oh so awesome in understanding text and metaphorical language. (watch out ironic/hyperbolic statement you 500-zombie-guy) tho no reason to get personel raging (still)fanboy. so to sum up: you are ok with the whole project to be a failure/multiple failures and a lot broken promises, or if u want to call them "statements". i only give a second chance but none more. im quite sure BIS would have shredded the project SA by now if it wasnt "promised" to the community somehow. i really hope it breaks down in the first weeks of steam release like WarZ did. thats what it, well not it but the incompetent team, or better rocket, deserves in my eyes.
-
exactly. probably the alpha will be with 100 zeds, 10 players and 1 item....but hey, at least we get holding a compass in our hands instead of just pressing key for HUD popup. no srsly. they need to release soon, otherwise it will be a joke, tho for some it already is. so in the "end" they will do anything to bring out a somehow working version against their statements of "quality". PS: never, ever believe what rocket says. u will be disappointed and feeling decieved. because in most cases its garbage changing from week to week. PSS: and it really is funny when a lot of people still comment on rockets posts with the attitude:" oh yeah, im so wet, u make me horny rocket. keep that "great" work up u lustful awesome programer"

u ever though the idea of a horde of zombies in the woods trough? u attract them by accident or however in the middle of nowhere with nowhere to hide or outrun them, like u could in a town. genius... it is almost 100% death, depending on how the zombies work now. because even if u can make it to the next town with 50 or whatever zombies running behind u, u will have attracted every other player seeing that huge crowd following someone, then he kills u.

you can also like justin bieber and miley cyrus if u like to. i dont mind. it was just my explanation for why Dean went silent again. he is talking without thinking and has low PR-skills. we would have been better off if the SA-developement was announced a year ago without giving Dean that much space in public. it was a management failure. but its done. not worth discussing.
-
i think by now Dean understood he messed up so much and isnt any more realated with releasing information until release. he lets people like Ivan take it, who we have nothing against.
-
its better not that shitty. if the first impression is bad, like it was with WarZ, DayZ is gonna be destroyed by media and players. you can be happy its on steam and they are obliging with refunds.
-
that would be absolutley legetimate and fine. but theres the thing that they/team/Dean dont release the 1 star food, they argue with the argument they need time to deliver a good game, yet claim the possible need of releasing the game without zombies. this is like pronouncing a 5 star restaurant but deliver 1 star food.
-
wt....? whats this absurd argument about no zombies. DayZ has to be with zombies, it is defined through zombies. it would be a whole other genre if left out. and if i´m allowed to copy the text of DayZ frontpage "A 225 km2 open world post-soviet state and one of the areas hit by a new and presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world's population. You are one of the few who have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population, now infected with the disease. Go Solo, team up with friends or take on the world as you choose your path in this brutal and chilling landscape using whatever means you stumble upon to survive." From wiki "DayZ is an award winning 2012 multiplayer open world survival horror mod designed by Dean Hall for the 2009 tactical shooter video game ARMA 2 and its 2010 expansion pack, ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. The mod places the player in the fictional post-Soviet state of Chernarus, where an unknown virus has turned most of the population into undead, violent zombies." and there is no wide range u can define a "core feature", zombies in DayZ are definitely one. its like u order bacon and eggs, and get only eggs. would u define bacon a core feature? srsly lol. however for everyone looking for another game "7 days to die" could get quite interesting. turns out to be a minecraft-dayz mix. i will keep an eye on that to see where pvp and severrules are going and a balanced survival pvp will be possible, sure it lacks the pure survival feature DayZ offers, when u meet other players, but still seems interesting http://7daystodie.com/

its a wrong camparison. its more like DayZ without Zombies is like Minecraft without beeing able to build, smth like that. noone bought the alpha of minecraft because they expected a filling "story" or "content". it was the cool corefeature which impressed, beeing able to build and mine anything (with friends). you also need to see it that way: everthing added to minecraft, needed to be invented. noone knew exactly where the whole thing were going. in DayZSA-alpha there is nothing, at least for me, which has to be "invented". all those gimmicks like craftting etc. dont need to fully work in alpha release for me. one year not beeing able to write a working serverarchitecture with tweaked graphics for ALPHA for a game which had its rough edges is just poor.

Is this a new "argument" saying "you know nothing about gamedevelopement" came in a few posts here. i think everyone can compare other games and their path of developement to DayZ-developement. not very effective to denounce someone with that empty phrase. -

i´m not impatient, i just dont even care about the game being good anymore. at this point i really realy hope it fails as hard as WarZ did. and youll pay your 30 bucks and be like "mh he was right the whole time." -

its funny because at some point that was exactly what he was doing, maybe because of all the people complaining. He was like "i´m happy if people don´t buy it, rather than them being disapointed in what i deliver" or "i´m happy if people lose interest and the hype cools down" ... thats something that doesnt match with your statement i´m quite sure he says things like that because by now he is terribly scared of failing the whole project and that more or less rigthly. and after all you missed the point. i´m not angry because he says things like "INNOVATIVE!" "Game changing" whatever, its good if there are new features, new cool other stuff, really. but the thing is he says these things to row back few months later and to sum up that in reality it was crap and needs to be reworked (see example above) -

its my honest opinion. im not trying to troll in any way. i´m giving facts and tell you why i feel that way, dont think thats trolling. i just cant understand you guys beeing that blind, not open for argmunets and then coming with the standard things: "we want the game to be good, game developement takes time" loosing the sense of reality and being able to refelct objectively what has been said by the developers and what has been done by them until now. starting at 15:46 Dean is using PAST TENSE, "was, has been issue, huge performance improvement" and then 2 months later: oh doesnt work out need to rework? great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlm_djJe708 -

see your are blind and not listening. Maybe they need 4 years of developement to produce a story, an engine, whatever, A WHOLE GAME.(with few hours singleplayer-expirience indeed) Dean himself said all the map improvements, to a map which already was there and didnt need to be created, whatever u want to claim here, all the items, crafting whatever is not the reason for not releasing the Alpha. i´m not demanding any of these terms to be complete in any way. but i´m demanding an alpha of a tweaked existing engine after one year, yes, i really does. to the AI: i know exactly that he wasnt pleased with the progress/behaviour of zombie AI and rewrites it from scratch, but u know what? he/team needs months to realize the zombies are still buggy, glitchy, jumpy crap when setting a few new patchfinding points. You know its the way this whole thing happens. There was this video in the beginng where Dean was selling the zombie AI-progression as huge improvement, where we saw the zombie runnig to his new waypoints following the player. i just thought:"well doesnt look too different for me, but hey he said theres still lot of work with it so it may get good" and the forums were full of this crap "wuhu nice Dean. keep it up we love you. yeah. i want a child with you." and what happens then? he throws the "great improvements" away and starts from scratch? there´s something that doesnt match for me, and angers me.
