being able to paint and customize colour of weapons and clothing
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to yozer's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like it. -
Melee weapons should be by far the most common weapons, I thnik it would be cool if guns were more valuable.
-
I don't know about animals attacking zombies, maybe they would instinctively avoid them. I like the OP's idea, though.

I'd be happier with the mosin-nagant more or less taking the place of the enfield, The same goes for most non russian weapons.

Infected Zombies Should Prioritise Attacking Weaker Survivors
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to jezex90's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'd just like to point out that these are supposed to be 'infected', not traditional zombies. They don't have to follow the predefined rules about zombies, so I wouldn't say it's completely out of the question. -
Well, I never tried to explain how zombie damage would work. Why would I, in a topic about gun damages? But I think it would basically work the same way. You could die from getting your throat ripped out, or getting completely devoured, or from blood loss. Getting punched in the leg by a zombie a bunch wouldn't kill you. And just because the black and white screen is tied to the current system, doesn't mean it would have to go if the health system was changed. A lot of people on this forum would disagree with you... From what I've seen, one hit insta-kills are pretty rare. Sure, there's mortal wounds, but you're probably not going to die immediately. And even then, you probably won't kill someone with a single bullet. Round like the 5.56 are made to wound, and there have been a bunch of stories about how guns aren't as lethal as some people think. Nevertheless, a bullet anywhere should severely ruin your character's day. As for the lethality of guns arguments, I'd rather leave that to someone more knowledgeable about the topic.
-
There should also be an option to individually count rounds.
-
Last time I checked, DayZ that wasn't a game that concerned itself about being frustrating.

I like the idea of different spawns. I imagine that a lot of people would flock to hospitals, police stations and military bases. Of course, some people would try to escape via the airport, and of course, the shores. Some huge boat wrecks all along the coast would be pretty cool, as if there was a mass exodus off of the island that went wrong. Waking up in a car crash, crashed news chopper, hospital room or in the middle of the street would add a lot to the immersion.

Something like this seems really obscure and unlikely to be laying around in this situation, I don't really think it has a place in the game.
-
Awesome, I really wanted something like this added. I think I may have made a post about it myself.
-
Nice. This would make a gunshot wound a lot more serious, which I think would be cool. Although, a couple of my own ideas: If you have a bullet stuck in you, you should have to dig it out. I just think it should be a more serious wound. Maybe you need splints for a while if you have a broken bone? Not too long, but for several hours at least (Provided that broken leg glitches aren't so commonplace) But I'm all for a system like this.

Knocking people out.
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to The Shane Walsh of DayZ's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Maybe so, but one unrealistic feature doesn't justify another. I'm not saying they shouldn't be added, either, just saying they shouldn't be too reliable. -
[Questions & Suggestions] DayZ Standalone

My thoughts: -
Since when were the ghillie suit, hero and bandit skin removed? Did I miss something? Your clothing isn't persistent if it's the default skin. You may want to take a look at the devblogs.

Knocking people out.
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to The Shane Walsh of DayZ's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
From what I've heard, things like tranq guns and knockout gas can be very dangerous and unreliable when used on humans. The dosage has to be precise and maintained, otherwise it might either do nothing or kill them. If it were put in the game, it should be more effective against animals, maybe? -
Knocking people out.
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to The Shane Walsh of DayZ's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Knocking out should have a chance of not working, and a chance of killing them. Also, it should just be a black screen whenever you're unconscious. -
That. Of course, I think hitpoints should be done away with, so now you just have a lethal or a non-lethal injury. That way, you can't kill someone by shooting them in the foot ten times, but a shot to the heart will almost definitely kill you. And shots to the torso will do some serious damage and kill you if you don't get fixed up.

Survival of the fittest - Dayz standalone

Guys! There are zombies rampant across the world! We must destroy all of our anti-materiel rifles because they would be unrealistic in this situation!!! I don't care much for the .50 cals either, but Chernarus was in a war pretty recently.

And that's why it won't be added.

Take away the wording of where you are on the map upon login/spawn!
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to jaytmuk (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Because while it would be removed from both, it would mainly affect your first spawn. -
Take away the wording of where you are on the map upon login/spawn!
Clumzy (DayZ) replied to jaytmuk (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This is more about when you first spawn. Why would that help? On most hardcore servers you can't see yourself on a map. -
Why do you even make these posts?
-
That's why you would wrap it around yourself more than once. Also, it shouldn't be too hard to find, there should be at least a couple rolls in every house. I would imagine they'd take up multiple inventory slots but have multiple uses. Also, a chance of the bleeding to start again.
