DayZ Suggestion. TRAPS
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Royal Viking of Sweden's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
A perfectly good reason not to defend your camp! By the way, we already have bear traps. -
The Day/Night cycle solution + ability to skip Day/Night
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to TheG4Gaming's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
My server doesn't have nametags. You won't recognize anyone, just cooperate with whoever is friendly, and don't KoS. -
Why not? Who says there won't be a community that wants to change aspects of the game, to say, allow players to get the zombie virus? There's always going to be a niche community that wants to play things differently. Mods could end up improving the standalone for everyone, just look at ACE/ACRE for ArmA II.

Reduce artificial difficulty (randomness) and increase real difficulty in SA
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to _Anubis_ (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Preventing sickness is a real problem that definitely has a place in the game. Disease would be a very real danger in a world like this, unlike your weapon drop example, so why shouldn't it be an aspect in DayZ? Do you think nothing is left up to chance in survival? Is there anything we can do to prevent that random sniper from braining us at 1000m? That's still chance, just not represented as a game mechanic. Without chance, randomness and chaos, what would this game be? -
The Day/Night cycle solution + ability to skip Day/Night
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to TheG4Gaming's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think I would really hate it if days were only like, and hour or two long. It's way too quick. Some people like to play at night, because stealth, and others don't. I wouldn't like it if I could only be mobile for an hour at a time, because I don't want to risk being seen in the daytime. Just pick a server where you are free to play in both daylight and night. -
In the server I play on, people are shunned if they call out a murderer in side chat, after they're killed. The humanity system is basically the same thing to me, announcing to the world that "This guy kills people"! It's unfair, and it punishes a certain playstyle. And besides, you're not getting your bandit skin in the standalone, as there's going to be a clothing system.

Urban Dead - An example for a good Zombie MMO
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to BlakkM9's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It has been suggested several times, the problem is that people would quickly get immature about it. I don't think it would be worth it. -
Death by Zombie: Zombie with your gear.
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Supercuate's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's been said many, many times that all survivors are immune. How do you even know that the virus is transferred through bites? There's literally no proof. The virus could be airborne for all we know. And no offense, but it seems like you have no idea about biology. Regarding the first zombie game to have players that aren't immune: You should do some research before you say things like that. There's a game already out that's going to be implementing that in one of their updates. It's called The Dead Linger. Maybe you'd like that. -
I'm able to outrun zombies while crouch running, all they really need to fix is the pathing. No need to nerf zombies, they're already easy to avoid anyways.

I guess his suggestion was... *Sunglasses* Shot down. YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH

[TOOL] Traveler's Guide/Language Dictionary
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yup, they showed us Novoselky (I'm also learning Russian, for Non-DayZ reasons, but it's proven to be helpful) in the last DevBlog update. But why don't we just add in some maps with the Cyrillic characters? You'd be more likely to find those in Chernarus, anyways. You could just match up the characters on the map and signs, even if you can't pronounce them. -
[CLOSED] Becoming a Zombie (Not playing as zombie)
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to UnarmedCiv's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
That's fine, but you should still search for similar topics before starting a post. This has been posted countless times, and the response is always the same: All of the survivors are immune. I think it says so on the main DayZ mod page. -
[CLOSED] Becoming a Zombie (Not playing as zombie)
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to UnarmedCiv's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's basically the same thing as the one that was posted an hour earlier. When in doubt, just use the search function. -
I'm not really asking for 1-shot insta-kills (excluding the aforementioned situations), but shots to the heart and other vital areas should be a kill. There should be certain areas on the player where you can't really do anything if you get shot there. Heart, neck, head, and I'm sure there are others, should be pretty much the end for you. Also, it would be nice if a bullet could incapacitate a player, like they stumble and perhaps fall, have a limp, or not be able to use their weapon effectively. Along the lines of broken legs and unconsciousness.

I'd prefer no backpack, and maybe something that is often carried by civilians, like a watch.
-
I play that way, so can I say that? Ahem, Either you see something or you don't. If I spot something that I was alerted to by a peripheral dot, I have been artificially assisted by the game. I don't play DayZ to have my hand held like that.

A Way to Introduce a more Work-together environment?
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Steam_Power's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Haha, I'm my group's sign reader. Requiring a rudimentary knowledge of things would realistically encourage teamwork, because then you will need more people to get a job done. -
I definitely don't want to see guns becoming less powerful, when it already takes 6 pistol mags to kill someone. Actually, Rocket said there will be less guns at first.

A Way to Introduce a more Work-together environment?
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Steam_Power's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I agree with this, in fact I've made several posts like it. If we make tasks difficult enough, people will begin to specialize in certain tasks and become more valuable as part of a team. -
You Need To Add Ramen Noodle Soup To The Game!

If there's going to be disease lingering on guns, checking the safety might be an indicator of whether it's safe to use (eg all guns are spawned with safety on).

If the glitches that cause a broken leg are fixed in the SA, which I'm sure they will be, then breaking a leg should have a permanent effect on your character, and splints should be needed. Zombies shouldn't be able to break your leg so easily, though, the injury should mostly be caused by falls.
