I've never played any online game without running into assholes.
-
What are you talking about? I run around the neighborhood all day long flipping over fences and such with my AR-15. I've got leet irl hax.

Don't be so easily offended buttercup. It makes the world weak.

The vault animation is terrible to. I feel really bad for the blacks who play this game, and are forced to jump like whitey. It is what it is. Its there now, so I'll use it. If it wasn't, I wouldn't, as I never did before.

Because running around with a couple tires and a can of gas is real life yo.

When you are laying there dead, it was a bandit.

Running and Switching Guns...
PhillyTC replied to Kyrios (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No, but I can ready up an AR that is slung over my shoulder after holstering my pistol at a dead run. I can also sling said AR onto my shoulder while drawing a pistol from it's holster at a dead run. Not being able to switch to a weapon in your bag is understandable. A holster and a sling are designed for this very purpose, to keep either weapon readily available when needed, and out of the way when not. Switching between the 2 should not make you stop completely. -
Newcomer starter tut to get equipment easily

Just a clarification. I may be misunderstanding what you're talking about, but the deerstands at the Balota med tents do spawn gear and weapons. I have actually found quite a few nice items there, and almost always head there first as a new spawn if my spawn location is reasonable for it. -
Best places to pitch a tent/make a base?
PhillyTC replied to tals975's topic in New Player Discussion
I have a question for people who stumble across the campsites of others. What is your motivation to blow up someone's camp site? Wouldn't it make more sense to keep that site around, so that you could go back to it in the future to get more supplies? I know where several campsites are that aren't mine, and I'd never even consider blowing them up. Why would I do that when I know where someone's base camp is, and I can raid it at will. I'm not greedy. I don't have to clean someone out. Just take what I need, or maybe upgrade a weapon and get out of dodge, checking back every couple days to see if there's any new goodies. What good does it do to destroy a camp that was well stocked? You have now taken away a known stash location. I'm not bitter that my site got destroyed. I didn't know how good or bad of a location it was when I set it up, as I'm new to the game, and later found several bases within a few hundred meters of my own. I just don't understand the logic behind why someone would do it. You get no personal benefit from it, and will very likely never know the reaction of the person who's base it was, so why do it? -
My screen is PhillyTC because I am a Philly sports fan, and TC is my initials. I use that handle everywhere I go online. IGN is Joboo, because I felt like it and don't have a good reason for it.

I think it's F12. Remember seeing that somewhere, but may be wrong.

Wait for SA or buy Arma 2:CO that is the question
PhillyTC replied to Botelho31's topic in New Player Discussion
I found this game by pure dumb luck. I am a predominantly console gamer, and was feeling burnt out with all the Halo I've been playing recently, and wanted a change of pace. I woke up Saturday morning, and was kind of having a fix to shoot zombies, so I googled around looking for some highly rated zombie games to load on my laptop. Since I am not typically a PC gamer, I was pretty out of the loop about what was available. I wanted something that gave the ambiance of The Walking Dead. A game where staying alive was not a given, and resource management was an important aspect of the game. I was shocked after about an hour of reading reviews of different games and "best zombie games" lists, when I stumbled into a review of DayZ about 3/4 of the way down a page I was reading. It seemed to have everything I wanted in premise, but I was very skeptical, as it was just a mod of an FPS that I had never even heard of before. That, and my laptop is not exactly a gaming juggernaut. I thought, screw it, how much does it cost? If it's cheap, I'll give it a whirl. Just so happened that Arma II:CO was on sale on Steam for $14.99 for another day and a half. I went ahead and purchased it. It took a while to install and load, and get set up, but that's OK, because it was a day of playoff football, so I was content with not having immediate access. When it was all said and done, I got into the game, started figuring things out. Got killed many times and got the hang of how to play, and am now really loving it. I've bought a lot of games in my life. This is easily the best $15 I've ever spent on gaming. The SA can only get better, but I would strongly advise you to get the mod if you can in the meantime. -
I just started playing yesterday, and was killed twice by people going through the proper motions to ensure I wasn't hostile. Unfortunately for me, I didn't know how to put my gun down, so when I went to the ground with my weapon still raised, even though I said friendly, they thought I was about to open fire on them. They assumed incorrectly, but I can't blame them for their actions based on what I appeared to be doing. My second encounter was just unfortunate circumstances. I told the guy I didn't know how to put my gun down and would turn around. What I didn't know, was that his buddy was behind me, so when I turned around, I was pointing my gun in his face. He shot me without hesitation. Gotta love noobs.
