    Hideouts (modification of existing structures)

Sounds pretty complex, but It'd be pretty cool.
  2. Clumzy (DayZ)

    Teamwork elements

If it's possible, I'm all for it.
  3. I suppose if there are going to be snowy areas in the game, it would make sense. Running in deep snow, mud or water should also slow you down a lot, too.

    blood group

Well, if this was implemented you could check your blood type with an ID or something. I personally love suggestions like this because I think that being injured isn't really serious enough in DayZ. Especially things like walking away from 8 rounds to the chest and walking around perfectly fine after breaking your leg.
  5. Do you think people want this game to be like Call of Duty? So a definite no the marker system, and GPS systems would be pretty much fucked in an apocalypse so no to that too. Regarding the lock idea, how hard would it be to just break a window? And I don't really much like the self transfusion either. You can't do it for a reason, because surviving on your own should be much harder than surviving with a group. And really, how hard is it to kill a few animals for blood? It's been said a thousand times before: DayZ is meant to be a harsh, unforgiving experience. Additions like this would water the game down and I, for one, don't want to see that happen.

    More Buildings.

Such a building would be picked clean, I'd think. But a store like that could still have a place in Chernarus.
  7. Clumzy (DayZ)

    WE NEED CAVES

From what I've heard, rivers can't really be done. Sorry to bring you the bad news.
  8. Clumzy (DayZ)

    Sleeping?

Well how do you propose this would work? You would just stare at your character lying on the ground for eight hours? Or you log off, and for some unexpected reason you can't play again in 12 hours and everything you have is gone? Sleep would be a nice thing to have in theory, but there's not a good way to implement it that I've ever heard.
  9. Clumzy (DayZ)

More realistic animations. [Details in topic]

Not with the field of view currently in DayZ.
  10. Clumzy (DayZ)

choose what type of person you spawn as.

No, DayZ 2017 is 5 years into the outbreak. Regular DayZ is not.
  11. Clumzy (DayZ)

choose what type of person you spawn as.

That's not what I said. I'm saying that allowing people to choose their starter gear would be bad. I think that small civilian devices that practically everyone carries such as a watch or cellphone could be given on spawn, but randomly. You may get several items and you may get nothing. Maybe a bit of random clothing as well.

choose what type of person you spawn as.

I think what you're forgetting is that we are people who washed up on a foreign beach with nothing but the things we have on our person. At least in the mod, anyways. I usually don't carry around a car, a gun, and a fully stocked pantry. So thats why I'm saying that some civilian-esque items that are randomly given on spawn would be okay, but nothing that would give you any distinct advantage and nothing you get to choose.
  13. Clumzy (DayZ)

choose what type of person you spawn as.

Of course you don't, who in reality would be carrying around a backpack and military grade bandage just in case of a zombie apocalypse? If there is to be any starter gear, which I don't think there needs to be, it should be small, common, somewhat useless civilian items that are given to you randomly. Something that a normal person would carry on them. It should also be random. For example, you could have a chance of spawning with a watch, or a cellphone, or a pen, or any combination of any of these kinds of items. I think that's reasonable and would give the game a bit more authenticity. That kind of glitch can happen whether you have gear or not. That was how my last death happened. I lost a CZ 550, a decent backpack and a bunch of medical supplies. I bled out before my friend could even start bandaging me. If something like this is your problem you should make suggestions about it, although I'm sure it is being worked on.

Best GPU and CPU for Dayz?

'My due'? You mean 'might do'? Anyways, I don't think this is really the right subforum for this. Maybe ask the new players section or ask to have this post moved there.
  15. As I said, just SOME post processing effects. Such as blurred vision when in pain. That was obviously supposed to be a pretty big feature of the game but I bet a lot of people don't even know about it. Alright then, let's allow people to hack in game, too! If some people choose to play that way for an "unfair advantage" over you, who cares, you will die anyways since DayZ is now a full pvp arena.

