[SA] Suggestion: NPC Trading Posts
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Thom Curry's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Why don't you just set up your own trading post? Since it's pretty clear it almost certainly won't happen. -
Let us boil seawater to make salt.
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Muncywolverine's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Can I salt the ground of my enemies' camps so no tents will ever grow there again? -
DayZ Standalone Suggestion: zombies
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah, let's have realistic zombies! Oh wait -
I don't understand what the suggestion is... You can already take a hostage if you want, just pull a gun on somebody and tell them to come with you.

Allergy's and allergic to certain items
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to irock32's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
No thanks, it's an interesting idea but I don't think it would improve the game at all. -
Viral infection and Player corpse reanimates
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Nem3sis's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It has been stated officially, it's on the floppin' website... Anyways, I figured all the survivors were immune because the virus is airborne or something. -
Requested Post for SA Damage model Suggestion.
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to mick17's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yes. Excellent. -
Or a hit that causes bleeding.
-
THIS make your own post saying all this and force Rocket to do it. This would be fantastic.

Player Revive idea for standalone.
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to itsDIETZ's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah, I think I could see AEDs being in the game but I definitely don't think they should be a guaranteed revival, and maybe only usable in a 'near-death' stage. I also think broken legs should need splints, and never fully heal. -
Nice list, I also think broken bones should need splints to heal. And should never fully heal, either (Assuming they have most of the broken leg glitches fixed).
-
ack, double post.

Yes, I agree that any gun should be able to one-hit kill without hitting you in the head. However, most fatal chest wounds wouldn't be instantly lethal, and I wouldn't want to see 2 chest shots = dead, 100% of the time. There need to be more variables than that, more precise hit location on the player's body, and wounds depending more on where you are hit than bullet damage. Complicated, but that way you have a realistic health system and the rare chance of surviving 10 shots from an assault rifle. Oh, and more forms of being wounded (e.g. crawling on hands and knees, writhing in pain, immobilized but still able to shoot with a lot of gun sway). Basically, I want something other than hitpoints.

Sounds for zombies consuming human flesh
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What about visuals? Aren't they important, too? Like a mangled player that you might stumble upon in the wilds? You still get beans though -
Actually, small floods along the coast sound pretty cool. Maybe a way to get some of those people up north too. How hard would it be to implement, I wonder?

Make infection /different/
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
They are adding a lot to the disease system for the Standalone, I'm sure there will be added effects along the lines of these. -
It does do much more damage than the hatchet, I think the hatchet does, like 8K while the machete does somewhere around 12.5K. Also it's straight-up pimpin'.

Make weapons take up different amounts of slots in a backpack.
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to TacticalN29's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Rifles shouldn't even fit in a backpack. -
Yup, not like you can go into a fire station and come out with an M4A1, 2 grenades, and a silenced m9 un Chernarus. No guns at all there. Like Joe said, you shouldn't choose a place just because you want more guns, and the devs aren't going to throw away a year's hard work just because there's not enough guns there. If you really want more guns, get your own private server and adjust the loot.
-
I'm sure there's at least on place in middle America that looks like this.

Give us a melee weapon slot!
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Muncywolverine's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's not on purpose, it's because of the ArmA II inventory limitations. A third slot for melee, switched to in the same manner as as switching weapons, is both plausible and necessary. Having to drop your weapon on the ground to equip an item that is supposedly on your belt is silly, and you can certainly carry more than two weapons on your person in an easy-to-reach spots. The game doesn't have to be easy, but things that are easy in real life should be easy in the game as well. -
This is more of an engine limitation, I believe that if there is any way to do that then it will be done.
-
And all survivors are immune.
-
I like how people are feeling entitled to find food wherever they look... It's an apocalypse game, it should be this difficult and sometimes near impossible to find food. I for one love the new patch, this is how hard DayZ should be. Unfortunately, I can no longer find enough loot to keep my church-based charity in Elektro running, so that's too bad.
-
But this is not The Walking Dead, and survivors are immune to the zombie infection. Go see for yourself, it's on the website.
