If "getting a straight answer" means announcing mechanics that directly punish people who shoot other players, then no. People are KOSing right now because there isn't really anything else to do yet. What you need to realize is that when the environment becomes filled with things that make it an actual challenge to survive (like zombies, harsh weather, disease, etc), players will be drawn out of the "get geared up, kill other people gearing up" grind naturally; we will have to spend our time overcoming these new challenges instead.

I'm 97.482% sure Rocket said he was planning on implementing character temperature and its effects. Our clothes can already get labelled as 'damp', and there are matchboxes and piles of firewood that we can pick up. None of these things do anything at the moment, but in the future they will. I'd f*cking love it if there were seasons, or at least weather patterns that can last for days. Imagine how a weeklong blizzard would change the game.

It's not currently possible to use it while it's on a weapon. You can, however, take it off the gun and stab someone with it that way. Rocket did this on stream and basically turned into this guy.

There are barely any zombie spawns right now. They don't respawn either. They'll change this when server performance is better optimized. The lack of a threat means there's nothing to do currently but loot and shoot. Also alpher.

Occlusion culling isn't active yet. Rocket said this in one of his streams just before alpher went live.

Loot spawns are not at all balanced now, because they haven't worked on the balance yet. The game is basically just dumping loot based only on location type. They're working on more important things like server performance, stability and security at the moment; they'll get around to loot spawning mechanics in time.

Rocket has clearly stated that there is already a logout timer, but it is currently disabled. I do not know why this is and when it'll be re-enabled.

There is no threat from zombies right now. Therefore, all there is to do is run around looting and shooting.

I have an older AMD cpu and I get perfectly playable FPS. Phenom II X4 975 3.6ghz, gtx660, 8gb ram, currently getting 30fps while in Berezhino. Just dick around with your settings for a while.