    Melee combat

You mean Chivalry: Medieval Warfare? Because if melee in DayZ was like that... Oh my god...
  17. Clumzy (DayZ)

    fast and slow reload

Maybe slow reloads could also be quieter?
  18. Clumzy (DayZ)

    Emotional death

I wouldn't like to be forced into third person to watch myself die, I personally think it would be more immersive seeing it happen in first person. But yeah, slow deaths would be cool, not just long animations that always end in death but, say, bleeding to death, something that could be stopped but if not then it would be a hard thing to watch. Your character slowly gets weaker, stumbling, falling, being reduced to a crawl, passing out and eventually dying. Getting shot in certain areas could render you immobilized, kind of like the sniper scene inte Saving Private Ryan. While it is a good start, DayZ could use more stages of life then conscious, unconscious, broken legs and dead. Incapacitated would be a good start. Furthermore, I would also like to see animations that change with non-lethal wounds, too. Non-functional limbs or a different animation for broken leg than just crawling prone.

    Steam Achievements and Progressing Weapons

I could see why some people would want achievables, but I've never really had much interest in them. The gun modification sounds like a cool idea, though. Things like conversion kits would have to be pretty rare of course.
  20. Sounds entirely fair to me.
  21. SOME post processing effects should also be forced, such as blurry vision, or blurring while aiming down sights if that's added.
  22. I feel like the OP has good intentions but maybe this method isn't the best way of handling the problem. A lot of times i feel like having the ATOC turned off helps a lot gameplay-wise, but looks like complete shit. It also makes it way too easy to spot camps and vehicles while airborne. If there was a way to make it so that turning down something like ATOC or object detail didn't make it easier to see things at a distance, I'd be all for it. I would also be fine with having the settings lower so everyone could run it easily, but fixed at a lower setting. I mean, there are some things that really shouldn't be optional. For example, did you know that with Post-Processing on, when you are in pain, your vision goes all blurry? That either should be forced or not in the game at all. With effects that would change and benefit players depending on whether or not you experience them, it shouldn't really be optional. Gamma and brightness is another thing, that kind of ruins the point of night gameplay in general. I remember before I knew about the Gamma slider, I was running around in pitch black with only a narrow beam of light to guide me and no idea where I was going. I miss being able to do that without thinking 'Why am I bothering to do this, I can't see shit without my gamma jacked up'. TL;DR: We shouldn't force the graphics settings to be higher because that would be unfair to lower-end PC users, but we should have graphical settings that affect gameplay be more consistent across different settings. Oh, and an option to turn off just motion blur would be cool too.

    Dayz Gunplay

I think his 'good point' was that DayZ should NOT have COD-like gunplay. It's no big deal if you misread what he said and don't agree with what you thought you read, just don't make an entire reply that is just about how much you hate a certain game franchise. The guy mentions COD once, not even complimenting it, and now the majority of the replies in this thread are just arguments about a series of completely different video games that the OP was just using as an example. In conclusion, the OP did bring up some good points, so let's discuss them instead of worry about some other games that some people seem to strongly dislike. I think that one of my biggest issues with DayZ gunplay is currently the health system. I really don't care for the way that a person can take 10 rounds from a pistol in the torso, or pretty much anywhere else for that matter, and sprint away like it's no big deal.
  24. I say no to this as well, because I think that the better solution is a task requiring some rudimentary real-world knowledge of how to do it before you are able. This would be represented by a small 'minigame' type sequence, but with nothing silly like quick time events or time limits (for most actions). I imagine it being kind of like The Walking Dead game (the good one), where you can point and click to select items and apply the item to different areas, or you would have to manually do ther things. Say you wanted to heal a gunshot wound. you get a knife and hold it as steady as you can to try and pry the bullet out. But don't remember to give him morhpine first, sterilize the knife, disinfect the wound and bandage it afterwards. The steadier you are with the mouse and the better your knowledge is, the better you are at doing such a task. I think I'd like a system like that.

    Dayz Gunplay

Wow, people get so enraged when you even mention Call of Duty... They're just video games, people. Back on topic, wind affecting bullets would be nice.
