I like all of those, except there should be a limited side chat with radios.

Progression System in DayZ Standalone
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to BoaDrago's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What are you even talking about? -
Replace M107/AS50 with less effective russian equivalent
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Xianyu's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
There are several guns with built-in scopes. -
See, adding the actual crash in is good and it will alert nearby players. I don't like the radio thing because a) not all players would have radios B) I don't like how it announces this information to everyone. It would push a lot of players into doing things, when most events should be more player-driven.
-
So why don't we add those things instead?

Replace M107/AS50 with less effective russian equivalent
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Xianyu's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
That, and maybe add some deadzone to it (More like Red Orchestra 2, and not DayZ) so that the weapon is not always pointed at the center of the screen. -
Not a bad idea, but I think we would be able to find a few fridges and saws in working order.

Character Mods From Other Zombie Movies And Games
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Sgt Texas's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well, there will be, so you're good. But I'd be surprised if we saw that level of customization in the standalone. -
That's not what this game is about, uncertainty is a huge aspect in the game, and it's awesome that a game can create so much tension. You should never know who to trust. Any movie where any character betrays anyone ever would be a little silly if the character wore devil horns all the time, eh? Also, I don't think we're going to get appearances changed like this in the standalone, what with all the clothing being added.
-
In Red Orchestra 2 you have some pretty good collision detection, things like bumped fences will raise and lower your weapon if you sweep it across the top. In Ground Branch, they're implementing a feature where a weapon is pressed up against the character's body if it's too close to an object. Both of these would be affected by length, and I think it would be beneficial. I also think weight should be a factor, you would be slower to bring around an LMG than a pistol.

Better than they would be if I had an M4.
-
Um, yeah. You can literally just spray it in an enemy's direction and win. Hipfiring is extremely easy with that gun. Semi-Auto and a one shot kill.
-
I would like less humanity levels. And by less, I mean none.

C-c-c-combo breaker!
-
Balancing. Shorter weapons would be better indoors, but less accurate. I'm all for it.

Safety Deposit Box, Supply Drops and Crowbar Idea
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Draco122's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If we did this, then the game would become even more like Deathmatch with zombies. No more scanvenging, just pick up a sniper from your unlootable strongbox and keep your own one-man army in there. When you die, it's supposed to be permadeath. We should be doing the opposite of this suggestion, make it more difficult to get your things back after death. -
Standalone Weather; more predictable/effective on player's condition
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Nice, I like it. A few additions to some of the features, though: In warm weather, wearing light clothing will keep you cooler but have and increased risk of infection from zombie attacks (Less coverage) When shivering, holding breath/zooming in will stop the shivering for a short period of time. -
Chance to go crazy if Z hits the player
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to r3m0teHORST's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Okay, how about distancing myself from the zombies, like I do in game already? Edit: Oh man, the original version of this did not make sense, I apologize. -
No,, because uncertainty is an important part of this game. We shouldn't be giving players this kind of knowledge.

Urban Dead - An example for a good Zombie MMO
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to BlakkM9's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Maybe a limitation on where you could place emblems and text, relegating it to bases and customized player clothing. -
Chance to go crazy if Z hits the player
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to r3m0teHORST's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What makes you say that? How do you know everyone wouldn't react differently? Ah yes, I remember the time I had a nervous breakdown, but then I ate a Kit-Kat and I was fine. Seriously though, this game is about the player behind the avatar. People do change when playing this game, but I would absolutely hate it if my player just started evacuating his bladder and bowels every tenth zombie encounter. -
I'm in agreement, guns balance themselves in real life, why not emulate that?
-
He said he has a problem with the current one, and from reading his post, it seems like it would be EXTREMELY overpowered. As much damage as a .50 cal sniper, and full auto, AND silenced? Think about whether or not you really want that in the game.
-
From what I hear, they're redesigning the weapons, which I'm sure means balancing. And I'm always up for more russian weapons.

Suggestion: weapon Repair and degradation
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to Perigrin's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Don't worry too much about it man, as long as you search around a bit before you post in the future, no harm done.
