  1. There are a lot of un-official servers you can play on where your death will not be permanent. In fact, at the time of this writing, of the more than 5,700 DayZ servers currently operating, only 512 are Official.

Looking for people to play with.

I'm a total noob to Day Z, but am experienced with first-person shooters and strategy games (I have over 450 hours clocked in Team Fortress 2). Any server in the mid-west is good for me, as long as the ping is reasonable. I value teamwork, having fun, and kicking ass (you want to win, right?) Steam: Koo-Blu Penguin or PM me if interested. Thank you.

    Help!

I am a total Day Z noob, and I have some basic questions. 1) Can you install Day Z without using SixLauncher or DayZCommander? What happens if you simply run the game clicking "Expansions" in Operation Arrowhead? Can I install and run it within OA? 2) I heard this game features persistent character development, meaning when you die you die for good, and what you do in one session carries through to the next. How does this work in practice? I just played a couple minutes of the Chernaeyev map and was pursued by zombies. Rather than being killed, I chose to "Abort" the mission. Is my character still alive, or what happens when you leave before you die? Also, are there certain objectives or end points which much be reached, or can I leave in the middle of a session without penalty? 3) What are some tips you have for the new player? Thank you.
