  1. Night doesn't seem to dissuade people on Australian servers for some reason; I'm guessing because there aren't enough servers so they're pretty much always full. I have NVGs and I am still amazed at how many guys will spawn at Cherno and just casually walk into the city in pitch black. They definitely need to fix the failtorch aka flash light, which is basically a strobe light because your character wont hold it straight when he moves. that would make things a lot better Also I've yet to run into another player with NVGs as hazedaze also noted above
  2. Another thing you could try; there have been plenty of times that I've shot crawling zombies thinking they are people. It would be really easy actually to emulate the crawlers; you just need to change directions randomly like the zombies do. In the dark or at anything past close range no one would be able to tell the difference without actually getting in close (or zooming down the scope) to check you out, which plenty of people cbf doing. I might actually try crawling around in Cherno like this and see how I go, rofl
  3. What do you think the British Army used to win both world wars bro, the winchester or lee einfield?
  4. We are no longer dog-eat-dog like we used to be. Perhaps if there was some kind of apocalypse then we would go back to that. People cry today about USA bombing Pakistanis with predator drones but the fact is that is hippy shit compared to the first 99% of human history All of these "deathmatch" threads, despite their delicious tears and butthurt, do have an underlying truth to them. Something will have to be done eventually about the DM... but it won't be through any enforced rules or penalties, I think. Once this game is more developed, and it actually has some sort of "point" or "goal" or "objective", however faint, then the DM problem will be fixed. The reason the game is DM right now is primarily because there is no point to the game. It's a game about nothing. There is an infinite amount of ways to play the game and there is an infinite amount of things to do, but at the same time there is nothing to do. This will be rectified down the track no doubt.
  5. A friend and I have been sniping around Cherno and Electro on ANZ and the other aust servers over the past week, simply because we have NVGs, DMR and ghillie suit, and that's pretty much the first thing you think to do when you get good gear. The thrill of murdering poor weaponless noobs is over though, so I'll tell you what to do to avoid getting murdered: noob snipers will set up in the high buildings in the city; pro snipers will set up in the woods behind the city, and prey on the noob snipers and anyone entering or exiting the city. My friend and I will set up in a night server or an unpopulated american one, then join Australian servers and keep swapping servers until we find some noob on the roof of one of the buildings. There is nothing of value on any building roof, so there is never a point to going up there. Spots we would use were the small hills south of Cherno spawn (the beach just east of the city), the woods up in the hills directly north of Cherno, or the woods north west, where you can hit guys on the buildings, in the fields below, or entering from the west. Most snipers dont have NVGs, but some such as my friend and I do, which means as soon as you move anywhere in his field of view you will be spotted, even when it's pitch black. probably the best place to enter Cherno is from the east, along the road. If there is some guy campin the hospital then he will get you, but all the best sniper spots wont cover that entry. another thing to consider is hiding your main weapon somehwere (if you have one, and only have the smallest backpack) because going into cherno with a weapon can actually be more dangerous than having one. even the coldest killer will sometimes hesitate briefly to shoot a poor beanbanger who has no weapon and looks like he just got the game. if you run into someone who is gonna shoot you, likely he will be some bandit with an automatic weapon who will fuck you up anywya also, if you aggro the zombies then for christ sake's just abort and come back. I know it's gamey but you may as well do it whilst you can, because everyone else does it without hesitation. the most dangerous thing about zombies in this game is the fact that they instantly show your position to anyone in a 1km radius finally, if you come under fire from a sniper, you gotta sprint and zig zag to the nearest cover then abort. it's tough to get in practice on running targets in this game, so most people will have difficulty hitting you. again aborting is gamey, but think of it as a "fuck you" to the bastard out in the hills who is sniping weaponless noobs
  6. Make sure you post the concert time and date here so I can murder you
  7. I remember reading somewhere a while back that if you go back to first person, THEN aim down the sights, that it is more accurate. Just wanted to confirm/bust this
  8. One more thing OP, if you really want to understand what we are saying, you will watch this particular episode the documentary "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", where you will gain a rare 1st hand insight into the psychology of a manhunter: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1265811/
  9. Because as the game currently stands, there is no aim, objective, or goal. Even "surviving" isn't any kind of goal. After you've explored enough of the map, there's nothing to do really but grief other players; this applies to playing by yourself or with friends. So instead of playing a zombie survival game, you end up playing what is essentially the world's most realistic fishing simulator; you find yourself camping assorted hotspots like the coastal airfield with a 50 cal sniper rifle, hoping to catch noobs heading for loot. Every minute you wait is like another cast, and after every minute you ask yourself the same question, "Should I wait a bit longer (have a few more casts) or should I try another spot?" I'm pretty sure they will bring in some kind of objective/aim to the game eventually; they will have to in order to keep people playing. I'm all for the sandbox; it's something we don't get in games anymore, but there has to be at least some kind of overall structure rather than anarchy.
  10. all you nerds need to stfu about the realism bs. "OH HOW WOULD I KNOW SOMEONE HAS MURDERED JUST BY LOOKING AT THEM ETC ETC". It's a fckn game, geeks, get over it. It's called balance. There's actually potential in this mod for something different to the usual trash we get fed in FPS on a monthly basis, but you adhd kids are intent on messing it up. And yes, I do play as a bandit so I'm not crying about being shot. y'all need 2 get laid, seriously
  11. the game needs a side chat as well as direct. side chat helps facilitate random survivors meeting and engaging in teamwork; it also lets me troll when I murder someone
  12. I started playing after the bandit skins were removed, and I usually spend my time murdering other players (for fun, not loot). Honestly, I do think they need to bring the bandit skins back... not only is the current deathmatch situation not fun for people who wanna play as survivors, it's not fun for guys like me who just want to murder. What's the point when everyone is killing everyone straight up, no questions asked? Plenty of other FPS for that. The bandit skin is a good middle ground imo; you can still murder as many people as you want, but at the same time it will discourage people from murder and foster friendliness somewhat, especially when people stick together to fight off bandits
  13. My friend says if a person isn't moving you can just take stuff, but I don't think it works that way. I know sometimes when I try to put stuff into someone's pack it just drops on the ground
  14. range makes it useless. they really really need to buff this thing; it would be an absolutely awesome addition to the game. it would actually be useful now that zombies are more deadly
  15. I was in a server the other day, and some were saying it worked whilst others said it was bugged, and only global voice and text chat works. What's the deal?
  16. yeah, are a lotta servers running the beta patch? not sure if i should dl it..
