRL 50 cals are actually easier to shoot than normal rifles (well, recoil and sound are a b*** but that is after the shot) - because the heavier and faster bullet is less affected by the wind compared to a 308 or similar as much as training goes, I wouldn't mind if there was more sway etc in the game, but than it's either skills for improvement, or lousy accuracy with all the weapons all the time. I have a feeling most people will oppose. wind factor - hmm, can it be accurately replicated (winds, cross winds between buildings, trees and objects moving naturally in the trees to give you feedback of wind speed/direction along the bullet path)?

    friendly fire should be an option on servers

    Control freaks seems a bit rash, we just like the game for what it is, that's why we play it - and harshness of the game distinguish it from other games, its one of a kind; with options such as friendly fire you basically change the game completely look at it on the bright side, it will force you and your mates to communicate better, which in turn will make you a better team in other games.

    Shotgun pellet improvements

    OP, the image you posted, that is at 10m, at 100m any shotgun, even with full choke, will have a group like 1m over, and no power at all. I do agree on the power though, up close 12g 00 buck is equivalent to being shot 9or12 times with a 9mm luger, so it should be 12k+ damage per shot at distances below 10m

    Helicopters in the Standalone

    Pls define hard to fly - so hard you cannot fly without a joystick&pedals combo? IMO it should be hard, but still flyable with keyboard and mouse; that, or make the cars, bikes etc harder as well...

    New spawn point - @ 10000 feet

    i see myself landing on the hotel only to realize there is no way down... should be a very rare spawn though, or even better, like a reward, if you live for a long time in game, your next spawn is "special"

    50 cals are ok, they are not uncommon IRl, but they should be: 1.very rare 2.very very loud (like every z in 500m area will start running in the shooters direction) 3.ammo should be very very very very rare 4.ammo does not spawn in vicinity of the weapon, and 1-3 bullets max at any spawn location that way it is kind of an end game object, you can find it, but you will have to work really really hard to get to use it with a large supply of ammo. so when we will see someone with a 50, we will know: a) he worked hard, keep away B) he's only got couple of shots

My point was, that if you are lucky enough, not even depending on time spent in game, the motive to keep your character alive can be even higher; but i just realized now, immunity is kind of a perk, and could be called a "skill" as well... makes me wonder though, if there will be outbreaks of 6 different sicknesses, imagine the death toll and the carnage near the hospitals...

    I like the idea, but implementation would be a bummer The simplest solution would be a menu command thingy (like now give transfusion), but more difficult, like, you would have to look at your patinet, see where he's shot, then go for like trat left leg, desinfect (with whiskey you found in ethe pub), remove bullet with multittol, clean and desinfect again, close the wound, badage, etc; = patient dies of infection becasue you didn't wash your hands first Basically you as a player would remember the proper realistic procedures to do it, they would take realistic time, but would not require a minigame etc. not as imersive but still better than just "bandage"

It seems to me most people that suggest/support skillz because they want people to care more about their character, so there would be less PvP - while this may be a solution for the mod, it is not (IMO) important for the SA - PvP in the mod is rampart because it is the only thing left for the majority of people playing, we've done everything we could think of, we know where to get ammo & weapons so they are abundant, and there haven't been any updates/new stuff to do. SA wil lhopefully be differetn and it will again take us months to figure it out, and all the time new stuff will be added which will keep us interested, rocket said he would make it a lot harder, I really hope there willbe no more duping, so there will automatically be less PvP, and as Wep0n pointed out: If you character is immune to cholera and doesn't have to worry about geting an infection from looting corpses, trust me, we will care about it way more than if he would make a fire quicker the only real problem I see atm is that we're all so used to KOS that we might it to SA - but on the other hand, as Dallas pointed out numerous times, that't the beauty of DayZ - if you remove it, what's the point?
  17. Based on this: It sems 3rd person view will not be as usefull for PVP as it is in the mod, before you switch veiws to use your weapon the target could slip away or kill you already, so... It is good IMO
  18. I' ve read and re-read your post, and while you oviously gave it great thought, i still don't see a solution for "hiding your character" an grinding; both can be done, but separately... And plp would do it...

    What if we removed the crosshair?

    Completely support removing, as Gews video shows you can still accurately hip-fire even without the crosshair +only very experienced shooters can actually hit anything from the hip, and your average survival waking up on the beach is probably not one

    Night time should be toned down

    I don't really agree - the lighting may be somewhat realistic, but it really depends on the server time. While at 11pm it's ok, at 3am it IMO it is pitch dark- too dark. Also, IRL you can "feel" objects, you know when you've hit a wall or something, and get your bearings from that,you know when you've made a turn because there was something in front of you just because you felt it. I don't think there is a feasible way to replicate the touch feeling in game, so if you could see like very basic shapes of objects 3 feet in front of you even in total darkness would be some sort of a compromise. And if you run full sprint in total darkness the character should stumble/trip occasionally...

    Interesting, you guys like the relistic night, but don't like the realistic flashlight blinding; a bit of conflict it seems
